After Being Betrayed I Married the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 303 - 301: I Give You A Chance to Admit Your Mistake!
This old man, who had weathered countless storms and witnessed innumerable major events, was undoubtedly one of the city's strongest figures. He was full of vigor and as dignified as a deity. Standing there without a word, a single glance was enough to make every passerby's heart skip a beat. Indeed, a man's reputation precedes him. Who among those who reached the King-level in Hangcheng City was an ordinary person? Who was just coasting on an empty reputation? Even though Yu Tai had been detached from worldly affairs for many years, his name still carried immense weight for the locals!
However, this man, who once called the winds and summoned the rain in Hangcheng City and could blot out the sky with one hand, now found himself somewhat at a loss. By all rights, whenever he personally made a move, no one in Hangcheng City should be able to withstand his presence!
Could it be that I've been in seclusion for too long? Has the younger generation forgotten the great name of Yu Tai? Have they gradually lost their awe for a god-like figure such as myself?
"Young man, do you really not know who I am? Do you not understand what my name means in Hangcheng City?" Yu Tai asked once more, holding his breath.
Shen Fanyun stuffed his phone into his pocket and stood up. "Does that have anything to do with today's conflict?"
Yu Tai was speechless. This response made him feel as though he'd been slapped across the face. Where did this brazen, disrespectful punk come from? No sense of propriety? No respect for his elders?
"Just state your business. Everything else is irrelevant," Shen Fanyun said flatly. "So what if you could call the winds and summon the rain in your youth, or shake all of Hangcheng City with a stomp of your foot? That's all in the past."
Yu Tai was speechless again. Is this kid subtly mocking me, saying I'm old and completely useless? Are youngsters with no hair on their chins already trying to pull a tooth from the tiger's mouth?
"First, ask your granddaughter what exactly she did to earn herself a slap," Shen Fanyun reminded him.
A corner of Yu Tai's mouth twitched, but his tone remained as stern as ever, his entire being exuding an unforced authority. "I don't need to inquire about such things. I only look at the result."
"The result is that you struck my most cherished, most beloved granddaughter. That alone is enough to condemn you! The other minor details are unimportant to me!"
This old coot. Shen Fanyun had expected him to shield his own, but he hadn't thought he'd be this shameless, not even bothering to put up a front in public. Or had he just gotten used to being arrogant? Since no one dared to provoke the Yu Family, there was no need to waste time on pretenses. 'I'm the greatest in the world. I'll step on whoever I dislike. You don't like it? Tough! Just suck it up!'
"If she hadn't been asking for it, I wouldn't have bothered hitting her," Shen Fanyun said. "I'm a busy man. I don't have time to waste on nobodies. Since she couldn't help but ask for trouble, wasn't getting hit an expected outcome?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, completely unintimidated by this old, established king.
"Trash like you thinks you're worthy of touching me?" Yu Zhou shrieked. "You should take a piss and look at your own reflection! Haha, what a frog in a well. My grandfather is here in person; you're dead today! Cherish what little life you have left, because very soon, you'll be a corpse!"
Yu Zhou clenched her teeth, her gaze fixed coldly on Shen Fanyun. She couldn't wait another second. This bastard had to pay a terrible price for his actions today. She planned to first break Shen Fanyun's limbs, then slice off his flesh piece by piece, and bring over a dog to feed it the pieces as she cut!
"Didn't I already touch you?" Shen Fanyun quipped. Is this girl a little forgetful? Just ten minutes ago, I slapped her so hard she knelt on the ground, wailing and crying. Now she's acting like a completely different person, having forgotten the whole thing?
Yu Zhou was speechless.
Shen Fanyun's counterattack left the treasured young lady of the Yu Family dumbfounded. She touched her swollen cheek, which was still throbbing with pain. She pursed her lips, her expression slightly unnatural. It was true; Shen Fanyun had indeed beaten her, and very harshly at that. In her entire life, it was the first time Yu Zhou had suffered such inhuman treatment. She wasn't as formidable as she had imagined; not everyone cowered before her. At the very least, Shen Fanyun had the courage and audacity to beat her.
"Don't think so highly of yourself. When I hit you, I don't need to give anyone face, including your dear grandfather."
Before Yu Zhou could retort, Shen Fanyun shifted his gaze back to Yu Tai and warned again, "I advise you to take some time to understand the full story. I don't care what status or influence the Yu Family has in this city. Since she did something wrong, she must accept the punishment." Shen Fanyun flexed his fingers, his expression unchanging, as if Mount Tai could collapse before him without fazing him.
"Hmph." Yu Tai snorted, his tone turning icy and supremely confident. "Whether my granddaughter is wrong or not isn't for you to decide. That depends on my opinion. If I say she is wrong, only then is she wrong. If I say she isn't, who would dare to utter a single word of criticism? Even if she truly is wrong, as long as I say nothing, then in the eyes of the public, she is right!"
Here it comes. This old fossil is really going to throw away all his dignity just to protect his granddaughter.
