Abnormal Gourmet Chronicle-Chapter 1115 - 539: Zhou Hu’s Desire
"Really? That's good. Planner Zhou, what's your favorite snack at our Yunzhong Restaurant?"
"I've tried a few, but the locust flower buns are the best, though they're a bit expensive. It's a little painful buying one for 20."
"Normally, buns wouldn't be sold for 20. Mainly because locust flower buns are Level S, anything below 20 wouldn't be worthy of that level."
"What's Level S?"
"Not important, you'll find out later."
"Hey, Planner Zhou, how many years was your dad sentenced for?"
"Life."
"Oh, so he can't come out. When you visit him, do you want to bring him some snacks? I can make some extra for you."
"You can't bring food during prison visits; it's quite troublesome."
"Really? That's such a pity. Do you plan to buy snacks in bulk from Yunzhong Restaurant? I can give you a 95% discount."
"Yes, but Master Qin, your restaurant's snacks are a bit too expensive. I haven't finished planning Mr. Luo's funeral yet. The layout for the memorial hall isn't set, and we haven't found a troupe that suits Mr. Luo's taste. I've only received a 5% deposit, so funds are tight."
"Just 5%? I'll talk to Mr. Luo some other day and have him pay you at least 25%. I'll send you the Yunzhong Restaurant snack price list later, and you can place your order in advance."
Qin Huai was on the verge of losing his mind, chatting about whatever came to his dreams. He thought it was time to end this conversation, as continuing would make his mind so muddy he might start hearing water sloshing around.
Qin Huai took another bite of the Mianmian ice and said, "Planner Zhou, we've talked enough. It's rare to visit an amusement park. Have you been on the roller coaster here? It's really thrilling; do you want to try it?"
Zhou Hu's intelligence hadn't returned, and he instinctively said, "Master Qin, let's finish the Mianmian ice first. Each portion costs 58, so let's not waste it."
Master Zhou was still a master at saving food.
Qin Huai had no objections; he was just concerned for Zhou Hu's stomach—he had almost finished his portion of Mianmian ice, while Zhou Hu had only taken two bites.
Qin Huai waited for Zhou Hu to finish the Mianmian ice and chatted with him a bit more. Their conversation gradually returned to normal. Zhou Hu started questioning things like, who am I? Where am I? What was I just doing? Was that me? Could immortal cultivators really exist in this world and did I just get possessed?
When Zhou Hu was led by Qin Huai to the queue line for the amusement park's most thrilling roller coaster, which also happened to be Qin Luo's favorite, he was utterly bewildered.
Before the queue line was a row of resting benches. Ouyang, looking blank, seemed to be soul-searching, sitting on a bench with snacks, and upon seeing Qin Huai, acted like he was seeing a savior.
"Qin Huai, finally you're here! Where did you go just now? I called you but you didn't pick up, and messaged Old Shi who said you went to have dessert. Is now the time for dessert? Why are you eating dessert first thing in the morning?" Ouyang said rapidly, "When Youyou comes down, try to persuade her. I can't convince her; she and Luoluo have already ridden the roller coaster four times!"
"It's their fifth time now!"
"Is it really her first time at an amusement park?"
Qin Huai was taken aback; he didn't expect An Youyou to enjoy roller coasters so much. Having Qin Luo lead An Youyou around the amusement park was a perfect match; they were made for each other.
Qin Huai finally fixed his gaze on the snack bag in Ouyang's hands and said, "Luoluo is with An Youyou. If you're not riding the roller coasters, you can try other attractions, or find Old Shi and the others. You don't have to stay here guarding Luoluo's stuff."
"Luoluo isn't a seven or eight-year-old kid; it's a rare visit to the amusement park and you're not playing?"
Qin Huai was surprised by Ouyang's knack for babysitting.
"I wasn't guarding Luoluo's things; I just came off the roller coaster and needed a breather." Ouyang said, "I went with them all four times."
Qin Huai: ?
Did Xiao Ou Handmade Lemon Tea Store go bankrupt so quickly, and Ouyang couldn't cope with the shock, so he came to the amusement park looking for death?
"Are you... alright?" Qin Huai asked cautiously.
"I don't understand." Ouyang murmured, "Is it really my problem? How can everyone ride the roller coaster four times while I can't?"
"Has the recent workout had no effect at all?"
Zhou Hu: ?
Now Zhou Hu no longer felt like he had a problem with his brain—he felt like the amusement park's magnetic field had a problem; everyone entering seemed a bit mentally off.
Dammit, he's the one who despises superstitions most, so why is he starting to think about such things? This amusement park's magnetic field really has issues!
Zhou Hu, in a daze, followed Qin Huai onto the roller coaster, only to regret it once it started.
Because sitting on the roller coaster made Zhou Hu realize; during childhood, his family's persistent poverty prevented a trip to the amusement park. In college, the academic pressure coupled with not having a girlfriend meant he never thought of visiting. Later, his dad was imprisoned, and Zhou Hu worked hard for a living, leaving no time for amusement parks.
As a funeral planner, he would never bring a client to an amusement park for business.
Zhou Hu had never visited an amusement park or ridden a roller coaster.
On the roller coaster, the renowned planner and conscientious master, Zhou Hu let out his most plaintive scream of his life.
"Oh crap, save me ahhhhhh!"
.
After one roller coaster ride, Zhou Hu vomited profusely, spewing out the Mianmian ice that had turned into thick syrup mixed with still undigested morning buns and stomach acid, desperately clutching a trash bin to puke.
