Abandoned Woman Busy Farming-Chapter 2454 - 2455: The Road of Life and Death
"What kind of escape technique is this powerful?" Yizi glanced around, feeling puzzled. Should they hide behind one of the trees now?
Jianqi’s face changed slightly as he considered some possibilities. Images of his master sometimes disappearing silently, as if vanishing within the room, flashed in his mind, but as a subordinate, he knew not to ask further questions.
He also remembered his master once giving a ball of light to Tang Feng, saying it was his and instructing him to keep it safe.
"Stop talking, don’t reveal our whereabouts." Jianqi urgently stopped Yizi, who seemed clueless, as Tang Feng had no choice but to use this move; he certainly didn’t want them asking more questions.
Yizi immediately shut her mouth obediently, not daring to move a muscle, fearing she’d once again burden everyone like last time.
After a while, Tang Feng sighed with relief and said in a low voice, "They’ve left, but to be safe, let’s wait a little longer."
Jianqi nodded in agreement, and Yizi had no objections.
Soon enough, the masked ninja who had left earlier reappeared, and Tang Feng’s face darkened. These ninjas were truly relentless.
"They’ve indeed returned, likely to intercept us again. Later, let’s send a signal to Bai Ruozhu." Tang Feng suggested.
Jianqi seemed worried, asking, "Would that put the master in danger?"
"They probably want to capture us to threaten Bai Ruozhu and Xiaojiang, so this is not the time for us to act tough. We have to return to Yuan Licheng’s array, and then our chances of winning will be greater." Tang Feng analyzed.
"You’re right," Jianqi nodded, realizing he’d been overthinking.
The three stood there, even Tang Feng began to feel his feet aching from standing, so he sat down on the ground. Jianqi and Yizi followed suit and sat down as well.
After waiting for nearly half an hour, Tang Feng finally said, "Let’s go out now, Jianqi, you send the signal directly. We’ll stay cautious of any ambush nearby, and Yizi will be responsible for defense. We’ll circle back to the main road, and Xiaojiang should meet us there."
"Okay," Yizi and Jianqi answered together.
In the next moment, the three appeared in the place where they were initially surrounded. Due to the surroundings changing, Yizi felt dizzy and nearly lost her balance.
Jianqi grabbed Yizi, and Yizi quickly recovered, not daring to relax for a second. She swiftly set up the defense array.
Jianqi sent out the signal, and the three retraced their steps, returning to the main road.
Since more than an hour had passed, the street had returned to its normal state—people doing business, shoppers strolling around. Everyone had put the earlier danger behind them, realizing life must go on, and couldn’t stop going out due to some ninjas.
The three walked quickly, cautiously keeping an eye on the surroundings, checking for any nearby ambushes. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Suddenly, a melodious flute sound came from nearby, and due to their heightened tension, all three involuntarily shivered at the abrupt noise.
Seeing that it was a disabled flutist, the three sidestepped to the other side of the road, continuing onward, not in the mood to appreciate the flute’s supposed beauty.
As they were about to pass, the flutist suddenly aimed the flute head at them, sending small needles flying their way.
Fortunately, Yizi had set up a defense array, but with this attack, the formation stone in her hand shattered!
"Run!" Jianqi grabbed Yizi, alerting Tang Feng, and the three swiftly darted forward.
Yizi didn’t dare delay for a second, immediately discarding the shattered formation stone and taking out another. The next moment, the needles attacked again, and Yizi tightly clenched her jaw, blood flowing from her fingers gripping the formation stone.
A nearby merchant suddenly flung a shuriken, leaping to slash at the nearest person, Tang Feng.
"Watch out!" Tang Feng shouted, drawing his sword and engaging the ninja disguised as the merchant.
Several more ninjas disguised as pedestrians began to attack, and Jianqi hurriedly pulled Yizi away, drawing his sword to fight them.
Tang Feng cursed inwardly, realizing the predicament; he had a way of teleporting people into space without contact, but he’d already used it today and couldn’t use it again for three days.
His space differed from Bai Ruozhu’s; while he could bring many people at once, Bai Ruozhu could only bring one at a time aside from her child. There were pros and cons; Bai Ruozhu’s space needed no cooldown, whereas Tang Feng’s required a three-day cooldown after use.
Luckily, he could enter anytime himself, but at this moment, he’d never leave his companions behind.
Jianqi and Yizi quickly used Bai Ruozhu’s poison, gaining some time to dart forward, as a barrage of hidden weapons chased them from behind. Jianqi and Tang Feng continuously blocked with swords, while Yizi attempted to assist but suddenly spat out blood.
Her hurried setup of the array and its subsequent destructions had inflicted an internal injury.
Jianqi held onto Yizi, continuing to run ahead, while Tang Feng covered from the rear, already hit by several shurikens, thankfully avoiding vital areas.
Each moment was a race against Death God, with the slightest mishap leading to capture or even death.
Tang Feng’s blood flowed, staining his sapphire robe, leaving speckles of red on the ground.
Jianqi and Yizi were also injured, their speed gradually slowing down...
"Seeking death!" A commanding voice rang out, followed by copper coins flying over. The three heard Jiang Yichun’s voice and nearly collapsed.
Jiang Yichun and Gao Zhou charged out, using Sword Qi and inner strength to fiercely attack the foes. What did they see? Three companions drenched in blood, almost dead here!
These ninjas couldn’t be spared! Jiang Yichun’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent, his sword piercing through a ninja’s chest.
Qiu Zhi at the back shouted angrily, "You bastards, I’ll burn you to death!"
He flung Fire Talismans toward the ninjas ahead.
Fo Lanying hurriedly supported Yizi, seeing several throwing darts embedded in her, eyes reddening with emotion.
"Don’t move, I’ll bring you back, Bai Ruozhu will heal you," she said tearfully.
Tang Feng, panting, chuckled, "No need to trouble Bai Ruozhu, it’s just superficial wounds. We have the medicine she gave us."
Fo Lanying knew Tang Feng was feigning nonchalance to prevent further worry, feeling even more distressed. Had she known the ambush was set, she wouldn’t have sent them out to procure array materials.
The townsfolk had long fled in fear, though some witnessed the scene, observing the Chinese-speaking individuals massacring several ninjas before aiding their injured companions away.
