Adored by Him: My Blissful Days as the Girl Next Door-Chapter 391 - 390: Of Great Origin
Shi Yang picked up two sets of exam papers: "Regarding my sister’s situation, I definitely want an explanation. Since you can’t handle it here, Principal, right? The work accident involving my sister was approved by the Principal. Okay then, I won’t talk to you anymore, I’m going to find the person who should be responsible."
Shi Yang finished speaking and went out.
The director quickly chased after him, but he saw Shi Yang and Xu Hongbin casually entering the Principal’s office with those two sets of papers.
They didn’t knock; they pushed the door open and walked in.
Director: ". . . . ."
The director stopped, staring at the tightly closed door of the Principal’s office, and after a while, he turned back to his own office, his face full of uncertainty.
Who is this person? . . . . Could he really know the Principal?
Before he could warm his seat, the office landline rang. He glanced at the caller ID and hurriedly answered: "Hello, Principal, yes, I’ll be right over."
The director pushed open the Principal’s office door and his heart sank when he saw the situation inside, knowing things were going badly. With a forced smile, he greeted, "Principal, did you call for me?"
In the Principal’s office, the Principal and Shi Yang sat facing each other. The young man who had followed Shi Yang was sitting next to the Principal, clearly, they were familiars in conversation.
The Principal gestured to the director: "Come and sit, let me introduce you. This is my nephew, Xu Hongbin, and this is Hongbin’s boss, Mr. Shi. This is our school’s teaching director, I believe you met earlier."
By the time the director sat on the sofa, sweat was running down.
The director girded himself and said proactively: "Principal, you called me because of Teacher Xiao Zhao’s matter, right? There might be some misunderstanding in this matter."
The Principal said: "I roughly understand the situation. Whether this is truly a misunderstanding, we’ll discuss it later. Among colleagues, you should quickly approve a notice to compensate Teacher Xiao Zhao and also help issue an internship certificate. After all, Xiao Zhao is studying to be a teacher and can use that for future job searches."
The director promised extra swiftly: "No problem, I’ll handle it as soon as I return." He then turned to Shi Yang and Xu Hongbin, grimacing with a smile: "You see, this really is a case of the flood washing away the Dragon King’s Temple. If you’d explained your identities at the outset, I’d have sorted it right away."
Shi Yang said with a faint, sarcastic smile: "That’s just great, actually I didn’t want to bother you, mainly I was worried about my sister."
Shi Yang looked at the Principal and said: "You might not fully understand the specifics, my sister is currently a university student. She used her holiday time to come and experience internship life early. She genuinely takes this internship work seriously; since starting, she hasn’t had a single night of early sleep, not only completing her workload but also doing Teacher Liu’s work."
As soon as he said this, the director’s face immediately changed.
Shi Yang asked: "I’ve always been curious, why does this Teacher Liu insist on staying in the position even though his health won’t allow him to teach or complete his own workload?"
Shi Yang added with a mocking tone: "No wonder the parents aren’t satisfied and went to the school to complain. The class under Teacher Liu is practically without a teacher; which parent can be willing to see such a situation?"
The Principal was stunned: "Were parents complaining at the school?" He turned to the director: "When did this happen?"
"Principal, this is actually a misunderstanding," the director said while looking at the Principal with sweat rolling down his cheeks. When he learned that the unassuming man accompanying Shi Yang was the Principal’s nephew, the director’s heart sank knowing he might be in trouble.
But it couldn’t all be blamed on him, could it? When these two showed up, they didn’t reveal their identities, so how was he supposed to know one was the Principal’s nephew? If he knew, he’d have immediately sorted the fine and proactively gotten an internship certificate for Zhao Meimei — such a straightforward task to ingratiate himself with leadership, only a fool wouldn’t do it.
Unfortunately, he didn’t know earlier, and unfortunately, he picked the wrong target to challenge.
Xu Hongbin, who hadn’t spoken, promptly supplemented the director’s remark: "Earlier the director told us that because there were six errors in the mock exam papers, quite a few parents complained to the school; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been classified as a teaching accident."
The Principal was taken aback, his face changed immediately, asking the director: "Why didn’t you report this to me?"
The director opened his mouth but suddenly realized he was in a difficult situation as he’d categorized the matter as a teaching accident himself. Now he didn’t know how to walk it back saying it wasn’t serious. While wrestling with his thoughts, he heard Shi Yang say: "My sister originally prepared the exam questions, after a thorough night’s work. Teacher Liu copied them but made six mistakes."
"I also feel that in fairness and reason, my sister shouldn’t be blamed for this incident, so I impulsively brought Xiao Xu along to demand an explanation."
When Shi Yang spoke, the director knew the situation had escalated and it would no longer be possible to cover up the issue.
By the end of the day, Shi Yang took the reimbursed three hundred yuan and an internship certificate provided by the school, bid farewell to the Principal with Xu Hongbin in the Principal’s office.
The Principal looked concerned, "I’m truly sorry about this matter; I was unaware, but rest assured, I will investigate thoroughly."
Shi Yang politely shook hands with the Principal, then left the language school with Xu Hongbin.
On the drive back, Shi Yang said to Xu Hongbin: "Thanks for today."
Xu Hongbin smiled and responded: "A verbal thanks, huh?"
Shi Yang laughed: "Oh, come on, didn’t you plan to stay a few days? Let’s arrange for your Mr. Zhang to join us, and I’ll treat you both to a meal."
Xu Hongbin quickly replied: "How can I let you pay? I’ve planned to treat both you and Mrs. Shi earlier but hadn’t had the chance. Let’s do it this time; you can’t compete with me over this!"
Shi Yang: "Alright, you treat."
Midway through the drive, Xu Hongbin suddenly said: "Mr. Shi, there’s something I’ve actually wanted to discuss with you."
Shi Yang casually replied: "What’s it?"
Xu Hongbin said: "I’m planning to liquidate my two maternal stores and wanted to get your thoughts."
Shi Yang was taken aback: "Why on earth would you want to liquidate them? You’re not planning to continue?"
Xu Hongbin: "Actually, I wish to join your company and help manage the early childhood education sector."
