A Serpent's Tale-Chapter 380: Slaughterfest
I squinted my eyes at the oncoming assault from the monsters. They would not live past today for disturbing this moment with my father.
And I knew my father felt the same as he started to pour his power into me. And to better hold said power, I started to transform, but the moment I started to use [Demonic Transformation] I felt something within me change slightly.
And I found out what it was just a moment later.
[Ding!]
[You have reached incredible levels of attunement with all of your bloodlines and transformation skills. You can now access all of your transformations through the new [Bloodline Metamorphosis: LvL. -/-] Skill. Due to this, you have lost the following Skills; [Demonic Transformation: LvL. 3] and [Bloodline Manifestation: LvL. -/-].]
I didn’t have time to question this sudden as one, I was already in the process of transforming, and two, I had to deal with the oncoming threats.
But thanks to my new Skill, and the support I was getting from father, I knew that this would be an absolute breeze to deal with.
Suspended in midair thanks to my [Astromancy], I felt my form get larger. Much, MUCH larger than before. So large that I think I could even contend with some of the beasts in size alone.
Size wasn’t all I received however, as I felt a massive increase in my power also. Almost like it had doubled. And when I checked my Soul Scroll, it had actually tripled.
My transformation, or rather metamorphosis stopped and I admired what I could about my new form that seemingly tapped into all three of my Bloodlines now.
My skin had turned blood red, obvious which Bloodline that comes from. My claws seemed even sharper than the last time I remember using this transformation, and even more powerful to boot. I felt like they could tear through space itself with their newfound power.
I sadly didn’t have time to check out the rest of my physical enhancements as all of the monsters still stupid enough to come and attack me even after this transformation.
Smirking, I readied myself for combat.
The first monster to reach me was a feathered monster with a beak and talons aimed directly at me. I simply smacked it in the side of its face, swatting it away with ease.
That didn’t deter the rest of the monsters however, and instead I found myself fighting against two of them. One of them a slim four-legged scaled monster, the other a beefy four-legged furry monster.
With just as much ease as with the feathered one, I was able to dispatch these two with a single blow. The scaly one went down with a simple punch to its snout and the furry one went down with a simple fireball.
I continued to take out each monster with just as much ease, slowly descending to the surface with each monster either killed the moment I struck, or incapacitated.
At some point though, a large group of them decided to swarm me all at once from every direction. I merely smirked and prepared my next move.
I geared my body up and suddenly started to spin, whipping my tail all around me to smash into each of the monsters. Any I might miss I could deal with just as easy as the rest afterwards.
When I was done though, I felt my body spinning uncontrollable for a few more seconds and making me dizzy as I was not prepared to spin for longer than that.
I wobbled a little bit in the air as I got my bearings in order. And in that time, I was assaulted by several different attacks. From slashes to piercing and bashing attacks. But none of them actually managed to hurt me.
Still, I was annoyed despite not being harmed in a proper capacity as although I was unharmed, their incessant attempts to harm me were irritating.
With a burst of anger, I sent out a spherical wall of astral flames out around me, burning all of the monsters not even into ashes. They were just gone at this point.
I was surprised to see that there were still more of them coming even after all of that. But I wasn’t going to say no to a slaughterfest.
Eventually, I reached the ground, a small mountain of monsters piled up around me. At least, comparative to my current size. It probably looks like a mountain range mad out of corpses or something.
I could also feel my tail trailing along and over one of them. I knew my tail had extended quite far, but this felt almost a little too long.
Either way, I wasn’t done just yet. As now that I had slain most of these animals, I started to slither over to the shoreline, crushing trees and some more normal sized wildlife in the process. I think I might’ve crushed a couple of demons in the process as well but they’ll be fine.
When I got to the shoreline, I scowled as I swung my hand and sent a wave of flames across the waters surface to boil it away.
And the reason for me doing this soon became clear as the flames were quickly stamped out by another power.
And out from the sizzling depths came the very same monster that nearly killed me earlier. Now however, I was on par with it in both size and power.
I heard it growl at me as it raised half of its tentacles, ready to strike. I too prepared to brawl as I lowered my stance and spread my arms, ready to slash those damned things off.
For a second, we just stared at each other until the tentacled monster decided to attack first.
It swung four tentacles at me from four directions, thinking I wouldn’t be able to counter its attack. Oh how wrong it is.
As the four tentacles closed in on me, I crossed my arms in half a second before swinging them back out in an arc, creating a dual wave of slashes that immediately severed the tentacles into stumps.
The monster screeched in pain and recoiled as its four severed limbs fell to the ground, splashing partly in the ocean that was now being dyed red with blood. Or so I thought.
Turns out the monsters’ blood was completely blue.
’Well, no matter. It will be slai-’ I didn’t get to finish that though as suddenly the stumps I made started to bubble and regenerate.
And at first, I thought it was simply going to regenerate its tentacles, which while annoying, wouldn’t be too hard to deal with. But no, that’s not what happened.
Instead, TWO tentacles sprouted from the severed stump. ’Great...’
I sighed, but held my ground as I knew that I would be able to beat this thing, it would now just take some time to do so.
The tentacle monster then reared the tentacles for another attack, but before it could, I leaped towards it with unmatched speed, grabbing the main part of its body and sinking my fangs into it.
It tried to grab onto my body, but I was able to prevent it from crushing me with my [Elemental Scales], and allowing me to inject [Hell] attributed [Poison] into its flesh and blood.
After a few seconds of filling its body with a fatal poison, it tried to sink back underwater, but I wouldn’t let it go down and grabbed a better hold of it by digging my claws into it.
I then spun it around my body and flung it closer towards the land. But in doing so, I accidentally flung it onto my tail.
But that gave me an idea, which I then quickly did, wrapping my tail around its body and constricting it. I thought I would crush some of its bones but I couldn’t feel any in there. It was just really squishy.
The worst part was that it seemed like it would be capable of escaping if not for the fact that I still had a grip on it.
Fortunately, I wouldn’t have to worry about any of that as it suddenly started to thrash wildly, swishing its tentacles in any and every direction. I think the poison finally set in.
The monster kept on thrashing about, tentacles causing huge splashes in what part of the water we were still in, and creating impacts in the ground not so sunken in water.
This was it. This was my revenge. And nothing was going to stop me.
I slowly uncoiled my tail as the monster lost its strength and will to fight, and I started to grin manically as I started to basically torture as it was already dying.
And I tortured it by extending tendrils of my Mana to latch onto the tips of its tentacles and set them ablaze as I started to just wildly hack and slash at its body, spewing and flinging its flesh and blood all over the place.
I also made to pin it in place by conjuring a giant spear made from my [Astromancy] and stabbed though it, making it unable to move from this spot.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" My deranged and insane laughter rang out the entire realm as I maimed this monster to death slowly in what felt like minutes of pure bliss but were actually just a few seconds.
When I was done, I slinked back and admired my work. I knew that this probably wasn’t a good thing in any way, but did I care? No, of course not. I was just happy to have gotten revenge against this bastard of a monster for being the ultimate source of distress that I faced today.
But now that I was done with the massacre that I wanted, what exactly is my next move?
