After Being Betrayed I Married the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 247: What does this have to do with you?
Xu Fang was instantly furious, her expression darkening. After all, she was a senior who had debuted several years before Lu Feiyan; she was unequivocally Lu Feiyan’s senior from the same agency.
This newly popular artist was telling her to get lost? The farther, the better?
"Lu Feiyan, you’re too presumptuous! Is this how you treat a senior, a colleague from your own company?"
"No wonder everyone turned against you during this incident. With such a despicable character and no respect for your elders, who knows how arrogant you’ll become if you actually manage to secure your position. Heh."
Xu Fang continued her tirade. In her capacity as a senior, she ranted about teaching Lu Feiyan a lesson so she would finally learn how to be a decent person and respect the predecessors who had made significant contributions to the industry.
"Fine. I’d love to see how you plan to teach me a lesson."
"Go on. I’ll be sitting right here, waiting for you."
Lu Feiyan lifted her beautiful, sharp-featured face, her arms wrapped around her guitar. She stared with a half-smile at the agitated Xu Fang, who was itching to make a move.
Xu Fang was suddenly stunned.
If Lu Feiyan had kept arguing with her, I might have found an opportunity to punish her properly. After all, I could have framed it as Lu Feiyan starting the verbal abuse, making my own actions a matter of self-defense. But now, she’s just calling my bluff, telling me to go ahead... This...
Xu Fang suddenly hesitated.
After all, this new artist enjoys the company’s top-tier resources. She obviously has powerful backing. Even though she’s embroiled in a scandal, it’s not like her sponsor has completely abandoned her yet. If I act rashly and it leads to serious trouble, what will I do? Even if I can’t stand her, I should wait until she’s been deserted by everyone, shelved by the company, or even kicked out entirely.
"What’s the matter? Don’t you dare?" Lu Feiyan blinked, asking Xu Fang with a smile.
Xu Fang was speechless.
"Hmph, I can’t be bothered to argue with a bitch like you. I’m a civilized person; hitting you would only dirty my hands, heh," Xu Fang scoffed. "To plagiarize and still not admit it... you’re truly shameless. You’re not just losing your own face, you’re disgracing our Jinhai Company. Do you have any idea what our senior colleagues think of you?"
Lu Feiyan’s eyes suddenly lit up.
"You’re a civilized person. Coincidentally, I’m not." Shen Fanyun stubbed out his cigarette and strode over to Xu Fang.
He shot his hand out.
He grabbed a fistful of Xu Fang’s hair and yanked hard. The young woman lost her balance and fell heavily to the ground.
"You, you, ahhh!"
Caught completely off guard, Xu Fang felt a sharp, searing pain that made her mind go blank before she could even scream.
Why did someone just hit me? This...
"What did you just call Feiyan?" Shen Fanyun crouched in front of Xu Fang, lightly tapping her cheek with his fingers.
"You... you’re in this together?" Xu Fang’s eyes widened.
Shen Fanyun sneered, "I asked you a question."
"That’s right! Lu Feiyan is a bitch, a complete and utter bitch! What about it?" Xu Fang shot back defiantly.
SLAP!
Shen Fanyun struck her hard across the face. Blood immediately started pouring from Xu Fang’s nose and mouth, and several of her teeth felt loose.
"I didn’t hear you clearly. Say it again," Shen Fanyun demanded.
Xu Fang was silent.
Who is this person? How can he just hit someone in broad daylight? And with such viciousness... is he trying to kill me?
"You... you... I’m a well-known artist at Jinhai Company! I have status in the entertainment industry! You... you dare to offend me for Lu Feiyan? Do you even know what you’re doing?"
SLAP!
Shen Fanyun slapped her again. He nodded. "That’s right, I’m offending you. So what?"
Xu Fang was speechless again.
"Lu Feiyan, are you fucking dead? You’re just letting him beat me like this? Do you really think you can get away with it by just pretending not to see?" she shrieked, her eyes darting to Lu Feiyan. "Tell him to stop! Now!"
Lu Feiyan turned a deaf ear to her, choosing instead to tune her guitar strings as if she hadn’t seen Xu Fang’s miserable state at all.
Xu Fang was at a loss for words.
Shen Fanyun glanced back, his brows furrowed. "How can you tolerate this kind of jumping, worthless scum? Even if you didn’t want to bother me, couldn’t you have let Wang Tuohai handle it?"
Lu Feiyan shrugged. "It’s manageable." She paused. "Besides, now that you’re here, I already feel much better."
Her demeanor remained as cool and detached as ever, as if worldly matters had nothing to do with her, forever standing apart.
Wang Tuohai? Xu Fang’s ears perked up. She knew perfectly well that he was the big boss of their Jinhai Company. Yet, Shen Fanyun had just used his full name so casually, as if the big boss was his subordinate. This...
"Did Feiyan provoke you?" Shen Fanyun’s piercing gaze fixed on Xu Fang.
Xu Fang’s mouth fell open as she tried to defend herself. "Well, no, she didn’t provoke me directly, but she plagiarized someone’s work! Her behavior is despicable!"
"Did she plagiarize *your* work?" Shen Fanyun asked again.
Xu Fang had no answer.
"Since this has nothing to do with you, what are you making a scene for? What business is it of yours? If there really is a problem, that’s the responsibility of the company’s leadership. Who the hell are you to be pointing fingers here?"
Xu Fang remained silent.
SLAP!
Shen Fanyun slapped her again, so hard that Xu Fang almost fainted.
It hurts so much. I’ve never felt pain like this in my entire life. And I’m an artist; I rely on my face to make a living... Is he trying to ruin my looks?
"I... I..." Xu Fang was terrified, but her heart still burned with indignation.
Not daring to confront Shen Fanyun, she turned her sights back on Lu Feiyan. "Lu Feiyan, you’re in trouble now! You’re in huge trouble! You actually condoned a villain slapping a company senior, and you didn’t intervene or stop it for a second. Am I to understand that you’re the instigator?"
Xu Fang’s voice was sharp with warning as she added, "I won’t let this go! Just you wait! I’m reporting this to the company!"
"No need for all that trouble." Shen Fanyun took out his phone and dialed Wang Tuohai directly.
When the call connected, Shen Fanyun said, "I’ll let this subordinate of yours explain it to you."
Xu Fang was utterly shocked.
When Shen Fanyun handed the phone to her, she was still in a daze. "Take it," he urged.
"This..." Trembling, Xu Fang took the phone. She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself.
"Hello, this is Wang Tuohai. Which department are you from?"
Xu Fang’s mind went blank. "Ah? The big boss?" She was completely dumbfounded. How could Shen Fanyun have a direct line to the big boss of her company?
"I asked which department you’re from. And who is your agent?" Wang Tuohai asked again, his voice laced with impatience.
Xu Fang couldn’t speak.
"I... I..." Her face turned deathly pale, and her breathing became ragged.
This is bad. I’ve really picked a fight with the wrong person this time.