"Are you sure that's your attitude?" Shen Fanyun asked.
With his hands behind his back, Yu Tai slowly and arrogantly tilted his head up. "Are you incapable of understanding what I'm expressing?"
WHOOSH!
The instant Yu Tai finished speaking, in the blink of an eye, Shen Fanyun appeared right in front of him, less than an arm's length away. This…
Yu Tai and the followers he had brought with him were all stunned. Where did this kid come from? His skills are terrifying! Teleportation? The ability to shrink the ground to an inch?
At that moment, even Yu Zhou felt a chill run down her spine. Her arrogant expression vanished, and she instinctively and cautiously hid behind her grandfather.
"You!" Yu Tai's face changed. Unable to maintain his previous dignity and composure, he opened his mouth as if to speak, but the words died on his lips. An immense, invisible pressure descended upon him, a sensation he hadn't felt for many years. As the seconds ticked by, the veteran powerhouse began to feel anxious, his brow furrowing deeper and deeper, his authoritative aura gone.
"Let me ask you just one thing." Shen Fanyun's voice was cold as he looked down on Yu Tai. "Don't you have any idea what kind of person your own spoiled granddaughter is? You can't seriously believe your granddaughter is some pure, innocent white lotus, can you?"
Yu Tai's brows knitted together, but he remained silent. Yu Zhou felt indignant but didn't dare speak up, lest she provoke another lesson. After all, Shen Fanyun's skills were clearly extraordinary; he was a troublesome opponent.
"I waited for you to come, hoping you would be reasonable. At the very least, I wanted to see if the Yu Family had any intention of handling this fairly," Shen Fanyun continued. "But who would have thought that you, an old fossil, would show up spouting a pile of nonsense, insisting that unless you give the word, no one can criticize your granddaughter even if she's wrong? What's with that? You think your authority is so great? Are you the Jade Emperor or something?"
Shen Fanyun took another step forward. Yu Tai's body swayed, and he clearly retreated two steps. His beard trembled, his expression now completely stripped of its former authority, replaced by a hint of embarrassment. This kid isn't giving me any face at all. Is he determined to make a mortal enemy of me, an established king of Hangcheng City's older generation?
"Young man, making an enemy of me is not a wise decision," Yu Tai said, trying to appeal to reason. "I advise you to think it over. I, Yu Tai, am not some nobody with an undeserved reputation. If things turn ugly, you'll be the one to suffer. You're ignorant of my true capabilities, so I'll be merciful and overlook your offense this once. But if you continue to push your luck, my patience will run out."
He attempted to reason with and intimidate Shen Fanyun into backing down. This was Hangcheng City, and Yu Tai still held some sway. After all, he had reigned supreme here for many years. The very fact that he was still alive and well was proof that he possessed methods and confidence far beyond that of ordinary people.
"I can give you one more chance. Adjust your attitude, then we can talk," Yu Tai emphasized again.
Shen Fanyun couldn't be bothered to waste any more words. He simply raised his hand and swung a slap.
"How daring! You're courting death!"
A thin, middle-aged man behind Yu Tai roared in fury upon seeing Shen Fanyun's offensive move. With a bellow, his fingers formed an eagle's claw, shooting toward Shen Fanyun's throat.
BOOM!
"Noisy!" Shen Fanyun didn't even glance at him. With his gaze still locked on Yu Tai, he casually sent a palm strike sideways. It was incredibly casual, like a trivial, everyday gesture.
A sharp white light exploded between Yu Tai and Shen Fanyun. Before anyone could react, the middle-aged man beside Yu Tai was sent flying by the blow.
SPLAT.
In mid-air, he coughed up a spray of crimson blood. The sight made Yu Tai's scalp tingle.
It seems I've severely underestimated Shen Fanyun's strength. This follower has been with me for decades. He's a genuine master, yet he couldn't even take a single blow from Shen Fanyun? And not only that, he's gravely injured.
BANG!
The moment the man hit the ground, a sickening crunch of shattering bones echoed. It was horrifying. He couldn't get back up.
This… 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Yu Tai's beard trembled. Now, as he looked at Shen Fanyun, a deep apprehension filled his eyes. He had greatly, greatly underestimated the young man's skills. When did Hangcheng City produce such an unfathomably powerful young king? Why was he completely unknown before this? This makes no sense.
Yu Tai pursed his lips, silent for two seconds before asking, "May I be so bold as to ask your name?"
"My surname is Shen. My given name is Fanyun," Shen Fanyun introduced himself.
The name didn't elicit much of a reaction from Yu Tai, but the surrounding onlookers instantly scattered like birds and beasts, putting as much distance as they could between themselves and him.
Isn't that the notorious King of the Chaos, the one rumored to have put a top scion like Han Feng in the hospital? This…
"That's him! He's the one they call the number one troublemaker in Hangcheng City right now!"
"That guy is a real handful, completely lawless. He doesn't even respect Han Long, so it's no wonder he dares to offend Old Master Yu Tai today!"
