Academic gathering with a lich-Chapter 809 - 750: The Internet Era
The administrator helped the player defeat the first world BOSS, followed by an exciting major update. Due to the nightmarish mechanics of the Nightmare BOSS or the administrator’s malicious exhaustion, players in desperate need of relaxation found their plight akin to being strangled by tentacles needing alleviation, thus many fun mechanics and new skills were added. These elements were hidden in the program before the Nightmare descended, similar to the Divine Artifacts unearthed by the Illusory Dream in the next version. The carrot and stick tactic, it must be said, some unscrupulous planners really took to the dark path quickly once they stopped being humane.
The rich rewards dropped by the BOSS made everyone feel the trip was worthwhile. The Berserker player Doludo obtaining the Divine Artifact was particularly motivating, although there were still some who expressed dissatisfaction. Accomplishing the feat of slaying the Godslayer and saving the Lady of Nature made all dream realm players incredibly proud. The revenge for racial hatred and an unparalleled sense of honor greatly satisfied the spiritual needs of the Dream Elves, making Lyle secretly curse how easy Elves are to deal with.
The Dream Elves were unaware that their status in the minds of the dogmatic administrators had further declined; they were immersed in the joy of the version update.
The Defender acquired the [Mounting] skill. Originating from the Kingdom of Knights, Dreya, a country known for its horseback warriors, the knights’ reputation was amusingly represented in the game. Perhaps it was Lyle’s sense of mischief, or maybe a grudge from the past, he removed many of the restrictions that should have applied to [Mounting], thus the Defender’s joy increased. The Defenders began mounting monsters, iconic buildings, and companions, especially those shape-shifting Druids. Although only a small part of the mounts could be used normally to enhance combat effectiveness, this didn’t prevent these mounting enthusiasts from linking their buttocks to someone else’s spine. Every day, leaving the towns in the dream realm, one could see scenes like a parade of stitched monsters reminiscent of school dismissal at Andrey’s Spirit Summoning Fraction. The many players connected by the mounting looked like game bugs stuck together, disappearing over the horizon with horrifying visual impact, especially when the "base" was a speed-oriented class such as the Wind Swordsman, which was truly like a nightmare revisited.
Originally a problematic class in the updates, the Wind Swordsman has quieted down a lot in the dream realm, under the intervention of Guardian Dragon Claudia and one of the four pillars, the Illusory Dream. The unique talents possessed by the dream realm dragons and the abundant knowledge of the Elders were replicated in the real world, one after another. The swordsman began to soar in the real world. Every day in the upper levels of the dream forest, countless Wind Swordsman crashed into trees, dropping like dumplings. The Elf Queen Tiffany was so troubled by this, she even sought consultation from Lyle regarding Andrey’s speed restriction decree, but ultimately canceled it due to difficulty in implementation. The Queen eventually opted for the archers loyal to her, with the entry requirements for the Queen’s Eye Guard becoming shooting down the erratically flying Wind Swordsmen with seed-enchanted arrows, though she would’ve preferred to stab them with iron arrows.
Under Lyle’s negotiation, the Dream Elf tribe began interacting with other Dragon Kin, bustling through the portal erected in the Witherer’s Camp, the divide between white-haired elves and blue-green-haired elves gradually diminishing amid the bustle.
...
Doludo Yuehen cradled his beloved axe.
After the Nightmare BOSS hunt ended, he quickly understood what the [Portable] designation on his Divine Artifact axe meant. When he awoke from his Druid lair, his ears echoed with mad murmurs. This two-meter-tall man looked at the living axe with eyes whirling in its head, his nose tingling and eyes moistening, clutching the axe as if holding a newborn baby.
"She’s speaking... she’s speaking... my darling... I..."
The mad ecstasy frightened passing Dream Elves like a formidable tiger, who immediately reported this lunatic’s condition to the Elders’ Council. Then the Supervisor Druid recognized this Druid Elder colleague, just back from the dream realm, also going mad at the sight of the Divine Artifact axe. Susanna, for a moment, couldn’t tell whether they had indeed overcome the corruption of the Evil God.
Lyle’s repeated assurances finally convinced them to let Doludo go.
[It’s perfectly normal to go a bit crazy from playing games.]
Since it was also her first time being a game administrator with no prior experience, Susanna believed Lyle’s far-fetched stories.
The living axe was a Spirit summoning creation designed by Lyle; overall, it had no issues except for a slightly poor design, its various weapon performances were quite exceptional, powerful enough to compare with those made from Fine Iron Equipment.
Doludo adored his trophy and enthusiastically shared the joy of obtaining the Divine Artifact with his wife Falanel. Initially, some reserved Dream Elf ladies were not pleased with the grotesquely twisted axe, declaring they wouldn’t allow such desecrated creations into their home. Doludo had ample patience for his beloved wife, confident in his ability to persuade the two loves of his life to accept each other.
His sincere persuasion was met with sincere reciprocation.
"Doludo, my beloved. I deeply respect and understand your personal tastes, and for you, I am willing to make some reluctant concessions."
"You can choose to leave this twisted monster in the yard..." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Or you could sleep cuddling with that damn axe in the yard."
The next morning.
After completing his morning exercises, Doludo pushed open the door, his beard bedewed with dew and fragrant with flowers, and his beloved axe had been left on the tree stump outside the door. Falanel walked up to him, twisted his beard, and the Berserker dipped his head in concert with his wife. Their morning greeting touched his cheek, Falanel’s smile as beautiful as the morning light. Doludo had left the axe on the tree stump outside the house last night.
The man noticed something unusual on the windowsill, a new emerald statue had been placed on their own windowsill, with the base of the green dragon statue wedged between entwined vines, its gem-like green light stunningly beautiful in the sunlight. Doludo was surprised; the windowsill was significant to their home, to Falanel, and it wasn’t very large, currently holding only three items.
A moonlight vase entangled with the roots pledging the grass ring, given by Doludo when he proposed.
A Life Grass pendant, representing the decoration of their daughter who left home, thriving robustly.
And the newly added sculpture, Doludo was surprised, it symbolized a new belief for Falanel: the Emerald Green Dragon, Claudia.
Falanel noticed Doludo’s gaze, her palm gently caressing her husband’s cheek, feeling the soft touch of his mane, she lightly smiled, "It’s okay, the royal family and the Elders’ Council are now quite tolerant of various beliefs, and I think having another Guardian God isn’t bad. Besides, Claudia performed quite well in that battle. I think, rather than venerating the moonlight, it’s better to be close to a Guardian Dragon whom we can see and touch."
Doludo showed no reaction, Falanel continued adjusting Doludo’s robe, the strong body forcing several splits in the fragile garment, Falanel contemplated that the new clothing needed to be a size larger.
"I’ll go talk with Tiffany for a while, and when back, you accompany me to the City of Wandering, to check on Fannila and that young man, Heinz has mentioned it several times after the teleportation gate opened, you’re always too busy..."
Doludo Yuehen arched his eyebrows, voicing his own suggestion.
"...I want to go to Mackenbert in Dwarf City, there’s a joint event there recently, I want to get a +10 enhancement voucher for ’Little Roar’."
Doludo’s reply made Falanel roll her eyes, her look full of "which is more important, your daughter’s future or that broken axe?" Doludo bowed his head, knowing his wife could read his eyes, and could influence his actions as well.
Sighing, Falanel finally kissed Doludo reassuringly.
Falanel left, her words still echoing in Doludo’s mind. His eyes were fixed on the beautiful emerald statue on the windowsill, a strange brilliance emerging in his gaze.
"...Very tolerant of various beliefs, as you said, my love."
"I want to turn this thing black."
