Academic gathering with a lich-Chapter 684 - 633: Make a Big Scene
The existence of Elemental Creatures is actually a direct manifestation of resource possession. All Elemental Creatures feed on Elemental Energy; the strong devour the weak, and the more they consume, the stronger they become, with a high energy conversion rate. Because of these characteristics, the struggle among Elemental Creatures is more direct and frequent. They often fight fiercely over energy possession, so the essence of elements is chaos, as they only seek strength and their very nature.
Every Elemental Lord wants to eliminate another, as the energy resources of the Elemental Plane are limited. The number of Elemental Lords depends on the threshold of the plane’s power. Other Elemental Creatures are seen as a feast by each element.
However, this blunt survival of the fittest rarely occurs among the higher-order elements of other elements because they already own most of the resources. They fear loss more than they crave gain. Before every action, they would think and plan, weighing pros and cons. The resources that each element possesses are limited, but they can still cultivate several Elemental Lords. The competition among potential candidates leads to more complex planning and thought. They have to think about eliminating others while preventing anyone from reaping the benefits of their work. A delicate and fragile peace is achieved among the higher-order elements under a balance of multiple powers. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
But the fire elements don’t use their brains. Plots and schemes, the mantis stalking the cicada, I don’t want to think; I just want to kill this idiotic fellow right in front of me. I want to fight; I want to be strong and fierce.
In the early years of chaos, the Land of Blazing Flames remained in perpetual unrest.
Other Elemental Lords had begun to use their brains and think.
The four Flame Barons didn’t think at all and, in tacit agreement, took up their weapons and sought out their neighbors. So now, the four Lords of Flames gathered here had all engaged in life-or-death battles with one another.
Other Elemental Lords formed alliances; the Lords of Flames fought each other.
Other Elemental Lords engaged in covert backstabbing; the Lords of Flames fought each other.
Other Elemental Lords tried to interfere in the Lords of Flames’ battles; the Lords of Flames fought each other and included them in the brawl.
Other Elemental Lords gave up on intervening with these fire lunatics; the Lords of Flames fought each other.
Then, the four Barons realized they couldn’t do anything to each other; they couldn’t lose, but they couldn’t win either. What was left in the Land of Blazing Flames after the baptism of war were all strong elements, and among them, the four equaled each other in power.
Then the fools of the Blazing Flames had a realization; they no longer fought each other with the goal of killing but continued their brawls for the purpose of cultivating their sentiments and pleasuring their hearts and bodies. Once their mindset changed, they began to fight with emotion. While other elements continued their deceitful ways, the four Lords of Flames were already calling each other brothers while occasionally punching each other.
Elemental Creatures of the same type almost always share identical personalities, so the four Flame Lords quickly started hanging out together.
It was then that the Baron of the Garden reached out to other Elemental Lords to jointly descend upon the Great Furnace.
But the Dwarven craftsmen didn’t care about these things; they only knew they had three more armor showcases.
The three newly arrived Lords of Flames were immediately swamped by fervent Dwarves.
The four renewed Lords of the Blazing Flames began their cordial greetings anew.
"If I had not been informed beforehand, I might have thought I was being summoned by a Money Elemental or something else," said Baron Bubble, swaying the Mithril Ribbon hanging from his neck. It was originally a cloak, but now it looked more like a scarf.
"Are these Dwarves crazy? Why keep giving equipment and money? Garden, have you learned a new method of suppression and threat?"
Baron of the Garden made no pleasantries and delivered a Ten Commandments Destruction Fist to Baron Sponge, twisting the Elemental Lord’s upper body into a pretzel shape. His magic equipment shined continuously, seeming to prevent any serious harm.
"Cool!"
"What nonsense are you spouting? Mackenbert’s Dwarven brothers are my good mates; this is their way of thanking me for my hard work!"
The Baron of the Garden’s words did not win the approval of his companions, and the other Lords of Flames looked at him as if he were a fool. They were all Lords of Flames, and knew each other well.
"Let’s not talk about that, is Imelt around?" Ever since the Red Dragon began her training in the Great Furnace, the Baron of the Garden made it a point to share his child-minding experiences with his lordly friends every day. There was no other reason; he was just too bored, as the Dwarves back then weren’t nearly as interesting as they are now. These Elemental Lords, who had grown tired of the Baron’s constant updates about the little dragon, were also curious about her. After all, they were Lords of Flames who had also been thrashed by those idol-worshiping Radiance Elementals.
"Little Mel has gone to rest. Although the upcoming activities are related to her, she’s not needed."
Not long ago, the Lords of Flames had proposed the idea of creating a spiritual leader, mainly due to the collective madness caused by the worship of the Radiance Elementals. Although the Lords of Flames had fended off their attacks, the Blazing Flame Barbarian had acknowledged the strength of those holy light zealots.
"So, is it feasible to start idol activities among the fire elementals?"
"What do you think all this equipment is for?" The Baron of the Garden chuckled, "This is why I called you all here, to act as Imelt’s marketing officers; think of these items as an advance on your salary."
"I’ll share with you what I have learned from the master marketer these past few days! Brothers, it’s time to use our brains!"
After some time of exchanging thoughts, the other Lords of Flames, still somewhat clueless about being marketing officers, had come to appreciate the power of the Red Dragon idol.
"There is also an undead Dwarven army fighting for the Red Dragon, and let’s not mince words here, the Life Marshal Imelt is a threat to us Elemental Lords."
"Now that’s a pleasantly nice surprise."
The four great Lords of Flames shared a conspiratorial smirk that they all understood.
"And with this new set of equipment, we have enough to make a big splash."
That night, the Baron of the Garden made a secret visit to the palace of the Dwarven King Wesselg.
Although it wasn’t very secretive; according to eyewitnesses, the Red Dragon’s marketing officer was bedecked in gold and silver, his entire body ablaze like a proud sun, while all the Dwarves were busy sleeping or squatting in their workshops, choosing to turn a blind eye.
The next day, on the platform directly above the Great Furnace—where the Red Dragon Imelt would hold her idol activities, the four Elemental Lords began their speech to an audience of Dwarves.
The gist of the content was that the Red Dragon’s magic was great and needed to be spread far and wide. The four marketing officers had already selected a world barren of faith to propagate the fiery gospel of the Red Dragon Queen. To this end, they needed to select the most excellent and most devout warriors from among Mackenbert’s Dwarves. Once the Baron of the Garden presented the permit decree issued by the Fire Hammer Royal Family, the Dwarves’ zeal became unstoppable.
The fire elementals had only one requirement.
They had to be able to fight, and fight exceptionally well.
The Red Dragon Missionary Legion was quickly established.
The Baron of the Garden stood on the high platform, looking at the lava whirlpool of the Great Furnace, and announced loudly.
"We have been silent for too long."
"Now, the flames and the Dwarves, we’re coming for you."
