After Bankruptcy, the Billionaire Asked Me to Marry Him!-Chapter 242: I’m Serious About Building a Career!
"What... what did you say?"
"I’m sorry, Miss, but there really isn’t a Ye Li’s Studio in this building..."
When Wan Mingyi arrived at the foot of the Jingyue Building, it was just nine-thirty.
Her heart had leapt with excitement at the thought of Ye Li’s Studio being in the Jingyue Building, but plummeted when the receptionist said that no such place existed.
Had she gone to the wrong place?
Or... had Ye Li lied to her?
That thought hardly crossed her mind before Wan Mingyi resolutely dismissed it.
Although Ye Li was only 20 years old and still a college student, her enthusiasm and kindness alone, which revealed Chen Jiayuan’s Lovesickness was a copy, convinced Wan Mingyi that she was not a scammer.
Besides, with nothing to her name, what was there worth scamming?
If a boyfriend of three years could turn against her overnight, what could Ye Li, a stranger she had just met, possibly be after?
She opened her phone’s map, searching for Jingyue Building. The result showed there was only one Jingyue Building in Imperial City, right behind her.
And Ye Wan had made it clear too, it was right here, in the busiest part of the city center.
Ye Li wasn’t wrong.
Nor was the map.
So, where did the mistake lie?
The sun was brilliant, the air chilly, Wan Mingyi stood in the bustling square, not even mustering the courage to dial Ye Li’s number.
Fearing that several days of anticipation and joy would all turn to nothing.
"Sister Mingyi..."
The bright call came from afar, and Wan Mingyi looked up, her eyes sparkling with light.
The breath that had been caught in her chest was finally released with a heavy sigh.
Ye Li, in a camel coat, hurried over with a bright smile, "Why are you here so early?"
"And aren’t you early too? You’re the boss after all." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
With the weight off her chest, Wan Mingyi smiled and walked into Jingyue Building following Ye Li.
"It’s a bit humble, please don’t mind, Sister Mingyi... but rest assured..."
Out of the elevator and down the corridor, Ye Li smiled, "When it comes to business, I’m serious!"
Wan Mingyi smiled.
Turning into the hallway, she spotted the quaint yet striking sign "Ye Li’s Studio".
Then, entering the door of the studio, Wan Mingyi looked around, dumbstruck, "Ye Li... you call this humble?"
The golden floor of the city center.
The spacious and bright open workspace.
Stylish and unique decoration.
Although the air was still tinged with the fresh smell of paint and a faint fragrance from cleaning, Wan Mingyi inexplicably felt as if she had visited this place in her dreams.
Busy at the desk designing.
Taking breaks with a glass of water, looking out over Imperial City’s hustle and bustle from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Late overtimes, stretching lazily under the enchanting night sky and the myriad lights of Imperial City.
The stars and city lights shone from afar, yet none could outshine the light she had lit for her dreams in her heart.
What seemed like a mere fairy tale, something she only dared to indulge in when dreaming at midnight, was now realized, thanks to Ye Li!
As lost and scared as she had been downstairs,
She was now thankful and overjoyed.
Wan Mingyi looked at Ye Li with shining eyes, "Ye Li, thank you!"
"I should be thanking you!"
Ye Li opened her arms for a big hug, "Sister Mingyi, if it weren’t for you, my fighting spirit would still be struggling to emerge. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to step toward my dreams!"
"And thank fate for bringing us together!"
With a playful wink, Ye Li pointed to Wan Mingyi’s workspace, "Come on, let’s discuss our work direction."
"Okay!"
The sound of footsteps echoed, soon replaced by the two exchanging ideas back and forth.
The sunlight outside the window grew increasingly brilliant.
Inside the studio, behind the floor-to-ceiling windows, was a world of brightness and warmth.
