Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle-Chapter 663 - 673: Getting the Certificate 3
Chloe Grant looked at the marriage agreement above her, perplexed, "How come..."
As she inquired, she dialed Jacob Lee’s number.
But the line was busy, and she couldn’t get through.
"He came by earlier and explained everything to me. You just need to sign on it, leave the rest to me," the staff member said with a smile.
Chloe put down her phone, still puzzled, "Isn’t there supposed to be a photo shoot and vows or something..."
Chloe hadn’t been married before, but she’d at least watched TV.
This isn’t how the process should be.
And without the groom, how could the wedding possibly proceed?
"That’s right. He arrived earlier than you, but then received a call and had to leave because he was in a rush, so he prepared the documents in advance and asked me to handle them.
As for the photos, don’t worry, he left the ones you previously took," the staff member explained.
At that moment, Chloe’s mind was flooded with one scene...
She indeed had taken wedding photos with someone.
Back then, while she and he were shopping, they noticed through the window at a studio two small red-themed wedding photos that evoked a special feeling, so she dragged him in to take photos together.
At first, he was quite reluctant, saying, "If you want photos, I’ll arrange for a photographer to take them another day."
At the time, Chloe just pulled him in, "Another day? I just like this place."
The girl in her memory was smiling so brightly, happiness written all over her face.
The man in her memory, though striking and handsome, had a powerful yet aloof presence.
Only when he looked at the girl did his eyes soften immensely.
"Miss... what’s wrong?"
The staff member’s question brought Chloe back to reality.
She blinked, only to find tears rolling down her cheeks, crashing onto her hand and shattering.
Chloe looked at the back of her hand, somewhat dazed.
"Miss, are you alright?" The staff member handed tissues to Chloe, watching her carefully.
Chloe sniffed and took the tissue to wipe away the tears from her eyes and the back of her hand, tossing the tissue into the nearby trash can.
"Sorry, just feeling a bit emotional all of a sudden," Chloe explained.
The other person smiled gently, "It’s alright. After all, getting married for the first time always brings a mix of excitement and reluctance."
The staff member said understandingly and then tapped the paper in front of Chloe with her finger, "Just sign your name, and we can take care of the rest for you."
"Alright."
Chloe picked up the pen beside her and found the place to sign.
Yet...
When she was about to sign her name, she couldn’t muster the strength...
At the same time, in a room at the Royal Hotel.
On the white bed that was supposed to be at the civil affairs bureau with Chloe Grant, Jacob Lee was lying there.
His eyes were closed, apparently asleep for quite some time.
About twenty minutes had passed when he suddenly opened his eyes, sitting up sharply from the bed.
The blanket slid down, revealing his bare upper body.
Covered with ambiguous scratches, it reminded him of the sensuous episode on this bed earlier.
A large mirror was placed in front of the bed, allowing Jacob to see his own state clearly.
Jacob looked on in shock, his mind blank, unable to retrieve any memory of what happened before.
He remembered...
Today was supposed to be the day he would register the marriage with Chloe Grant.
He had driven early to the civil affairs bureau to wait for Chloe, but then... what happened afterward?
Afterward, it seemed like a headache hit him, and then he lost all sense...
