Abyss Summoner-Chapter 31 - 30: Aberrant Beast
"Boom..."
The explosion reverberated through the skies, and the city district, silent for seven days, erupted like a volcano, filling the air with an inexplicable sense of oppression.
A tall silhouette stood by the window, gazing into the distance, a gleam flashing in his eyes: "The battle for the city district has finally begun..."
Seven days.
Chen Feng finally awaited the arrival of the forces. In these days, he had experienced much; after slaughtering numerous monsters and taking over a dozen lives, even his demeanor had subtly changed.
If before, Chen Feng was like a young tiger just out of its den, having been baptised by blood, he now carried the aura of a fierce tiger. His cold, stern eyes stared forward, and just standing there, ordinary people would feel an inconceivable chill.
The forces had arrived, and it wouldn’t be long before this city district was reclaimed. However...this would take some time. Many monsters lurked here, and while the ordinary cannon fodder was negligible, elite monsters like the Hellhound were not few.
Blood.
To restore order in the city, a heavy price must be paid, requiring lives to be sacrificed.
Continue waiting?
Chen Feng shook his head; he was not prepared to wait any longer.
Adding to a prosperous situation is easy; providing timely help is hard. Previously, finding a stronghold was due to the abundance of monsters outside, and fighting blindly would be suicide. But now, with the forces engaged in combat, both sides were at war.
Simply put, Chen Feng was ready to hunt for heads.
Now that a military rank as a protective shield was needed, he should start preparing early. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"Pshchh!"
The Ghost Assassin pierced through the head of a deformed beast, blood and brain matter splattering everywhere. But he had no time to wipe the substance off him, instead turning to look at the nearby monster. His face was heavy, and his hands were still trembling unconsciously. Long hours of fighting had pushed his endurance to its limits, yet he showed no signs of giving up.
Success was imminent!
The bugs and zombies had fallen, and now they faced a group of Dimensional Creatures, carnivorous beasts resembling lions, tigers, and hyenas. Their faces were grotesquely twisted, as if stitched together haphazardly. Their mouths and noses were distorted, teeth protruding, making them unspeakably horrific and bizarre.
Deformed beasts.
The result of crossbreeding between beasts and some unknown monsters, these creatures were naturally cursed, ugly and greedy, with an intense craving for flesh and blood.
In the past few days.
These monsters roamed the city, causing countless humans to meet their tragic ends in their jaws.
Revenge!
The Ghost Assassin clenched his fist; some of his comrades were killed by this group during their battle earlier. They had agreed that if the city was restored, they would contact their distant relatives.
But...
They lay here forever, beside those monsters, with even their comrades’ mutilated limbs still remaining.
Unforgivable!
The deformed beasts were few in number now, and it wouldn’t be long before they were all slaughtered. He wanted to restore the city and avenge his fallen brothers!
The Ghost Assassin stilled his trembling fist, preparing to continue his fight, when suddenly, a sinister will swept through the surroundings, terrifying as though targeted by a predator. Instantly, his hair stood on end. He looked up and was taken aback to discover...
Beside him, a pitch-black figure appeared out of nowhere.
This was an extraordinarily hideous monster, its eyes filled with destruction and violent intent. At such close range, the Ghost Assassin’s heart seemed to freeze, and even his movements felt sluggish.
A remnant shadow.
Its speed was so swift that even the Ghost Assassin couldn’t discern its position or figure.
"Watch out!"
The Qi Gong Master noticed something amiss, his veins bulging, and he roared in warning.
But it was too late.
"Swish!"
A soft tear-like sound echoed, as if slicing through tofu, when the bright, sharp claws pierced through the Ghost Assassin’s abdomen. Due to the abruptness of it all, the Ghost Assassin seemed to not comprehend, as a numbing sensation emerged from his abdomen.
A moment passed.
The Ghost Assassin’s eyes widened in bewilderment, bloodshot and panting. He touched his abdomen with a dazed, despairing look...
This subtle gesture hastened his death.
A massive gash tore across his abdomen; blood gushed wildly from it. But the speed was so fast that he hadn’t even realized, with fragments of bright red viscera and flowing flesh spilling all over. In his final moments, he tried to cover the wound with his hands, only to find he couldn’t even lift them, and collapsed backward, unable to stand.
Dead.
This young man, filled with a desire for revenge and full of justice and hope, died in such a tragic way here!
"This..."
All of Feng Zhiyong’s men, even the combatants confronting the monsters, were taken aback. They paused and involuntarily turned to the sudden monster before them.
Monster.
It could indeed be called a monster.
The monster’s skin was a mix of pale green and pink, its body massive like a giant boar. Compared to its bulky, obese body, even the Inferior Demon’s physique seemed unimpressive.
Behind it was a cumbersome, bat-like fleshy wing stretching from its back, exuding a stench and a sulfuric odor.
The wings granted it astonishing speed, enabling it to ambush despite its bulky physique.
The monster’s most troubling feature was its face. On this horrifying visage was a terrifying mouth filled with sharp teeth, etched with countless lumps and blisters forming numerous ridges and furrows, with lips exuding a cold red luster. A pair of reptilian eyes reflected coldness and cruelty. But these are mere child’s play compared to its most shocking attribute—its sharp, colorful teeth laced with potent venom.
This monster was the leader of the deformed beasts, consuming a plethora of flesh and blood over the past few days, from zombies and bugs to humans and even its kind.
The energy from the flesh had given it a chance to rise to a High-tier rank.
"Crunch..."
The monster lowered its head, biting off the Ghost Assassin’s head. To it, the tough skull posed no obstacle.
"Buzz..."
The head held much of the combatant’s power, consuming fresh suited better for absorption. (Cruel knowledge)
Time seemed frozen at this moment, the only sound being the monster’s chewing of flesh. Suddenly, the monster shuddered, silver light shot into the sky...
It...
Seemed to be evolving!
