After a Contractual Marriage, Little Taotie Went Viral!-Chapter 172 - 170: Mother-in-Law and Daughter-in-Law Team Up to Prank Pei Yan
Qin Yun looked at Pei Yan’s handsome face, which was so close to her, and a hint of mischief flashed in her eyes.
She quietly slipped out of Pei Yan’s embrace, then hurriedly handed him the blanket to hold, while she went to the study to dip a brush in some ink. Just as she was about to sneak back, she bumped into Mrs. Pei, who had just finished breakfast and was coming upstairs.
"Yunyun, what are you doing with the brush?" Mrs. Pei asked, puzzled.
Qin Yun awkwardly hid the tool behind her back in an instant, "Oh, I’m taking it to write something. You haven’t had breakfast or lunch yet, right? Have you eaten?"
Mrs. Pei didn’t think much of it and nodded, "Just ate, came upstairs to grab something."
"Alright then, I’ll head back to the room." Qin Yun said and prepared to make her exit.
After Qin Yun left, Mrs. Pei was walking towards the room and suddenly felt something wasn’t quite right. Approaching Pei Yan’s room, she was about to knock when she noticed the door wasn’t closed. She saw Qin Yun lying on the bed, bent over, doing something unknown.
She hesitated for a moment but eventually pushed the door open and entered. Then she saw her son still in bed, apparently not awake.
As she approached to take a closer look, Qin Yun was using the brush to draw on Pei Yan’s face.
Mrs. Pei watched for a while and then said, "Why not add two little horns?"
Qin Yun was startled and her hand shook for a second, causing the fang she was drawing on Pei Yan to tilt off to the side.
She reflexively looked back and saw Mrs. Pei standing by the bed, not knowing how long she’d been there. She stammered and asked, "How... how did you get in here?"
She glanced at the evidence on Pei Yan’s face...
There was no time to cover it up...
If suggestions were being made, it meant... whatever should be seen and should not be seen had probably already been seen...
Engaging in playful antics on someone’s son’s face while he was asleep and getting caught red-handed by his mother.
If it were anyone else, they might be so embarrassed they’d want to dig a hole and bury themselves.
But who is Qin Yun? As long as she wasn’t embarrassed, it would be others who would be.
"Don’t be nervous, I think it’s pretty well done. Yan’er is so grown up and I’ve never seen this side of him. I should be thanking you," Mrs. Pei said soothingly.
"Did you just say to draw little horns?" Qin Yun had calmed down and asked steadily.
"Yeah, drawing two small horns on the temples would be quite fitting," Mrs. Pei said.
Qin Yun stared at the unfinished drawing on Pei Yan’s face, pondered for a moment, and nodded, "Makes sense."
Then the two occasionally whispered discussions on how to draw.
Before long, Pei Yan felt a coolness on his cheek and slightly furrowed his brow, reaching out habitually to pull someone back to his embrace, but found no one there, and his eyelashes trembled.
The two froze immediately on the spot.
Seeing that Pei Yan was about to wake up, there was no time to leave, so Qin Yun could only hide the pen behind her in time, coincidentally meeting Pei Yan’s gaze as he woke.
Pei Yan noticed the presence of someone else, sat up warily, and saw that besides Qin Yun, there was an additional presence.
It turned out to be Mrs. Pei.
"Mom? What are you doing here?" Pei Yan frowned and gave her and Qin Yun a once-over.
Wasn’t he just sleeping with Qin Yun?
How come when he woke up she was suddenly gone from his arms and his mom was in his room?
Did something happen while he was asleep that he didn’t know about?
After all, since Pei Yan grew up, the room had become his personal domain, and his mom hardly came into his room anymore.
"Uh... I came in looking for Yunyun for something, I’ll leave now," Mrs. Pei said, patting Qin Yun’s shoulder and then turning to leave.
"Since you’re awake, I’ll head out too," Qin Yun stepped back, got up, and prepared to leave.
"Wait." Pei Yan suddenly called from behind.
Qin Yun froze in place.
"Turn around," Pei Yan continued.
Qin Yun had no choice but to hide the tool behind her once more, with a flattering smile, asked, "What’s up?"
Pei Yan crossed his arms and leaned leisurely against the bedhead, asking, "What were you doing just now?"
Qin Yun watched as Pei Yan’s face, with the drawing on it, moved as he spoke. The fangs beneath his lips seemed to vividly animate, amusing Qin Yun to the point of almost failing to suppress her laughter, she said, "Nothing much."
Pei Yan squinted dangerously, slightly tilted his chin, and glanced at her hand, indicating, "What’s in your hand?"
Qin Yun quickly switched the brush to the other hand, raised her left hand to show him, and said innocently, "Nothing."
Pei Yan instantly noticed the mark on her hand, "What’s with the black spot on your thumb?"
"Must be mascara," Qin Yun lowered her gaze, hiding the guilt in her eyes, rubbed the spot between her finger and thumb.
"You’re hiding something from me," Pei Yan stated, staring into Qin Yun’s eyes.
"No," Qin Yun shook her head without hesitation.
Pei Yan nodded, "Then bring out the thing in your right hand and tell me, why were you laughing just now?"
Qin Yun: "..."
Suddenly, she wondered why she’d even found Pei Yan cute moments ago, must be not fully awake causing her vision to be blurry.
"Hmm?" Pei Yan elongated the tone.
Qin Yun, looking all straightforward, took out the brush from her hand, "Just now, mom said she wanted to learn calligraphy, I was planning to teach her."
"On my face, learning to write with a brush? Do you think I’m stupid? Or are you stupid?" Pei Yan raised an eyebrow.
"Pfft—"
Watching Pei Yan raise an eyebrow, it shifted the drawing on his face, and Qin Yun couldn’t hold back and let out a laugh.
Looking over, she saw Pei Yan’s face darken slightly, and she explained, "Ah, ah, I just thought of something, couldn’t hold it, definitely not laughing at you."
"Do you think I’d believe that?" Pei Yan started getting up from bed.
Seeing Pei Yan get up, Qin Yun immediately sensed danger and instinctively wanted to run.
But Pei Yan grabbed her by the waist, pushed her against the table, and casually picked up the mirror on table, taking a look at his own reflection.
Pei Yan’s face turned darker, "..."
Qin Yun: "..."
It’s over, discovered, doomed!
Relating back to his waking, seeing Mrs. Pei and Qin Yun both turned to look at him, now wasn’t any mystery left?
Pei Yan looked down at her, scoffed coldly, pointed to his own face, "Care to explain, what’s this about?"
Qin Yun blinked innocently, those peach-blossom eyes, "Weren’t you asleep... you wouldn’t let go of me, I was bored... so..."
"Besides, don’t you think it looks quite good?" Qin Yun seriously picked up the mirror Pei Yan was holding, motioning towards Pei Yan’s face in explanation.
Pei Yan wore an expression like: Keep talking, maybe I’ll actually believe you.
