Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 219: Outnumbered
With the sudden arrival of reinforcements the girls quickly adopted a defensive posture, the giant tiger still emanating a emerald glow as its wounds rapidly healed before their eyes.
Violets mind raced as she calculated the new threats, working hard to come up with a plan that will allow them to come out on top.
"Olivia and Susan distract the big one. Everyone else kill the small ones, then we finish the boss once the smaller ones are dealt with." She spoke with telepathy, the speed at which messages could be conveyed warranted the addition effort.
The girls did not dally in reacting to Violet's words, each of them taking to the new role quickly.
Luna and Rhyana each split off to charge at the nearest tiger, Luna emitting her domain of frost whilst electricity arced along Rhyana's body.
Violet began to bombard the 3 remaining smaller tigers with a constant barrage of attacks, effectively drawing their attention onto her. She did not remain still during this time.
Retreating to put some space between her and everyone else, the three beasts she had attacked dashing after her as fast as they could whilst also trying to dodge her magical onslaught.
Her bolts did minimal damage individually, yet with the sheer number that she conjured the damage would soon build up. Her spears however, they dealt true damage.
She got a lucky blow with one such spear, managing to impale through one beasts front leg, the explosion tearing the link from its body and sending the beast into a uncontrolled collapse forcing another to have to leap out of its way.
As the beasts closed in on her she began to employ nearly everything that she could. Beams of void landed out, cutting deep furrows into the flesh of anything they hit. Void runes slowly carved themselves into the floor in front of her, activating when one got too close and sending a lance of void energy straight up and nearly impaling the tiger that got too close.
Saddly their impressive reaction speed allowed the dungeon creature to leap backwards and avoid the fatal blow.
When they got too close to her Violet would blink away, appearing several meters away from them only to begin her barrage of attacks the very next moment.
Olivia meanwhile had headed straight towards the boss, its verdant glow diminishing now. It still held the scars of the wounds it suffered from the parties hands, yet the once painful wounds now no longer bothered the beast.
She slammed her shield into the bosses face, a reverberating gong rang out from the impact of steal against flesh. The boss was mostly unhurt from the attack, yet it was angered, focusing entirely on the human warrior and unleashing its retribution upon her.
Susan's support, in the form of a speed boost and a enhanced defence enabled Olivia to just nearly endure the beasts furious attacks.
She was still sent staggering backward with each blow that she endured, the thorny vines covering her shield inflicting only minor retaliatory damage in return.
Rhyana was struggling slightly with her foe. Whilst she was powerful for her level, she was not quite as overbearing at either Violet or Luna were. Plus this tiger was of a slightly higher level than the ones that her group had already defeated on their way towards the boss.
So It was that she was managing to hold her own, she opted to go for a slightly reckless strategy. Forgoing defense in favour of overwhelming offense.
Rhyana coated her fist in as much electricity as she could, her hands glowing with the intensity of her magic. She leapt in, the tiger doing the same.
Fist met claw in a shockwave of sparks,it was the tiger that was knocked back in the first clash. Then they collided again, and again. Each time Rhyana would come out the victor, yet she did not get away without injury, cuts began to accumulate across her body but she managed to limit their placement to areas that would limit the true damage dealt to her.
Whilst her style may be viewed as reckless if she were to be fighting by herself, Rhyana was not truly fighting alone. A soothing film of water soon covered her wounds, the cuts closing up with incredible speed thanks to her companions timely aid. That aid was the deciding factor in her fight, allowing her to overwhelm her foe and pull out a victory.
Luna took a different approach to Rhyana, opting to outclass the tiger in evasiveness and speed. Her 3 illusions acting as distraction and executioner all in one.
Whenever the tiger attacks one body 2 more would attack it right back. Her stacks of chain strike steadily building up, already having some charge left from the earlier fight with the large feline. Her fight was clinical, cold and ruthless, she gave the tiger no respite unwilling to allow her own companion to remain alone against greater numbers than was necessary.
With frost steadily accumulating to slow down the tiger its fate was inevitable.
Violet meanwhile was burning through her mana, constantly being forced to blink away whilst maintaining maximum magical output. The 3 foes that hounded her however, refused to allow the slippery dragon to escape unscathed.
Thorns shot from the ground towards her, she blocked some with a hasty shield yet was unable to block them all. Small cuts soon accumulated across her body, yet she dealt as much damage as she received.
Several nasty wounds covered the tigers chasing after her, the one with no leg was now in a near death state, only holding on out of pure spite as it relentlessly chased Violet down.
Yet just before she was truly cornered and overwhelmed a spear of ice impaled the legless tiger, it stabbed through the neck of the beast causing it to stiffen for a moment, before it fell to the floor in a pool of its own blood.
Then a powerful bolt of lightning passed straight through another, its body locking in place as the powerful currents passed through its body. Rhyana soon rematerialised, tuning around and delivering a powerful uppercut to the temporarily stunned tigers chin.
The last tiger looked around in surprise upon noticing this, yet that small distraction
allowed Violet to land 2 spears, one in its chest and the other in its head. A muted explosion was soon followed by the wet thud of the dead beast collapsing to the ground.
It only took a few more moments for the other two beast to be put down, allowing the 3 damage dealers to once more refocus on the boss.
The oversized cat was still wailing on Olivia, her shield now supporting deep cuts and nicks, her armour also supported some
it's and dents, yet they had done their job and protected the woman underneath.
Still Olivia was in a sorry state, only kept alive thanks to her armour and Susan's timely support.
The dungeon boss was so engrossed in attacking the armoured human that it failed to even notice that its summons had been killed, so it was quite surprised when the 3 ladies rushed back in with deadly intent.
A barrage of void spears impaled the beasts side, exploding and removing large chunks of flesh in a single blow. Then as it was about to turn in the direction the atta is came from its body was shocked by a powerful bolt of electricity, proving enough time for Luna to freeze its feet to the floor and for her illusions to jump onto its back, each one stabbing its sword down into its flesh.
Olivia was not to be outdone, rushing forwards with what was left of her strength, her shield slammed down on the frozen boss with enough force to send it staggering back and the ice holding it in place was shattered.
From there the 5 girls rained damage down on the oversized cat, void, ice, lightning, water and nature itself all converged to whittle down the boss until it could no longer withstand the onslaught.
Soon the last strike was landed by a void spear that pierced right into the creatures eye, when it exploded a moment later half of the cats head went with it. The dungeon boss collapsing to the floor a moment later.
