After Being Betrayed I Married the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 126: If I Want You Dead, There’s No Chance You’ll Live!
"Seeing Li Qiuchan look so defeated makes me feel thrilled," Lu Feiyan gleefully informed Shen Fanyun.
Shen Fanyun smiled but did not speak.
Back then, Li Qiuchan and Han Feng were in cahoots, almost driving him to a dead end. It was only natural for Lu Feiyan to hold a grudge. Without Li Qiuchan, perhaps Lu Feiyan and Shen Fanyun wouldn’t have been separated for over a decade. For Lu Feiyan, those ten years of torment were entirely Li Qiuchan’s fault.
"I presume this must be Miss Feiyan?" Wang Tuohai took his seat and greeted Lu Feiyan.
Lu Feiyan nodded. "Hello."
"I’ve never seen such a beautiful girl before. Hello, my name is Wang Tuohai," he introduced himself. His attitude toward Lu Feiyan was much more polite than it had been toward Li Qiuchan.
"Thank you, Mr. Wang, for the..."
Lu Feiyan suddenly froze. What was his name? Wang Tuohai? Wang Tuohai! The big boss of Jinhai Record Company?
"Mr. Wang... is he...?" Lu Feiyan looked at Shen Fanyun in shock, her wide eyes unblinking.
Shen Fanyun smiled. "He is indeed the one you’re thinking of."
Lu Feiyan immediately stood up, staring intently at Wang Tuohai’s face. As the head of an entertainment company, he often made public appearances, so his face was...
"It really is him, Mr. Wang," Lu Feiyan said in disbelief.
How does Shen Fanyun know such a person?
"Hahaha, it seems my reputation isn’t too shabby," Wang Tuohai said with a friendly demeanor, showing no sign of arrogance.
On the contrary, he seemed rather approachable? She wondered if this was his true personality, or if he was just acting this way because Shen Fanyun was here.
After some conversation, Wang Tuohai personally guaranteed he would tailor-make an album for her. He even planned a global launch to help her debut as quickly as possible.
This... Lu Feiyan was deeply flattered.
"I... I just love to sing. Becoming a superstar, especially on a global scale, is something I’ve never considered," Lu Feiyan said, waving her hand dismissively. It felt too unrealistic. Besides, with her love for freedom, Lu Feiyan wasn’t sure she could adapt to the life of a superstar.
"No worries. We’ll do everything according to your wishes," Wang Tuohai said, not pressuring her.
Lu Feiyan nodded, gradually starting to relax.
Still, the day’s events felt like a dream. Even after the dinner ended and Wang Tuohai had left, Lu Feiyan couldn’t snap out of it. She had never imagined that one day she could converse so pleasantly with such a tycoon.
"This feels like a dream," Lu Feiyan murmured.
Shen Fanyun tapped her lightly on the head. "And now? Is it still a dream?"
"Why did you tap me?" Lu Feiyan pouted, glaring at Shen Fanyun. "Don’t think I’ll forgive you easily just because you did all this. I am Lu Feiyan, the swaggering and cool Lu Feiyan! I have my own pride and temper!"
Lu Feiyan shook her small fists at him.
Shen Fanyun hummed in response. "Alright, alright, I know. You’re Lu Feiyan, the swaggering and cool Lu Feiyan!"
After a few seconds of silence, Lu Feiyan suddenly commanded, "Crouch down."
"What for?" Shen Fanyun asked, perplexed, but he complied.
Lu Feiyan chuckled and jumped onto his back. "This lady is tired and doesn’t want to walk. You’re carrying me!"
Is she treating me like a beast of burden?
Shen Fanyun supported her behind with both hands and straightened his back. Few people were out on the streets at night. The cool breeze on his face felt like a momentary flashback to their youth, back when they were seventeen or eighteen.
"These have grown quite a bit," he remarked seriously.
Lu Feiyan grumbled, still holding onto past grievances. "Back then, you used to call me ’steamed bun.’ Heh." Then she added, "They’re not small anymore, are they?"
Shen Fanyun nodded. "Not small at all. I reckon they’re almost as big as my head."
Lu Feiyan was speechless. What kind of weird comparison was that? How could they be that big?
"When you become a star, where would you most want to hold a concert?" Shen Fanyun asked, looking toward the future with her.
Lu Feiyan covered her mouth and chuckled, rubbing her chin against his shoulder. "Hahaha, I don’t even know if I’ll make it big. I don’t dare to think about things like that."
"With me here, you’ll definitely make it big!"
Was this his way of making up for the guilt he felt over the past ten years?
Ten years. A girl’s most beautiful and vibrant decade, yet because of him, she had trapped herself in a prison of her own making. Surely, those ten years hadn’t been happy or easy for Lu Feiyan. But that didn’t matter now, because this time, Shen Fanyun didn’t plan on leaving.
"Did you date anyone in these ten years?" Shen Fanyun asked, knowing full well what the answer was.
Sure enough, his question was met with a heavy punch. Pouting, she hit him so hard that he grimaced, annoyed at his own foolish tongue. Besides him, would Lu Feiyan even look at another man?
"You’re so annoying," she said. Still not satisfied, she clung to his shoulders and bit him.
Shen Fanyun was exasperated. "We’re just talking, why’d you have to go and bite me?"
"Because I wanted to." Lu Feiyan hugged him tightly. No matter how he shook her, she firmly refused to get down.
Tonight, Li Qiuchan was completely distracted. The resident housekeeper noticed her strange mood and went to bed early.
A short while later, a young man pushed open the front door and walked in. It was Han Feng.
He saw Li Qiuchan sitting on the sofa, sullen, with her arms wrapped around herself. He asked with a hint of confusion, "Why aren’t you asleep yet? Is something bothering you?"
Han Feng walked over and pulled her into a deep embrace.
Li Qiuchan remained silent.
"What’s wrong, my little darling?" he asked patiently, tapping her nose.
Li Qiuchan stared at him blankly. Her eyes gradually reddened, tears welling up as if about to spill over. It was the first time Han Feng had ever seen her look so lost and despondent.
He sat up, his expression turning serious. "What happened?"
"Someone bullied me," she said, burying her face in his chest as her tears finally broke free, streaming down her cheeks.
Han Feng was baffled. "Here in Hangcheng City, who would dare to bully you? They must be tired of living!"
"It’s him. He’s back!"
"Him?" Han Feng lifted her face. "Who are you talking about?"
"Shen Fanyun!" As Li Qiuchan uttered the name, she could barely contain the fury that raged within her. The man was a thorn in her side, a barb in her flesh. The mere mention of him made her skin crawl.
"What?" Han Feng didn’t seem to process it at first. When Li Qiuchan repeated the name, his face instantly turned grim. "I warned him back then. If he ever dared to return to Hangcheng City, I would definitely kill him. He actually ignored my warning!"
Han Feng hated disobedient people most of all, especially a piece of trash like Shen Fanyun, whom he loathed to the very core of his being.
"Damn," Han Feng cursed. No wonder Li Qiuchan was in such a low mood. That lingering pest, Shen Fanyun, had returned.
