Abyss Sequence-Chapter 453 - 28: Master of the Bright Silver Abyss
Yan Luo traversed the locations where Hunters had recently sighted the Master of the Abyss, marking each verified spot along the way.
Some locations were misinformation and could not be taken into consideration.
It’s unclear what motivated those Hunters to provide false information, whether it was intentional or due to mistaking other Demons for the Master of the Abyss, but their misinformation did indeed cause some trouble for Yan Luo.
However, it only meant covering more ground.
Along the way, Yan Luo encountered some Demons, including one at the Catastrophe Level.
For Yan Luo, who had reached the limits of the Catastrophe Level, fighting a Catastrophe Level Demon didn’t consume much energy.
Standing at the final target location, Yan Luo looked at the map’s various marked points and outlined the territory of the Master of the Abyss.
As a beetle-type Demon, the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss’s territory wasn’t large because they don’t typically overact; they won’t easily change their nest location.
For the Master of the Abyss, no Demon in the Abyss could force them to relocate their nest.
Based on recent activity, it seems the Master of the Abyss had no intention of changing its nest location.
Currently, the food supply within the territory of the Master of the Abyss was still sufficient, and there was no need to migrate elsewhere.
Yan Luo narrowed the search area for the Master of the Abyss from the entire Bright Silver Abyss to a fifty-kilometer radius zone. Compared to aimlessly searching, with a clear target, he could bring out that monster in a very short time.
This was Yan Luo’s confidence as a top-notch Hunter.
Even though he’s not yet twenty, based on the information from the last Abyss raid, he had memorized ninety-eight percent of the relevant knowledge of the Bright Silver Abyss, enough to track down the Master of the Abyss.
"The most recent sighting of the Master of the Abyss was twenty-three days ago. According to its feeding patterns, it might have hunted fifteen days ago and seven days ago respectively. Unless unexpected, it should reappear today or tomorrow." Yan Luo muttered to himself, looking at the marks on the map.
Indeed, even the fifteen-day waiting period was calculated by Yan Luo.
He had long grasped the feeding patterns of the Master of the Abyss; how could he not consider it during the Abyss raid?
The Master of the Bright Silver Abyss’s single feeding can sustain it for eight days, as it preys on City-breaking Level Demons. As a beetle-type Demon, after feeding, the Master tends to remain quiet, minimizing its consumption.
Only after exhausting all nutrients will the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss hunt again.
The Master of the Bright Silver Abyss measures fifty meters long, thirty-eight meters wide, and stands nearly fifteen meters tall, unquestionably a colossal entity.
In its resting state, the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss buries itself in sand, capable of easily doing so because it possesses a superpower to control sand.
Once buried, no matter what happens on the surface, unless it affects them, the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss will not emerge, classifying it as one of the more peaceful Masters of the Abyss.
But even the most peaceful Master of the Abyss is still a Master of the Abyss.
If humans appear in front of the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss while it is hunting, there is a high chance it will abandon the City-breaking Level prey and attack the humans instead.
Yan Luo began searching for the Master of the Abyss within an almost eight-thousand-square-kilometer area. As a massive Demon, it’s impossible for the Master of the Abyss to completely hide itself.
During his search, Yan Luo was attacked by a City-breaking Level Demon.
This time, Yan Luo didn’t kill the Demon but instead lured it, allowing it to chase after him.
This was to lure out the Master of the Abyss.
The last feeding of the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss might have been seven days ago, following its usual feeding pattern, it could be ready for its next hunt.
Therefore, by running around with a City-breaking Level Demon, he might lure out the Master of the Abyss.
Soon, Yan Luo encountered a second City-breaking Level Demon, adding another chaser behind him.
Perhaps because the sight of Yan Luo running with two Demons was too conspicuous, half an hour after encountering the second Demon, a flying Demon joined the chase.
While running, Yan Luo suddenly bent down, letting the flying Demon’s claws graze past, then flipped and jumped, punching the flying Demon, hitting one of its wings in mid-air, causing it to plummet to the ground.
Seeing this, Yan Luo smiled and continued to run wildly with the two City-breaking Level Demons.
The hawk-like flying Demon wasn’t injured; it quickly stood up, shook its head to clear its foggy mind, and then launched itself back into the air in a rage, chasing after Yan Luo’s shadow.
The number of City-breaking Level Demons chasing Yan Luo grew to three, which should be a huge temptation for the Master of the Abyss.
According to the Bright Silver Abyss Hunter records, the Master of the Abyss recently ate three or four City-breaking Level Demons each feeding.
If there was only one City-breaking Level Demon chasing Yan Luo, the Master of the Bright Silver Abyss might not take notice, but now, with three chasing Yan Luo, it should be enough to stir the Master of the Abyss’s appetite.
If three City-breaking Level Demons can’t arouse the Master of the Abyss’s appetite...
Yan Luo thought for a moment and used his Magnetic Field power to tear open a wound on his arm, letting his blood drip into the air. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
The quantity wasn’t much, about one drop per second.
But it was the Saint’s Blood, enough to drive the Demons chasing Yan Luo mad.
Once Yan Luo began bleeding, even the Demons kilometers away noticed. Some low-level Demons that were previously shivering in fear also went berserk, bursting from the ground to chase Yan Luo.
The surface peace of the desert was broken, and it’s hard for ordinary people to realize many Demons actually hide beneath the sand. The ones encountered typically are those not suited to live beneath or come to the surface due to hunger.
Truthfully, more Demons lay hidden beneath the sand.
In Yan Luo’s wake, the sand would crack open, and Demons would climb out, crawling or flying to pursue Yan Luo, all for the sake of the Saint’s Blood.
At some point, a massive wave of Demons had gathered behind Yan Luo, their vast scale like a tide washing over the silver sands.
In fact, it wasn’t just behind him; Demons came rushing in from all directions towards Yan Luo, but by the time they gathered, Yan Luo had already broken through, leaving all the Demons behind.
No matter how fast or supersonic the Demons were, not a single one could match Yan Luo’s pace.
Many Demons could only settle for second best, fighting over the blood that slipped from Yan Luo’s arm.
Thousands of Demons sprinted across the sand sea, and numerous flying Demons soared in the sky, making it impossible for the Master of the Abyss not to be roused.
It sensed the disturbance within the sand sea, it noticed the grand tides of Demons, it detected the sweet scent pervading the air...
BOOM!!!
The horde of Demons chasing Yan Luo suddenly surged and violently exploded.
Countless sand and dust danced wildly, sweeping some of the lighter-weight Demons into a storm that engulfed the heavens and earth.
The previously clear night sky quickly gave way to a haze and dimness, as if wailing winds filled the world.
A gigantic shadow emerged on slender yet resilient legs from beneath the ground. Even with the sandstorm obscuring its figure, the sheer outline could suffocate anyone.
Yan Luo stopped and turned to look, and so did the gigantic shadow that stood beyond the sandstorm.
Good news, the target was found—
The Master of the Bright Silver Abyss, the giant insect of the raging sands, stood upon the earth!
Bad news, the Master of the Abyss seems to have reached Doomsday Level—
The beetle was larger than recorded, measured by optical instruments, it was now eighty meters long, sixty meters wide, with a staggering height of twenty-six meters!
Amidst the raging sandstorm, even Yan Luo couldn’t help but sharply inhale.
Logically, the best course now would be to return to Blue Star and inform Yulia of the Bright Silver Abyss Master’s ascension to Doomsday Level, letting her handle the monster.
But having tasted the Saint’s Blood, would it let him leave?
