Abyss Solo-Chapter 52 - : 036 Lone Soldier Assault!_2
Chapter 52: 036 Lone Soldier Assault!_2
After turning off the microphone, he quietly waited for a while. Among the red dots projected on his goggles, a few began to move towards “Position Twelve.”
Yang Ming tapped his left earpiece, “Boss, they’re suddenly charging our way.”
“Aim at them first!” Kimo bellowed, “Send the nearby team to check them out. If they dare to shoot, I’ll kill them!”
Yang Ming tapped his right earpiece, “The opponent is trying to seize the high ground.”
“Get the landing craft ready,” Guka’s voice suddenly erupted, “Kimo has never trusted us. If he kills us, his men could get twice as much treasure. Conversely, we could do the same. This fortune is enough for all of us to retire.”
...
Yang Ming spoke in a panicked tone, “They’re aiming at me! Damn it! They’re going to kill me!”
Then he immediately switched to a calm voice, “The enemy has formed an attack array; they’re about to fire; I see them unlocking the safety.”
Next, Yang Ming began to switch back and forth, his head constantly turning left and right, to ensure he didn’t confuse his ‘vests.’
“They’re trying to surround us!”
“Position Six has been taken by them.”
“Damn, they’re going after our backs!”
“Are they going to shoot? They’re provoking you, boss!”
“Kolev’s wealth is enough for us to buy half a planet; they’ve lost their minds!”
“All ships, activate protective shields!” Kimo roared.
Yang Ming, “Oh! Their ship’s protective shields are up! Everyone find cover, they’re definitely going to fire! Don’t give them a chance to attack from the air! Load the cannons on the landing craft!”
“Stay calm! Everyone, keep calm!” Guka shouted in a low voice.
“Don’t panic, you brats,” Kimo spoke in a deep voice, “I’m the leader; I must give them a chance, but if they dare to fire the first shot…”
In the empty mid-levels of the skyscraper.
Yang Ming unlocked his laser gun’s safety, checked the power gauge, and pushed open a sliver of the glass window beside him.
Turning around, with his gun ready and stance set, Yang Ming hid behind the curtain, the pupils behind his goggles reflecting the images of two pirates crouched on the sloping roof below.
Swoosh, swoosh!

Without hesitation, Yang Ming pulled the trigger. The muzzle of the laser gun moved almost in one second, and the two pirates hit the ground with two screams, clutching their thighs.
Yang Ming turned and ran, ending the three-way communication with two emotionally charged shouts, both back and forth.
“Damn it! They’ve fired!”
“Kill them all!”
Yang Ming calmly removed his right earpiece.
At this moment, both sides’ channels were boiling with activity.
“Ah! My leg! My leg’s been shot through!”
“Redirect the airship! Guka, that bastard, he fired first! He’s challenging me! I’ll kill him!”
“Counterattack! Counterattack!”
“The despicable Guka wants to keep the treasure all to himself! It belongs to all of us!”
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
Suddenly, over ten laser gun beams appeared in the corner of the city. An airship activated its machine guns, and a series of thick laser bullets left dazzling trails across the sky.
Yang Ming had just jumped through a window to the adjacent building when several missiles whizzed overhead, all of which were destroyed by laser fire, exploding into bursts of fireworks.
Many landing crafts pressed down their altitude nearby, hiding their frames against the buildings, while several attempting to ascend for a height advantage had become targets.
In the thin atmosphere, five pirate ships activated their protective shields at the same time and began exchanging cannon fire.
The pirate’s civil war had erupted in full force!
Yang Ming said calmly, “Now, First Mate Kolev, you can give me Kimo’s location.”
Kolev…
What had he just witnessed?
Had all his former subordinates been idiots?
Kolev’s voice had a somber tone, “They wanted my treasure so badly?”
“No, Kolev, that’s just a secondary reason.”
Yang Ming hid in a corner behind a concrete wall, eyes focused on Kimo’s red dot displayed on the map in his goggles.
Yang Ming smirked, “The main reason is, you’re dead.”
“I’m dead?”
“Do you think anyone would bother to buy your life from prison? And why were you caught in an ordinary trade?”
Yang Ming spoke softly,
“Mimili was exiled as part of a calculated plot. Her personal charm is actually quite impressive, and she had so many loyal old-timers.
“They didn’t kill Mimili because they feared you were still alive, worried that the prison couldn’t hold you. Then they decided to use the prison to kill you; that makes sense. If you were to die in prison, Mimili’s ship would definitely be attacked.
“You were like a stone weighing down on the already fractious Black Dragon Group. Kimo, Guka, and the others who overlooked Mimili’s exile all needed to band together to withstand the pressure from you.
“Now, in their eyes, you’re dead, and there’s your treasure left behind.
“You understand all this, Kolev, but you chose from the start not to believe it.”
Kolev sounded dispirited, “Indeed, they never listen to each other… actually, all I needed to do was fake my death, and they’d inevitably start fighting amongst themselves.”
“Alright, Kolev,” Yang Ming said, “that’s how pirate groups are; they are scoundrels, not knights. Let them unleash themselves here. I’ll deal with Kimo. Lina and the others should arrive soon; make sure number two stays well-hidden.”
“He’s entered a building near you,” Kolev said, “be careful, he’s very strong. The drone footage I saw earlier showed him starting to don an exoskeleton mecha, which can take on small craft.”
Yang Ming let out a ‘hm’ and shot out from the corner, vaulted over the windowsill, and landed steadily on a hoverboard, heading towards the remnants of a building a hundred meters away.
Kimo’s assault vehicle was parked outside the building, with Kimo himself now in the lobby on the first floor.
Yang Ming repeatedly lifted his laser gun, the beams precisely hitting pirates who seemed to appear out of nowhere, leaving behind several charred holes where their brains used to be.
Kimo and his men noticed the anomaly beside the building.
“Boss! Squad six has been attacked! There’s been no response.”
“There’s a high-speed target approaching us, it’s a biological target! Definitely a personal flight device!”
“Did Guka hire mercenaries?” Kimo bellowed, panting, “Quickly help me start up the mecha, I’m going to kill all these bastards!”
“It’s already started! Boss… uh… uh…”
Whoosh!
The speaking pirate was suddenly cut off mid-sentence.
The middle-aged man with tattoos on his face tried to look down at his throat, but his neck, pierced by the beam, failed to complete the motion. All he saw was a hole in the wall ahead and the wisp of smoke rising from it.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Several figures fell simultaneously, and an energy shield passively triggered behind Kimo displayed faint ripples.
Wrapped in an ‘exoskeleton’, Kimo whirled around just in time to see several rapidly enlarging black dots.
Shock grenades!
Almost instinctively, Kimo raised his hands to shield his head, squatting as much as possible. His chest, back, and both sides of his arms lit up with ovoid light shields in a dull yellow hue.
