Abnormal Gourmet Chronicle-Chapter 25 - 24 [Chen Huixi’s Wish] (Thanks to the alliance leader of "A City Where Flowers Never Fade" for the reward!)
Chapter 25 - 24 [Chen Huixi's Wish] (Thanks to the alliance leader of "A City Where Flowers Never Fade" for the reward!)
Huang Xi's plan was written very concisely and clearly.
She classified the meal tickets into four categories: Breakfast Combo, Steamed Basket Combo, Snack Combo, and Meat-and-Vegetable Combo.
There are two types of Breakfast Combos: the 5-yuan one includes 1 bun, 1 tea egg, 1 soy milk; the 6-yuan one includes an extra bun. (Flavors are random)
The Steamed Basket Combo also has two types: 30 yuan for any one basket, or 55 yuan for any two baskets.
There are three types of Snack Combos: 150g snack ticket, 250g snack ticket, 500g snack ticket, and snacks can be mixed.
The Meat-and-Vegetable Combo is for lunch and dinner, with options of: one meat and one vegetable, two meat and one vegetable, one meat and two vegetables, and three meat and two vegetables.
The above 4 combos can be paired daily, with options of 1 Breakfast Combo/1 Steamed Basket Combo+1 Meat-and-Vegetable Combo+1 Snack Combo or 1 Breakfast Combo/1 Steamed Basket Combo+2 Meat-and-Vegetable Combos.
Purchasing 15 days of combos gifts 5 tickets of 150g Snack Combos.
Purchasing 30 days of combos gifts 15 tickets of 150g Snack Combos+3 Steamed Basket Combo tickets.
Purchasing 90 days of combos gifts 45 tickets of 150g Snack Combos+15 Steamed Basket Combo tickets.
Purchasing 180 days of combos gifts 100 tickets of 150g Snack Combos+40 Steamed Basket Combo tickets.

Purchasing 365 days of combos gifts 230 tickets of 150g Snack Combos+100 Steamed Basket Combo tickets.
There is only one sales approach: buy more, get more, and buying combos is cheaper than ordering individually.
Along with the combo, there's a consecutive dining event, where if a customer checks in continuously for 7/15/30/45/90/180/365 days, the canteen will gift Snack Combo tickets and Steamed Basket Combo tickets.
Aside from the combo plans, Huang Xi also provided a membership points collection plan.
The combos can be paper tickets or electronic tickets, totally up to the customer. Each customer purchasing a combo automatically becomes a member, and points can be earned with consumption, which can be redeemed for snacks.
The membership also features a collection book function, where every snack purchased unlocks an entry. Each snack has a leaderboard, and the member purchasing the most of a single snack in a month receives an honorary title and a random gift.
Since Qin Huai couldn't hold and read the plan directly in the kitchen, Qin Luo stood outside reading it out loud while looking at it.
"This collection book function is great, you can unlock entries, there's a leaderboard, and you can even get a random gift each month!" Qin Luo praised the plan endlessly, "This is so much fun! If our school's canteen had this feature, I'd definitely be the Tomat
o and Egg Star every month!"
"What Tomato and Egg Star?" Chen Huihong, holding Chen Huixi, approached upon hearing this. She ordered the same menu as yesterday and noticed there were about a dozen Crab Shell Cakes left on the tray. She wanted to buy them all to take to the office as a welfare gift for the neighborhood committee.
Today, Chen Huixi had a single ponytail, a bunny hairpin, and wore a khaki dress with color-blocked leather shoes. The whole color scheme looked like a delicious chestnut cake.
"Brother Qin Huai, mom said you made salad yesterday, but it wasn't very good. This is the salad dressing she bought last month preparing for the culinary competition, and this is the caviar, and this is the mayonnaise, all new and unopened." Chen Huixi placed the items on the counter one by one and made an encouraging gesture.
"Brother Qin Huai, keep it up! We have more bottles at home, practice well, and you'll surely make a delicious salad!" Obviously, Chen Huixi inherited Chen Huihong's enthusiastic nature.
Qin Luo was puzzled: "What salad? Did my brother make salad yesterday?"
Qin Huai: ...
This child's enthusiasm disregarded everything else.
"Just threw something together, not important." Qin Huai stuffed a Five Fillings Bun into Qin Luo's mouth to shut her up and stopped Chen Huihong, who was about to count how many Crab Shell Cakes there were and wrap them all up.
"Sister Hong, this batch of Crab Shell Cakes has already been out of the oven for a while. If you're not in a hurry, come later to eat them fresh out of the oven, still hot and delicious."
Chen Huihong hesitated slightly but chose to take the whole batch anyway.
This batch was for the neighborhood committee staff, and then she'd buy another fresh batch out of the oven for herself.
"Sister Hong, you have pretty good benefits at your neighborhood committee, you have snacks to eat," Qin Huai teased with a smile.
Chen Huihong didn't shy away, saying directly, "Usually, we just buy some fruits or biscuits. Now that your canteen is open, of course, we'll support your business. If you have any difficulties, just say so, and both the logistics and property companies or the supermarket fruits can be swapped for snacks."
