Chapter 1292: Shocking Identity

"Brother Han..."

Right at his moment, Violet Spirit's voice rang out beside his ears, yet before he could turn to look at her, her voice rang out once again, this time with a bit more urgency.

"Don't move! Otherwise, you're going to arouse Shi Chuankong's suspicions."

"Do you have something to tell me?" Han Li asked through voice transmission while continuing to pretend to survey the landscape.

"Shi Chuankong definitely won't allow me to tell you about the objective of our journey to the underworld, so I can only tell you in secret like this," Violet Spirit said.

"What is your objective?" Han Li asked in a curious manner.

"We've come to the underworld to secure a treasure by the name of the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate. It's an incredible treasure that can allow one to regain their memories from their past life, thereby receiving their cultivation experience from their previous life to significantly enhance their cultivation base," Violet Spirit revealed.

A hint of surprise flashed through Han Li's eyes upon hearing this.

Violet Spirit mistook the surprise in Han Li's eyes for disbelief, and she hurriedly continued, "I know it sounds unbelievable, but I'm telling you the truth. Someone in the Devil Realm has previously used this method to make significant strides in their cultivation base in a very short time, and Senior Xie sent me and Shi Chuankong into the underworld to try and secure it.

“This is a secret of the Night Sun Empire's imperial family, and that's why Shi Chuankong didn't tell you. I suggest you follow me and Shi Chuankong in secret, Brother Han. The Six Paths Reincarnation Plate will definitely be useful for you as well."

"I believe you, Violet Spirit," Han Li reassured. "In fact, I've already heard about the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate, and we're actually on our way to it as well."

This time, it was Violet Spirit's turn to be surprised.

After a brief silence, she said, "I'm glad to hear that. I've heard that the Heavenly Court has been exerting tremendous pressure upon you of late, so you have to make sure to grasp this opportunity."

A hint of warmth welled up in Han Li's heart upon hearing this, and there were countless things that he wanted to say to her, but ultimately, he replied, "I'll do my best."

With that, Violet Spirit fell silent as she continued to focus on her own recovery, while Han Li also turned his attention back to lookout duty.

Close to two hours later, Violet Spirit and Shi Chuankong opened their eyes before rising to their feet, and the latter said in an apologetic manner, "Sorry to keep you waiting, Fellow Daoist Han."

"It's fine. Now that both of you have had a chance to rest, it's time to set off. We're traveling to the Yellow Springs, how about you?" Han Li asked with a smile.

Shi Chuankong was clearly very much taken aback to hear this, and Han Li explained, "We heard that there's a treasure by the name of the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate there that can awaken memories of one's past life, and we really want to see it for ourselves."

A wry smile appeared on Shi Chuankong's face as he said, "So you already knew about the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate. If I had known that, I would've been honest and upfront with you from the outset. Violet Spirit and I are also going there, so let's travel together."

"That's quite a coincidence," Han Li replied with a nod, and shortly thereafter, the group set off for the Yellow Springs.

......

Somewhere vast, chaotic space was a massive, floating city. The city was riddled with tall buildings, while its streets were wide and pristine. It was a city that wasn't inferior in the slightest even compared with the likes of Nine Origins City and Gilded City.

There were countless people roaming the streets, while innumerable streaks of light flashed through the air, presenting a lively and bustling sight to behold.

The people in the city came in all descriptions, including humans, devilish cultivators, demon beasts, ghostly beings, and even Gray Immortals, and all of them were getting along in a very harmonious fashion.

This would've undoubtedly been an astonishing sight for many cultivators of the True Immortal Realm.

At the center of the city stood a tall, dark red castle that dwarfed all of the surrounding buildings, and there were countless antiquated buildings within the castle.

The castle was also surrounded by tall and imposing walls, clearly indicating that it was a very important place.

Right at this moment, a streak of dark red light flew directly into the castle from afar, then descended in front of the palace to reveal none other than Wyrm 3.

The palace gates were wide open, and there were two yellow-robed guards standing on either side of them, both of whom immediately extended salute toward Wyrm 3.

Wyrm 3 paid no heed to the two of them as she entered the palace, and the interior was rather dimly lit, illuminated only by two rows of lit braziers hanging from the walls on either side of the palace.

The palace was completely empty with the exceptions of a raised platform at the very back and a chunk of azure jade that was the same height as a grown man at the center, standing beside which was an azure-robed man.

The man was slightly hunched over, and he was in the process of meticulously chiseling away at the chunk of jade.

The statue was already close to half-complete, and judging from its outlines, it appeared that the azure-robed man was carving out a woman.

