African Entrepreneurship Record-Chapter 569 - 247: Spitting Blood with Anger
The Japanese government is action-oriented and decided to cause trouble for East Africa, preparing to implement actions. However, considering the gap between the two countries, they must use soft means to force East Africa to compromise.
East African Embassy in Edo.
"Ambassador Kade, from now on, on behalf of the government of the Empire of Japan, I express a solemn protest against your country’s occupation of our southern territories. Your country’s actions constitute an illegal occupation of the Empire of Japan’s territory and are a serious violation of international morality, which will be condemned by the international community."
Kade wasn’t intimidated at all: "Ha, if you like to protest, go ahead, but I think your Japanese government’s reaction is a bit exaggerated. After all, these Southern Ryukyu Islands are a transaction between us and the Far East Empire. What does it have to do with you small countries?"
Kade emphasized "small countries," mocking the mention of the Empire of Japan in front of him! How big? Neither Russia, the United States, nor East Africa claims to be big despite vast territories, yet these small countries insist on adding a "great" for superficial vanity, which is laughable.
Kade’s words infuriated the Japanese diplomat nearly to death, which made him believe Kohara Masaki’s previous words even more. But he was used to it. White people have always been arrogant; otherwise, Japan wouldn’t shamelessly attempt "Leaving Asia for Europe," secretly admiring the feeling, wishing they could replace them.
Other whites have said even more insulting things, like making fun of Japanese people’s short stature. So, such insulting language from East Africa has little effect on him.
Of course, it’s one thing for a Japanese diplomat, and another for other Japanese, who might have long since drawn their swords to fight Kade, as they’re willing to fight when insulted.
"Your Excellency, issues concerning territorial matters are naturally not a joke, and the entire Okinawa Islands have been our territory since ancient times..."
Before the words were finished, Kade interrupted, "Then that’s perfect. The Okinawa Islands are your territory; we recognize that. But on our East African maps, there’s only the Ryukyu Islands, and the Ryukyu Islands have nothing to do with the Okinawa Islands, so stop making unreasonable demands."
Kade’s ability to frustrate people was top-notch, deliberately playing dumb despite understanding it all. After all, diplomacy involves wordplay, and sometimes absurd arguments are a good tactic. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"You..." The Japanese diplomat almost choked on air. The East African diplomat was truly vulgar, lacking any cultural sophistication. In all his years, he’d never seen someone so shameless.
He was right; East African diplomats were exactly like this because East Africa lacked professional diplomatic personnel, with their own diplomatic talents still studying in Austria!
Suppressing his anger, the Japanese official said, "Your country repeatedly provokes the Empire of Japan. Are you not afraid of damaging our relations? Diplomacy is no small matter, so I can hold back, but further provocations will bring regret."
Kade found it interesting and said, "Are you threatening me?"
"I dare not, just hoping you would act impartially. Delaying your country’s interests is not in anyone’s favor; it would only benefit a third party."
Hearing this, Kade lost interest in teasing him further, as the person was impervious to reason. Thus, he became serious, revealing the demeanor of a diplomat, as if transformed.
"You hope I act impartially? Very well, then let us talk sense and see who is truly in the wrong, shall we?"
"That would be excellent. If my side is in the wrong, the matter regarding the Senkaku Islands will have nothing to do with Japan... I have nothing more to do with it!"
Here, the Japanese person was sly, saying "I" instead of the Japanese government. In case his words or actions were inappropriate and trapped by East Africa, he would become Japan’s criminal. By using "I," he could take full responsibility and, at worst, commit seppuku to honor the Emperor, earning a reputation for integrity.
Kade noticed the missing words, "Japanese government." It seemed this Japanese person wasn’t sincere, but Kade didn’t mind talking to him; it didn’t matter anyway if they couldn’t reach an agreement.
"You claim these Southern Ryukyu Islands are your territory? What’s your evidence?"
"Your Excellency, the Ryukyu Islands have been the Empire of Japan’s territory since ancient times. There is evidence, as they once paid tribute to our country and there are official documents to prove it."
"Then show me these documents?"
"This..." The Japanese official realized he might have chosen the wrong day to meet Kade, the troublesome star, feeling unlucky. He wished he had let a colleague handle this task.
Not to mention whether the Ryukyu Kingdom’s documents existed, if he dared to show them, Kade just might destroy the evidence right in front of him. Based on his previous encounters, he deemed German people as brutes likely to do such a thing.
Internally, he disdained the German people, considering them uncivilized and lucky to reach the ranks of powerful nations. As for East Africa, being essentially barbarians still in Africa, made him even more averse.
Europe is Europe, but there are divisions within, with countries looking down on each other, such as France, a cultural powerhouse. Previously, France was also strong militarily, yet in France’s eyes, Prussia was barbaric, and due to cultural discourse power, whoever France labeled as a barbarian was deemed so.
Prussian barbarians were viewed relatively better; Russia was outright expelled from Europe collectively. This included the Nordic pirates, even England fell into this category. Europe also looked down on each other, and despite appearing flawless, France was not exempt from other nations mocking Napoleon’s heritage to taunt the French.
Future reversals like calling France "the last man" could become rhetoric for insulting France, initiated by the United States to undermine France culturally, as a struggle for cultural discourse power.
In today’s era, France is culturally influential, setting standards for art, but in an era of survival of the fittest, cultural tools are not easily wielded.
Now, the Japanese official deeply resonated with French judgments of Germany, though, in reality, Germany was implicated because of East Africa, as East Africans were Germans, and Germany represented the German state, thus getting caught in the crossfire.
"Ha, can’t produce it, can you? Not to mention if your documents are forged, it’s not like we don’t have any. The Far East Empire has many Ryukyu Kingdom documents, which have been facts for centuries. The Far East Empire has a saying: ’covering one’s ears while stealing a bell.’ That’s exactly what the Japanese government is doing. Shamelessly, you’ve destroyed a nation, yet have the audacity to bring up state documents. I’ve never seen such shamelessness, repaying kindness with evil, a morally corrupt country. East Africa feels ashamed to be associated with such a nation, turning us into a joke in the international community..."
"You, you... poof..." Kade’s verbal assault caused the Japanese diplomat to vomit blood and black out from anger.