Qin Huai almost felt like kneeling in gratitude and shouting: Sister Hong, I really don't want to work hard anymore!
However, Qin Huai didn't do that; he just maintained his usual smile, with a hint of sincerity in his voice, "Sister Hong, is there any snack you or Huixi want to eat?"
"Today's Crab Shell Cakes were specially requested by Ouyang; what do you two want to eat tomorrow? I'll make it for you."
Chen Huihong began to ponder seriously. Despite having tasted many good things, the famous snack shops in Shan City were actually not many, and Qin Huai's skills were quite high in her mind.
It was already excellent to buy a few to eat during the commute each day, but if she could specify what to eat...
Chen Huihong felt she had to choose carefully.
"Buns." Chen Huixi said crisply, "Brother Qin Huai, I want to eat the grey-colored buns!"
"Grey-colored buns? Buckwheat Buns?" Qin Huai asked, not expecting it to be true that what Ouyang said was right, that Chen Huixi's favorite snack was indeed buns.
Chen Huihong nodded quickly, helping to explain for her daughter, "Yes, Buckwheat Buns. My mother can make them, and Huixi just loves eating them. Every year, when we go home for the New Year, she wants to eat them every day. My brother and I don't like them; they have a rough texture."
"Sister Hong, does your mother make any special Buckwheat Buns?" Qin Huai asked carefully.
Chen Huihong started to recall, "My mother always gets the freshly ground buckwheat flour from the village every year, but I think the quality of that flour is not very good, a bit rough."
"As for making buns, it's just the usual skills of a rural woman. When I was a child, conditions were not very good, and we could only eat buns at New Year, and not even pure white flour ones. My mom doesn't make them often, and her skills are just average."
"But my mother adds sugar, brown sugar, because she likes sweet stuff. When eating buns, she dips them in white sugar."
"If there's a good point, maybe they're chewy? A bit hard, quite a workout for the jaw muscles."
Qin Huai: ...
That doesn't sound like a compliment either.
Does Huixi have a preference that's a bit too simple and plain? Has she eaten so many delicacies at home that she finds the coarse food in the countryside delightful when going back for New Year?
All Qin Huai could do was nod and indicate he'd work hard to recreate it.
Seeing Chen Huixi asked for buns, Chen Huihong simply went along with her daughter's wish, saying buns would be fine.
Chen Huixi still had to go to school, and having chatted for a while, they worried about the morning rush hour traffic, so the mother and daughter didn't sit down to eat in the shop. They just packed everything to go and left.
Before leaving, Chen Huixi waved her hand three times in a very polite, standard gesture to Qin Huai, then hopped and skipped away.
The next second, a game notification sounded in Qin Huai's mind.
"Congratulations, you have discovered a new side quest. Please check in the task panel."
Qin Huai glanced at the steamer and called out, "Luoluo, come help me watch the buns, and in the meantime, press two batches of red bean paste buns with molds."
"Coming, coming." Qin Luo ran over, "Brother, do you need to go to the restroom?"
"I triggered a new task; I'll go check it out."
Qin Luo rolled her eyes at Qin Huai, "One batch of rabbit buns and one of lion buns?"
"Lion buns weren't selling well yesterday; they didn't sell out until last night. No lion buns, make little elephants."
After saying that, Qin Huai went to the shelf, pretended to look for something, and with a click in the air, began to review the task.
Qin Luo pursed her lips and started kneading the dough.
Qin Congwen and Zhao Rong exchanged a glance and shook their heads helplessly, "These two kids..."
The newly triggered side quest for Qin Huai was:
1. [Chen Huixi's Wish]: As a devoted believer in the Flying Bun Sect, Chen Huixi's favorite snack isn't a two-tone Water Chestnut Cake or the recently trendy Five Fillings Bun in Yunzhong District, but the plain and unpretentious bun. Unfortunately, no matter what kind of bun she eats, Chen Huixi always feels there's something lacking. Even the ones her grandmother makes herself for the New Year, though not very tasty, hard to chew, and if eaten too much, become hard to swallow so she nibbles them slowly in her hand, the chewy buckwheat buns are not exactly her top favorite, though she can't say what kind of bun she really wants. Players, please create the dream bun for Chen Huixi, so she can finally eat the bun she truly desires.
Task Reward: A piece of Chen Huihong's dream, [Chen Huixi's Approval] (Choose: Yes/No)
Looking at this incredibly long task description, Qin Huai felt like scratching his head.
Chen Huixi's wish is more challenging to comprehend than a mom asking a kid what they want for dinner and the kid saying "anything."
What is this taste, child?
She knows the buns her grandmother makes aren't good but loves eating them anyway.
But when asked what she truly wants to eat, the answer is "I don't know."
No wonder they say it's hard to be a pediatrician; even if you have the correct answers, it won't help with this level of diagnostics.
So...
Is Huixi wishing for delicious buns? Or not-so-delicious buns?
Or perhaps buns that taste delicious with just a hint of not-so-deliciousness, and vice versa?
