Abandoned Wife? Her Starlight Shall Blind You!-Chapter 181 - 123: A Date to Go Boating on the Lake
Jun Moling almost burst out laughing in anger. Her words clearly implied that he was all appearance and served people with his looks.
And what about herself? She was merely infatuated with his beauty, without genuine feelings.
Such words, when heard, were indeed harsh and unpleasant.
She was better when she was drunk, acting freely. The words she spoke then, he loved to hear.
Unlike now, where she armed herself completely, with thorns all over, saying things she didn’t mean.
He shook his head helplessly and, following her words, jested, "I never thought the day would come when I, Jun Moling, would rely on beauty to keep my beloved. Not bad, I shall do my best to maintain it, not letting this face grow old easily."
Ruoxi’s face turned slightly red instantly. How could this guy act so unpredictably?
Moreover, the words "beloved" slipped so smoothly and naturally, it stirred a mess in her heart again.
He consistently created misunderstandings, making her feel he loved her. It was too infuriating.
She forced herself to calm down and said, "Prince, climbing walls is quite undignified. If it gets out, it won’t be good for either of us. Don’t come over anymore. Just send someone to pass on messages if needed."
Ruoxi thought he would argue further, but she didn’t expect him to agree so readily, "I can’t climb anymore from now on."
This was in line with her wishes. But for some reason, thinking that it would be difficult to meet again once they marry in over a month, a slight melancholy surged in her heart.
"Are you free tomorrow?" he suddenly approached her and asked.
The refreshing breath felt a bit warm, making Ruoxi retreat slightly, and she replied, "I am. What’s up?"
Jun Moling didn’t notice her slight unease and responded, "I’ll take you boating on the lake tomorrow."
Ruoxi couldn’t help but recall their previous experience in the border city, where they almost lost their lives in the middle of the lake.
She lifted her eyes and looked at him, asking suspiciously, "Why the sudden idea to go boating?"
Jun Moling smiled at her and asked, "Will you go?"
Ruoxi gently nodded, "Sure, what time?"
"Early! At 7 a.m., I’ll come to pick you up."
Ruoxi nodded in agreement.
The light inside the room was dim and yellow, with the soft moonlight filtering through the window lattice, casting a hazy glow all over the room, making the atmosphere exceptionally serene.
Jun Moling gently held Ruoxi’s hand, his voice tender as water: "I’m really leaving now."
Ruoxi pressed her lips, her ears slightly warm, and softly said, "Be careful. If someone sees you, quickly reveal your identity, so you don’t get mistakenly hurt."
Jun Moling was in high spirits. Despite her words, she still cared about him. But after experiencing a failed marriage, she didn’t dare to give her heart easily.
He had all the time in the world to wait with her.
"Don’t worry! If anyone in your mansion could detect my presence, would I still be surviving?" Jun Moling said with a smile.
What an audacious statement, Ruoxi thought to herself, remembering their first meeting, when he was on the brink of death. She thought at that time, he might not be saved.
Ruoxi tried to pull her hand back, but couldn’t.
And the one who said he would leave still stood there motionless.
She couldn’t help but look up and said, "Aren’t you leaving?" Her words showed no hint of reluctance.
Jun Moling felt slightly annoyed upon hearing this, "Not even a little sign before I leave?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Ruoxi’s face turned red once again, feeling speechless. This man wouldn’t stop.
She simply lay down and covered herself with the quilt, "Do as you please, Prince. I am really going to sleep."
Jun Moling lowered his head, gently pecked her lips, and softly wished her "sweet dreams."
He dared not linger any longer, afraid he couldn’t control himself, quickly opened the window, stepped out, and thoughtfully closed it behind him.
Ruoxi touched her own lips, her face becoming scorching hot.
She vigorously rubbed her face, muttering, "Stay clear-headed."
Then she closed her eyes, trying hard to fall asleep.
Early the next morning, Ruoxi got up very early. After freshening up and having breakfast, she deliberately changed into a slightly more vibrant dress.
Chuntao saw her, and feeling quite curious, "Miss, are you going out?"
Ruoxi smiled and nodded, "Yes, heading out for a bit."
Chuntao curiously asked, "Where are you going?"
Though unsure if it was due to Jun Moling’s invitation, Ruoxi felt rather happy and cheerfully replied, "Rowing by the lakeside."
Chuntao’s eyes lit up, full of anticipation, "Miss, are you going with Prince Zhan?"
Ruoxi didn’t hide it, openly admitting, "Yes."
"Take me along!" Chuntao eagerly requested.
"Okay, the three of you can all go if you wish. Staying indoors all the time is indeed suffocating." Ruoxi agreed readily.
Xia Lian glanced at Xueyan, and Xueyan hurriedly waved her hands, "I’ll stay in the house. There’s a lot to do, and it’s not good to go with so many people."
She knew well that Prince Zhan had invited the lady alone, and it would be inappropriate if too many people went along.
Chuntao then realized and said, "Let’s all go! One can serve from a distance, and the other two can go have some fun elsewhere."
Chuntao knew that perhaps due to her background, though loyal to the lady, Xueyan always felt a bit inferior around them.
Besides, she never went out, always preferring to stay indoors.
If it were Chuntao or Xia Lian like her, they would have felt stifled long ago.
"I’ll just stay in the room." Xueyan was still busily waving her hands, fearing she might breach etiquette in front of Prince Zhan and cause trouble for the lady.
After all, her background wasn’t good, and she couldn’t match Chuntao and Xia Lian in terms of manners.
"It’d be good to all go and take a break." Ruoxi’s lips gently parted, her voice clear and pleasant.
With her saying so, how could Xueyan dare to defy? She could only obediently comply.
Jun Moling’s carriage waited outside Shen Mansion, and Mi Yi accompanied him.
When he saw that Ruoxi had brought along three maids, he couldn’t help but twitch a bit at the corner of his mouth.
This future Princess Consort’s maids really lacked the sense of discretion, how could they all tag along?
Jun Moling descended from the ornate carriage, his posture upright and exceptionally handsome.
He didn’t mind at all that Ruoxi brought her three maids, and with gentle eyes, he said to her, "I’ll help you up."
Just as Ruoxi was about to refuse, thinking she could manage a carriage on her own,
but changed her mind when she noticed today’s skirt seemed a bit narrow, hesitating slightly, she gently took Moling’s arm.
In that instant, Ruoxi felt her body become light, as Moling’s strong hold lifted her steadily onto the carriage.
Subsequently, Jun Moling also boarded the carriage.
Chuntao and the other two understood the etiquette and didn’t bother approaching the masters, instead sensibly got onto the Shen Mansion carriage.
Mi Yi’s gaze lingered a while longer on those three maids.
Among them, one maid appeared charming and vivacious, with bright eyes that seemed ready to sprinkle joy and laughter at any moment;
another appeared dignified and composed, with a calm demeanor and an aura of confidence, seemingly one with her own opinions;
the last one looked rather fragile, yet she was the most beautiful.
With a gentle body like a willow, her posture graceful, though appearing somewhat reserved at the moment, her hands subconsciously intertwined before her.
Mi Yi looked a bit longer at these three because they were Ruoxi’s personal maids.
He knew well that Ruoxi held significant weight in his master’s heart, naturally prompting him to evaluate whether these maids were reliable.
From his observation, these three maids seemed promising.
At least from their attire and demeanor, it was apparent they were well-behaved and loyal individuals.
He thought, having them attending Ruoxi could also give the master greater peace of mind.
