Abnormal Gourmet Chronicle-Chapter 707 - 360: Dang Kang’s Gift
Qin Huai invited everyone to the amusement park, which was a park opened a couple of years ago in Shan City.
It wasn’t a themed park like Universal City or Disney, just a regular one with roller coasters, Ferris wheels, haunted houses, and other traditional attractions. There were no merchandise shops, only food and water inside the park were pricier than outside. It had no standout features or obvious flaws, just an ordinary amusement park.
If you had to say it had a special feature, it would be the four roller coasters and two drop towers, focusing on thrilling excitement, definitely not child-friendly. University students could get half-price tickets with their student IDs, making it very popular among the university crowd.
Qin Huai initially planned to drive Luo Jun’s car to take everyone together, with Ouyang joining in to make it five people—just enough for one car.
Then the plan couldn’t keep up with changes, so everyone ended up going separately, meeting at the entrance of the amusement park at 11 a.m.
Eventually, even Qin Huai and Qin Luo didn’t set off together. Ouyang drove one car with Qin Luo, while Qin Huai drove another.
The exact problem was...
While waiting at a red light, Qin Huai glanced at Chen Huihong in the passenger seat, then looked back at Qu Jing, Shi Dadan, and Luo Jun in the back seat. When Qin Huai looked at him, Shi Dadan laughed cheerfully at Qin Huai.
After laughing, Shi Dadan shifted uncomfortably, probably squeezing Luo Jun a bit. Luo Jun gave him a disdainful look, didn’t roll his eyes, huffed, and turned his head to continue looking out the window.
Qin Huai really wanted to throw the question marks in his head at these four people but didn’t dare, so he was left speechless.
When the red light changed to green, and they had driven a bit following the navigation, Qin Huai couldn’t help saying:
"I understand everything, Old Shi. You saw us chatting in the group and found that my Double Crab Bun progress hasn’t been good recently, and you’re concerned about me. Coincidentally, you caught some good stuff when you went fishing the other day, so you flew all the way here to bring me some seafood, just in time for today’s amusement park trip. I can understand that."
"Sister Hong, you... anyway, if you don’t want to work and want to go to the amusement park, I can understand that too."
"Qu Jing, you rarely have a day off and took a vacation to join us for the amusement park trip. I can kind of understand that too."
"But you, Mr. Luo! Whether it’s your real age or physical age, you’re at least over 90, aren’t you? You never go out, and the rare times you do, you visit the Yunzhong Restaurant, where Zhang Shumei has to push a wheelchair for you just in case. Qu Jing even asked you to go to the rehab department for some therapy, but you refuse. How come you’re going to the amusement park?"
"You probably can’t even get on the carousel, which is the easiest ride in the park, right?"
Why did Qin Huai have to say this while driving? Because if Luo Jun had any consideration for everyone’s safety, he wouldn’t lash out or curse at Qin Huai while he’s driving.
Qin Huai was taking a gamble.
He gambled correctly! 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Sure enough, Luo Jun didn’t lash out or curse. He just looked out the window more disdainfully, edged away from Shi Dadan, not wanting to sit close, and scoffed, "This is my car. I can go wherever I want."
Qin Huai: ...
"I’m dying. Is there anything wrong with wanting to visit an amusement park before I go? I’ve never been to one."
Qin Huai thought Luo Jun was somewhat resigned to his fate.
Last time when Qu Jing hosted a tea party at Luo Jun’s house, they found out Luo Jun’s health wasn’t great and might not have much time left. Luo Jun got so upset he chased them out. And when Qu Jing and Chen Huihong started contacting funeral homes, asking what kind of tombstone Luo Jun wanted or if he wanted a custom one, Luo Jun realized he couldn’t hide it anymore, so he stopped trying.
He even said that before dying, he just wanted to visit an amusement park.
"The wheelchair is in the trunk. It’s Qu Jing who’s pushing it, not you. Why worry?" Luo Jun rolled his eyes, "Didn’t you tell Qu Jing that you wanted to provide quality end-of-life care? Is this how you do it?"
Qin Huai: Taking a 90-year-old Old Bi Fang to a thrilling amusement park known for its drop towers and roller coasters, is that right?
Qin Huai could only stay silent and drive.
Although Shi Dadan had been in the group for a while, this was the first time he had interacted with so many spirits, and he wasn’t fully aware of Luo Jun’s temperament.
Seeing Qin Huai silent, Shi Dadan thought Qin Huai was upset, so he cheerfully tried to smooth things over: "Oh, this was actually my idea to bring everyone, don’t blame them. Mainly blame me."
"I happened to be here, and since Xiao Qin wanted to relax at the amusement park, and I also really enjoy amusement parks. Last night, I secretly asked everyone privately if they wanted to go, and seeing they were interested, I brought it up in the group. Blame me, blame me."
Luo Jun glanced slightly at Shi Dadan: "You really play the good guy, Dang Kang."
Shi Dadan scratched his head: "That’s not what I meant. What I meant was..."
Sensing Shi Dadan was about to explain himself into a corner, Qu Jing quickly intervened to gently reassure him, "Mr. Shi, don’t misunderstand. Mr. Luo isn’t angry, and Master Qin isn’t angry either. Mr. Luo usually talks like this, and today his mood is quite good. It was just sarcastic without any personal attacks, pure insults, or unprovoked abuse."
