Adventurer's Guild Café: I Was Wrongfully Exiled by the Saint, So I Will Enjoy My Second Life with My Fluffy Friends-Chapter 4.3 - The Warm Sun and Kunas Change
“Kuna, could you take this to Yan’s diner?”
It was a quiet morning with only a few people around.
Dan handed me a basket filled with condiments as he spoke.
“They said they were running low at the diner. After you drop this off, go ahead and take your lunch break.”
“Understood. Thank you!”
It was just before eleven.
I usually get an early lunch break, so by the time I deliver this, it should be just right.
I took the basket and called over Lulu and the others.
“Roon!”
“Pi-pii!”
“Alright, let’s go, everyone.”
Today was another beautiful day in Finaldatt.

I walked through the guild’s bustling entrance hall and stepped outside.
The fluffy ones I had been carrying whined about wanting to walk on their own, so I put them down on the ground.
Lulu pranced ahead of me, while the Pipi chicks chirped as they trailed behind.
So cute. They remind me of a family of ducks.
Now that I think about it, everyone’s grown so much.
“Hey, Lulu, you’ve definitely gotten bigger since we first met, don’t you think?”
“Ru?”
Lulu turned back and tilted her head.
The gemstone on her forehead shimmered like a flickering flame as always.
“Look at your tail and tummy fur—they’ve gotten so fluffy!”
“Roon!”
“I thought maybe you’d gotten chubby, but it’s really just growth, huh? Even the stone on your forehead looks bigger.”
In the end, I still don’t really know what a Carbuncle is.
I tried looking it up in a bestiary, but all I learned is that their juvenile form is rare.
Apparently, when they grow up, each one transforms into a completely different form.
Also, according to legends, Carbuncles are creatures that carry divine messages and appear before those in need.
But really, Carbuncles aren’t mythical creatures or anything like that—they still live in dungeons to this day.
So Lulu is probably just an ordinary creature.
“Pipi and the others have gotten rounder too.”
“Pi?”
Why are chicks so adorable?
Their whole bodies are covered in fluffy feathers, and they have those shiny, round black eyes.
Some people even like the way their tiny beaks peck at you—it’s so cute.
“Maybe you guys are just overeating.”
Seriously, spirits eat an unbelievable amount of food.
Apparently, everything they eat gets converted into magic energy, but even so, it’s shocking to see three of them finish off an entire apple pie.
“Don’t you want to go back to the dungeon?”
“Pii!”
Pipi shook its tiny head vigorously.
Guess they’re not planning to go back.
“Is it because there’s yummy food here?”
“...Pi.”
Haha, looks like I hit the nail on the head.
“I wonder what dungeons are really like.”
Gazing at the distant city, I murmured softly.
“I wonder what kind of sights are spread out inside that big cavern”
Of course, the inside must be dangerous, and only adventurers are allowed to enter, but I can’t help being curious.
“Someday, even just a little, I’d like to see it for myself.”
“Pi!”
The little chicks flapped their wings and flew over, nodding enthusiastically.
It was almost as if they were saying, “We’ll show you around!”
“Hehe. That’s true. If you ever learn to talk, I’d love to hear all about what’s inside.”
“...Pii?”
“Pi!”
“Pyuu!”
The three of them tilted their heads, huddled together as if in a huddle.
“Oh, right. Should I get something cute to decorate you guys with?”
Lulu is quite the fashionista and loves cute ribbons.
Recently, Ellen made her a silver medal with her name engraved on it, and she’s been wearing it around her neck. She seems to like it a lot.
“What kind of things would suit you, I wonder?”
I’ll have to ask Ellen about it next time.
She loves adorable things, so I’m sure she’ll come up with some good suggestions.
“Maybe we should get some plates or cups for you guys for the room too.”
“Ruu!”
“Lulu wants some soda, doesn’t she?”
“Pi!”
Lala nodded with sparkling eyes.
This light-blue fluffy creature loves cream soda, but the cups are too deep, and she always ends up almost drowning in it, getting sticky all over.
“Let’s go shopping in town sometime. I can shop by myself now.”
As I said that, I suddenly realized something.
I’d never really thought about what I wanted to do or what I wanted before… but now, it feels like I’ve started to have little things I want or things I’d like to do.
Stopping in front of the tavern, I looked out over the town.
A gentle breeze blew by, sweeping through my long hair.
“The warmth of the sun, the scent of the wind… these things are so peaceful and comforting.”
Things I didn’t understand before.
Feeling that something so ordinary and so close could be this comforting made me feel incredibly happy.
