A Serpent's Tale-Chapter 373: Barrier Blockade

With all the major things dealt with, the seven of us were now just standing about with no real idea on what we should do now.

Eventually though, Voluphar broke the silence, "Now what’re we supposed to do?"

That’s a good question. I’m supposed to be taking a fucking test to see how good I am with my [Space] magic, not inciting a demonic fucking takeover.

"Welllll... We could, I dunno, maybe loot the guy’s base of operations? Provided it isn’t already being raided and looted."

"I... Guess we can go do that." I agreed with a sigh, just deciding to see where this goes now. Who knows? Maybe I can get some good loot out of this. If not, something to do whilst I gigure out my next move.

We headed in the direction that we saw the boss of this place, bringing the bastard servant with us because who knows how useful he might be?

Anyways, within an hour we had reached our destination, and found several demons gathered around some kind of invisible barrier.

There weren’t many, just about enough to make a ring around about half of said barrier. Within the centre of said barrier, there was a small building, with which the barrier was originating from.

And the moment we arrived, everybody had felt it. Partly because I was still unleashing my power in my demonic form.

The reason I had yet to undo it was because I knew what demons where like, and the Pride demons at the very least wouldn’t take me seriously otherwise.

Altivolus and his compatriot would obviously, but not those gathered here.

All of them were clearly voicing their frustrations at not being able to get in, but the moment we, or rather I arrive, they all fell silent.

Half of them scuttled round the barrier and gathered in front of me. No guesses as to who these ones are. Pretty obvious who the remaining ones are also.

I didn’t really care to deal with this so I just slithered past the lot of them and came before the barrier.

It took only one glance for me to see why the demons couldn’t get in. It was powered with [Space] magic from the inside. And pretty strong by the looks of it too.

"Hmm..." I placed a hand upon it and tried to see if I could make a hole in it or something but to no avail.

"Any idea on how we can get in?" Altivolus came beside me and did the same as I was.

"I doubt any of you can do anything, as this isn’t just breaking a barrier by wearing it down. It has [Space] incorporated into it, and it’s extremely stable at that. Your infernal energies won’t be able to do anything to it."

"True, if we could do that, then these miscreants would have already raided the place empty by now."

"Which means only me, or that bastard servant can get in now. There may or may not also be more than one servant outside the barrier right now too. But fortunately for us, we already have one with us."

"Well, those are our best options right now. If we do need help, we could contact our kings to help us out, either by exerting their newfound control over this realm, or by forcing the former ruler to open it up for us."

"Then that leaves me with the task of opening this thing up, or at least trying to."

Once my surprisingly insightful and elegant conversation with Altivolus ended, I was then pressed to open up the barrier either through my own powers, or using others as some kind of catalyst.

At first, I had some trouble with it, but the more of my mana I attuned to [Space], the more I was able to control it, or rather, bend it to my will.

Unfortunately, I was running low on mana at this point. I had less than twenty percent left, and I didn’t know if I was going to get control of it if I continued like this.

’Wait, do I even need to gain control of it? Do I not just need to get through? If I can do that, then everything else will be a cinch.’

With that new idea in mind, I was able to slowly envelop my body in the barrier, starting from my hands and slowly spreading it up my arms.

To save on my mana, I pushed through the barrier as it enveloped my body, but when I got to my torso and tail, that was when things got a lot more complicated.

I couldn’t just cover all of myself in the barrier, that would take too much time and would drain my mana faster.

So instead, I started by doing what I did with my arms to my head, then my breasts, chest, upper stomach, my ass and then all along my tail.

When I was done after several long minutes, I was so incredibly tired as I had just one percent of my remaining mana.

"Are you okay?" Voluphar asked as his body slammed against the barrier, worried about my current state.

"I’m... I’m fine. Just... Drained..." I stopped using my [Demonic Transformation] as that was also draining a lot of my mana, and I felt so much better after doing so.

In my exhaustion, I collapsed to the ground as my body went into a form of hibernation to recover, which was just a fancy way of saying my body stop responding to me so that it could recover.

For a while, I just laid there, breathing heavily as my body tried its best to recover. I could’ve used my Lust powers to either suck myself off, fuck myself or just masturbated, that transformation also drained my physical stamina also, meaning that I had less than forty percent energy in my body right now.

I’d only make that issue worse. I would’ve recovered a portion of my lost of Mana sure, but my physical body would be even more tired, so it’s more practical to just rest instead and let it recover naturally.

’Oh, nice.’

I had been lying there for quite a while now, and had recovered a quarter of my mana and recovered up to almost sixty percent of my Stamina. That must’ve been enough to level that skill up. But if I have to do that every single time to reach the max level, I’d rather not experience this again of my own volition. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Anyways, time to get off my backside and actually lower the shield here... Or do I? I could just loot this place myself and no one would have any rights or capacity to complain.

’Yeah, I think I’ll do that.’

I got up and immediately headed inside the building to loot the place.
