Accidentally Married to the Big Shot-Chapter 115 - The Mother-in-Law Arrives
Chapter 115: Chapter 115 The Mother-in-Law Arrives
Qiu Yurou had just finished a phone call with a girl overseas.
The girl’s name was Wan Man Yu, and she was the daughter-in-law Qiu Yurou had in mind; she felt that Wan Man Yu would be perfect for Gu Wei, and now she was just waiting for her to return to the country and for Gu Wei to come home.
Once the two met, Qiu Yurou had plenty of methods to bring them together.
But then she heard that Su Meixi had returned!
“Where did she return to?” Qiu Yurou asked Linda.
Linda was her special assistant, who helped with both life and work.
...
Linda said, “She’s back in the apartment that the second young master bought in the city.”
Gu Wei had always been reluctant to sell that apartment, and Qiu Yurou was worried about another Su Meixi popping up, so she had someone keep watch.
“What is she doing back at that apartment?” Qiu Yurou asked, “Didn’t that woman agree to a divorce? Her name seems to be… Su Meixi, right?”
Linda paused before stating, “According to my investigation, the second young master and Su Meixi have a hotel record in a county town at the border. Moreover, Su Meixi once provided medical support there for a year and a half, and coincidentally, the second young master was also serving there during that time. They might have reconciled during that period.”
Upon hearing this, Qiu Yurou’s nails dug instantly into her flesh, and her eyes seemed to spit fire.
…
It was already the end of the year, and since Su Meixi was returning to the hospital to work only after the New Year, she decided to properly arrange the home she shared with Gu Wei.
The master bedroom contained things Gu Wei had used, but the colors of his sheets and quilt were too plain, with a masculine style. She found them not warm enough, so she changed to a set with warmer colors.
The curtains were too cold in tone, so she replaced those, too.
She also fetched some personal items from the old house.
That day, while she was dusting the room, she heard the doorbell ring.
After coming back, she had only mentioned her return to Zhou Yuan, but Zhou Yuan and Mr. Zhou had gone to Sanya for a vacation, saying they would spend the New Year there directly.
The house was equipped with a video doorbell, which showed Qiu Yurou and her assistant standing outside.
At that instant, Su Meixi felt her scalp tingle.
However, what was bound to come would always come.
Since she had decided to spend the rest of her life with Gu Wei, she needed to face all the troubles that came with it.
She opened the door.
Facing Qiu Yurou’s cold expression, she forced a smile, then softly called out, “Mother.”
Qiu Yurou snorted coldly without saying a word, walking in and circling the inside of the house.
Her formidable presence made the room seem to drop several degrees in temperature instantly.
After a full circle, she approached Su Meixi.
Then she looked at Su Meixi with a crushing gaze.
Though the gaze couldn’t kill, it pelted down on Su Meixi like hail, on her body and her face.
Su Meixi held her ground, constantly encouraging herself in her mind: I must endure, I must endure.
“When did you come back?” Qiu Yurou finally spoke.
Su Meixi said, “A day ago.”
“Before, I told you to divorce Gu Wei, and you agreed readily, didn’t you? How come you are tangled up with Gu Wei again?” Qiu Yurou asked.
Su Meixi smiled, choosing not to answer directly but instead said, “Mother, why don’t you sit down first. I can report to you in detail what has happened over the past year.”
Having said that, Su Meixi was about to go make tea.
Qiu Yurou stopped her: “No need. What has happened between you and Gu Wei this past year, I’m not interested.”
Su Meixi’s hand holding the tea leaves paused.
Well, that saved her some effort.
Qiu Yurou looked at her again: “It’s true, you and Gu Wei have not yet divorced, you are still legally husband and wife, but I ask you, do you really want to be the Gu’s daughter-in-law?”
Su Meixi looked at her decisively: “I want to be Gu Wei’s wife.”
“Gu Wei is my Gu Family’s son. Marriage isn’t just about two people. You should understand that Gu Wei has responsibilities towards the Gu Family, so our family has requirements for a daughter-in-law. You are aware of these.”
Su Meixi bit her lip, then smiled: “I know, and I will be a good daughter-in-law.”
Qiu Yurou then glanced one more time at the setup of the home and smiled: “Do you think being a good daughter-in-law is as simple as changing curtains and dusting tables? Since you insist on being the Gu’s daughter-in-law, please pack up and move back to the Gu Family home today. I will teach you how to be a good Gu’s daughter-in-law.”
Su Meixi and Linda were both stunned.
Move back to the Gu Family’s home?
What exactly was Qiu Yurou planning in her heart?
If she moved back, wouldn’t that be announcing to all their relatives and friends that she was Gu Wei’s wife?
Su Meixi’s hand involuntarily clenched.
This was not so simple, this old lady must be plotting something!
“Mother, I’m quite comfortable living here, maybe it’s unnecessary to move back, isn’t it? Besides, you don’t like me, so living under your watch would just trouble you, wouldn’t it?” Su Meixi tried to reason.
Qiu Yurou gave a skin-deep smile: “It’s true, I am quite annoyed by you, but since you’re set on being the Gu Family’s daughter-in-law, as the matriarch, it’s necessary for me to properly train you.”
After saying that, Qiu Yurou signaled Linda with a glance.
Linda, getting the hint, quickly made a phone call.
Shortly after, several bodyguards arrived, claiming they were there to help Su Meixi with her luggage.
Su Meixi took a deep breath.
Qiu Yurou’s actions were extremely frightening.
She was able to arrange for people to come and pick up luggage today; what if she could arrange for someone to be admitted to a mental hospital tomorrow?
But then she thought, Qiu Yurou was the mother of Gu Cheng and Gu Wei; a mother of ill intentions likely couldn’t have given birth to such outstanding sons. She might just be a bit domineering, wanting to teach someone a lesson.
With that thought, Su Meixi put on an air of calmness: “Mother, since you have personally invited me back, then I will go back. I haven’t had much upbringing since I was little, so please do teach me well.”
Qiu Yurou’s sharp gaze was fixed on her: “Don’t worry, once we live together, there will be plenty of opportunities to teach you.”
…
Su Meixi had just moved back to the Gu Family home when Gu Cheng received the news.
As soon as he got the news, he hurried back.
“Mother… Xiao Xi?”
Seeing Su Meixi, Gu Cheng immediately sensed an ominous premonition.
He had been in meetings until now since yesterday; this morning Assistant Bai had been giving him meaningful looks and messaging him, but he had ignored them.
He should have looked at them earlier.
Upon seeing Gu Cheng, Qiu Yurou’s anger couldn’t find a place to land, “What are you doing back? You know what your brother has been up to during his service at the border, don’t you? He’s reconciled with his ex-wife; why didn’t you inform me? I had to go pick up my daughter-in-law myself.”
“Mother, why did you bring Xiao Xi back? Just let her stay in the apartment Gu Wei bought.”
“How could that be okay? My daughter-in-law should, of course, be brought back home. Can she be safe living alone outside? Can she receive proper care?”
Gu Cheng thought to himself: Give me a break, who doesn’t know what you’re really thinking?

“Mother, why don’t I move back home too? It will be livelier with more people in the house,” Gu Cheng suggested.
