Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle-Chapter 609 - 619: Insomnia 9
Chloe Grant and Zoe Graham chatted for a long time and very late into the night.
Before they realized it, it was already past 1 AM, and Zoe had to go handle some things on her end, so their conversation came to an end.
At the end of the chat, Chloe reminded Zoe: No matter what, make sure to finish your studies. Come back anytime, and I’ll be there to pick you up and help you settle in.
Zoe simply replied with two words: Thank you.
Putting her phone aside, Chloe rolled over and stared at the top of the tent, blinking her eyes.
"Chloe?"
Ralph Koch called from outside the tent, "Are you awake? If you are, I’ll make you something to eat."
Chloe’s stomach was growling; she was indeed hungry.
But she didn’t have the energy to get up, so she just pretended to be asleep.
Ralph called a few times, but Chloe didn’t respond, so he assumed she was already asleep and stopped calling.
Chloe kept her eyes closed, trying to hypnotize herself into sleeping.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t manage to hypnotize herself.
When you can’t sleep, you can’t sleep.
She stared blankly at the top, daydreaming.
But her body was so exhausted, making her feel very uncomfortable.
In the end, she flipped over, picked up her phone, and started gaming.
Today was the end of the competition season, and Chloe’s in-game level dropped significantly.
Matthew Morgan used to play for her or help her play.
Before Chloe could recover, Matthew’s game invite popped up.
Without thinking, Chloe instinctively accepted it, joining the game’s preparation phase, where Ralph was also present.
She barely noticed before the game began.
Then came a series of character selections and more.
Chloe thought, since it had started, might as well just play seriously.
They had a team of five, with the three of them together, and the other two teammates were a couple.
During preparation, their status was already displayed.
The couple turned on voice chat, and the girl seemed relatively weak, with a soft voice constantly calling for help.
The guy was playing as a shooter role and the girl as support, sticking close together in the battlefield of the game.
Watching the two, Chloe felt it was quite beautiful. A moment’s distraction, and she got killed by the opposing team.
"Damn!"
Chloe blurted out instinctively.
"Are you hungry?" Ralph typed.
"I’m so gonna take out the one who killed me!" Chloe responded angrily.
She absolutely hated getting killed in games!
In the past, to avoid being killed, she had sold out her teammates, tricked them, and more.
Leading to countless times when teammates cursed her, and she only replied: I’m afraid of dying.
It pissed her teammates off so much they didn’t want to bother with her.
"Come over."
Suddenly, a deep voice from Matthew sounded on Chloe’s phone.
Then the couple who was chatting earlier went silent...
Chloe was stunned for a moment, forgetting to respond.
"Come over, to the dragon’s side," Matthew said again.
Chloe happened to be nearby and wandered over, seeing the person who killed her earlier with low health.
Without a second thought, Chloe unleashed her ultimate move, and that person died.
Instantly, two small icons appeared on her phone screen with the word "Kill" between them.
"Damn, finally got my revenge!" Chloe was thrilled.
The entire mood was uplifted by the game.
"That person’s voice... is so nice,"
After a while, the girl from the couple softly remarked.
The guy didn’t respond.
The girl continued, "William, can we add each other as friends later? We often have a great time as a team."
