A Star Reborn: The Queen’s Return-Chapter 1392: Swaying the City
Chapter 1392: Swaying the City
She felt sorrow and grief inside. She didn’t know how this man had persisted in such desperate situations, but he didn’t give up his plans to revive her. For a moment, she almost wanted to give up the warship and turn back into his arms. She almost wanted to tell him that her heart ached for him.
Now she understood why his body was full of scars.
When he was at Skatana, he often fought bloody battles, but as an excellent warrior, he had a strong healing ability and could easily heal any serious injuries without leaving any traces. It was only during the long interplanetary journey of hundreds of millions of years when he had to navigate this warship that was not suitable for long-distance migration that he had to overcome various dangers and consumed too much energy.
He had gotten hurt because of her.
She stared blankly at the worn-out warship. The scar on the ship overlapped with the scar on his body in her memory and was so shocking.
Li Rui looked at her strangely, not understanding what happened to her. She was alright just now, but why was she in a daze now? “Hey, Yingluo, what are you doing?” Li Rui was anxious and called her. “Wake up, don’t sleepwalk. The door of the battleship is open, shall we go up?”
He was eager to try. Every boy had a yearning for the universe carved into his bone marrow.
Xia Yingluo seemed to wake up from a dream and saw a gleam of light sticking out from the ship’s body, setting up a bridge for them to walk between the ship’s body and the ground. At the end of the bridge was an open ship door.
She settled down and said, “Let’s go.” She set foot on the bridge first.
Now was not the time to be sad. His treatment of her had long been a thing of the past. After arriving on Earth, he disappointed her again and again and she had given up. Separation was the best option. She didn’t want to be entangled anymore and experience the feeling of heartache.
The bridge formed by the light belt flowed with a sort of water-like luster, seemingly soft like the misty moonlight, and the ground was as hard as a rock. “What is this material?” Li Rui immediately followed her onto the bridge and stepped tentatively on the ground, seemingly very interested. He leaped in front of her quickly and turned happily to look at her. “Is this a material you have on the Skatana Planet? How interesting.”
“This is the synthesis of liquid metal with energy.” Xia Yingluo didn’t want to think about her complicated thoughts and wanted to distract herself, so she said to Li Rui, “Be careful and don’t bounce. Warships automatically assign energy based on the current energy situation and passenger weight to save energy. The energy distributed on this bridge is certainly not much. If you jump through the deck and fall, I can’t save you.”
As if to prove her words, she copied Li Rui’s action and the foot of the bridge plate suddenly darkened, making his feet sink half an inch in. Although he returned to normal after a moment, Li Rui was still scared pale. “Why is there a pit?!” He stood still and dared not jump anymore. The warship was suspended very high in midair and was probably three or four floors from the ground floor. It would not be a joke to fall onto the ground. “It seems alien technology is also no good,” Li Rui muttered in dissatisfaction. “Our Earth is still more safe and secure.”
Xia Yingluo laughed. It was so good to have a brother like him. When she was upset, he would always have a way to help her vent her sadness.
They entered the door one after another when suddenly, the closed doors of the hall behind were opened and a man appeared at the door. He saw the warship suspended in midair as well as two people walking on the bridge and shouted, “Ah Luo!”
His voice quivered and formed numerous echoes in the silent wide space. He kept calling—
Ah Luo, Ah Luo, Ah Luo…
Xia Yingluo looked back and saw Wei Lingnan.
The man ran to the battleship desperately and yelled heartbrokenly again. “Ah Luo—!” His expression was terrified, as if he saw the end of the world, and reached out to her. “Don’t go!”
However, it was too late.
She and Li Rui had reached the end of the bridge. She finally glanced at him and turned into the battleship. The door closed slowly behind her.
The light of the bridge dimmed and became transparent little by little. Finally, the countless light spots disappeared in the air.
“Ah Luo, don’t go!” Wei Lingnan’s vocal cords were hoarse and he looked hopeless. Seeing the battleship door closed tightly, he instinctively used his teleportation ability. His voice distorted in the air and disappeared in place. In the next second, he slammed into the battleship’s protective cover and, under the impact of the huge light waves, he was severely dropped to the ground.
He was heartbroken, and his eyes were full of the distant warship until he forgot to protect himself. He fell so badly that his bones broke in more than a few places and he vomited blood weakly.
On the battleship’s control screen, Xia Yingluo looked on with a pale face.
Her hand rested on the control key, shaking slightly, and she hesitated to press it.
Li Rui also accompanied her to witness the tragic situation outside. The man fell from such a high place and was not dead. He barely supported his body and looked up in the direction of the battleship. He had to say that alien life was really tenacious. He looked at his sister’s pale face and asked, “What button is this? Do you want to go and save him? Can he even die? If you land, you won’t be able to get away today with how sinister and cunning he is.”
Xia Yingluo’s hand was still shaking, but she pressed the button a little bit. “I want to… look at him.”
Of course, she knew he couldn’t die. Back on the Skatana Planet, he had fought more fiercely than this. But every time she saw him get hurt, she felt as though there was a knife in her heart. She wanted to stay with him and help him bandage his wounds.
Li Rui grabbed her by the hand. “You’re crazy! Remember when he locked you in the base last time. You escaped only to be captured again because you turned back when he was struck by lightning! Xia Yingluo. Isn’t it enough to suffer once, why are you so stupid!”
She looked sad and moved her lips without refuting him.
She stared quietly at Wei Lingnan, who was covered with blood on the ground. Her body was in her brother’s arms, and along with the battleship, they rose higher and higher. The sky above the hall automatically opened, letting them fly out.
“Ah Luo…” She flew far away, and it was as if she could still hear the sound of his tragic crying in her ears.
The battleship dangled, and the external screen on the monitor changed, showing that they were passing over the city. Many citizens looked up at this post-modern sci-fi warship, raising their fingers and pointing at it, their faces full of shock and amazement.
Li Rui learned lip language and easily recognized their mouth shape—
Look! UFO!
He looked blankly at his disappointed sister in his arms and asked, “What shall we do now? Where shall we go? Missy, please give me some advice. Is it really good for you to fly an alien spacecraft in the downtown area like this?”