"Wyrm 3 pays her respects to the esteemed palace master!" Wyrm 3 greeted with a respectful bow.

"How are things going on your end?" the Reincarnation Palace Master asked as he continued to focus on his sculpting.

"The Nine Origins Temple and the Heavenly Court still have a very strong presence in the Golden Origin Immortal Region, so I've already evacuated all of our members who are most prone to being exposed. The ones left are all extremely well concealed, and it should be impossible for the Nine Origins Temple and the Heavenly Court to uncover them, Wyrm 3 reported."

"It's better to be safe than sorry. Distribute Soul Reversion Pills to all of them, and if they're exposed and perish in battle, draw their souls into the underworld right away to arrange reincarnations," the Reincarnation Palace Master instructed, and Wyrm 3 gave an affirmative response.

"Where is Han Li right now?" the Reincarnation Palace Master asked.

"I've already sent out people to search for him, but he seems to have gone missing after he was last sighted on Raised Flagon Mountain of the Chu Yu Immortal Region," Wyrm 3 replied with slightly furrowed brows.

"Oh? Could it be that he's gone into seclusion somewhere?" the Reincarnation Palace Master speculated.

"That's certainly a possibility," Wyrm 3 replied.

"If you can't find him, then don't bother searching for him anymore. Now that he's already seen Rushuang, I'm sure he'll reveal himself to us soon," the Reincarnation Palace Master said.

Wyrm 3 hesitated momentarily, then asked in an intrigued manner, "How are the two of them related, Palace Master? It seems like Han Li cares a great deal for her."

"Rushuang was Han Li's dao partner back when he was in a lower realm," the Reincarnation Palace Master replied.

"I see," Wyrm 3 mused with an enlightened expression.

The Reincarnation Palace Master turned around as he said, "You've been working very hard lately. Go and take a good rest."

His face was still concealed in shadows, but judging from the outlines of his facial features, there seemed to be quite a gentle look on his face at the moment.

"Palace Mster, you told me that you would tell me about my past once I completed the Nine Origins Temple mission. Now that the mission is complete, can you tell me who my parents are?" Wyrm 3 asked with a look of resolve in her eyes.

The Reincarnation Palace Master looked back at her in silence, and the resolve in her eyes began to waver slightly in the face of his gaze, but she didn't back down.

"It looks like you really want to know. Fine, in that case, I can tell you who your mother is right now," the Reincarnation Palace Master sighed, and Wyrm 3 breath instantly became hitched in her throat upon hearing this.

"I brought Rushuang back to our Reincarnation Palace not just for Han Li, but also for your sake. Do you understand what I'm saying?" the Reincarnation Palace Master asked.

An astonished look appeared on Wyrm 3's face upon hearing this.

"You're saying Rushuang is my..."

"That's right, Rushuang is your mother," the Reincarnation Palace Master revealed.

......

Some time later, Wyrm 3 had already left the palace, leaving the Reincarnation Palace Master to continue his sculpting.

The sculpture was quickly completed, and it was a woman in a palatial dress, but her face was completely smooth and devoid of features, and it appeared that the Reincarnation Palace Master had no intention of continuing.

The Reincarnation Palace Master's artisanship was so exceptional that even with the woman left completely devoid of facial features, she was somehow still extremely lifelike, and he reached out to stroke the woman's smooth face in an entranced manner.

......

In the underworld.

Due to the fact that they had already been exposed to the Shang Goat Ghost Tribe earlier, they made no further effort to conceal themselves and were traveling at full speed.

As opposed to traveling in a straight line, the group was constantly changing directions in accordance with Gui Wu's instructions, doing their best to avoid the ghostly settlements along the way.

Several days later, they arrived before a black forest.

The trees in this forest were remarkably tall, with many of them standing at several thousand, even in excess of ten thousand feet, and their canopies were also very lush and dense, almost forming an impermeable barrier that kept out all natural light.

As a result, it was extremely dark in the forest, and there was a vast abundance of ghostly qi inside.

As the wind blew through the forest, a strangled, howling sound rang out, resembling the wailing of countless ghosts.

"This appears to be the Hundred Ghost Forest, a renowned place of peril in the underworld. Are we going to pass straight through it?" Shi Chuankong asked.

"The Yellow Springs are just on the other side of the forest, and they're surrounded by the forces of the four major ghostly tribes of the Yama Region. It would be bad if we were discovered by them, so it's safer to travel through the Hundred Ghost Forest," Han Li replied.

This was a path suggested to him by Gui Wu, who had begun communicating to Han Li solely through voice transmission ever since Shi Chuankong and Violet Spirit joined their party, and it seemed that he didn't want to reveal his own existence to them.
