A Night of Desire-Chapter 50: He Actually Found Her at School?
Clara Grant should have already been at the university, but her electric scooter got a flat tire right after she left home. She had no choice but to find a repair shop to get it patched.
There were two or three other vehicles ahead of her, so she had to wait in line. When it was finally her turn, the mechanic took one look and said her tire was old and worn out. It already had several patches, and even if he added another, it would likely pop again. He warned it could be dangerous to ride on and recommended she get a new one.
To save money, Clara had bought a second-hand scooter in the first place, and she wanted to save money now, too. She insisted on just getting it patched instead of replaced.
By the time the tire was patched, nearly half an hour had passed.
Fortunately, she hadn’t left late, so the thirty-minute delay wouldn’t make her tardy for class.
Twenty minutes later, she reached the university gate. Clara rode along, smiling and greeting classmates she knew as she passed a black luxury car parked by the side of the road.
Luxury cars often parked at their school gate. They were either picking up pretty girls or dropping them off. It was a common sight.
So Clara didn’t give it a second glance.
But just as she passed by, someone behind her suddenly called out her name.
"Clara Grant!"
Clara slowed down but didn’t stop. "Yeah?" she called back, turning her head, the bright smile from greeting her classmates still on her face.
But in an instant, the smile froze on her face. Her hand trembled, and she nearly toppled over, scooter and all.
Leaning against the car with one hand in his pocket, Seth Quinn was staring right at her.
’Seth Quinn? How did he find me here?’
’There are so many classmates around. What if people get the wrong idea and think I’m being kept by some rich guy?’
’I can’t afford that kind of reputation!’
Without another thought, Clara quickly found a place to park her scooter and hurried back to Seth Quinn’s side.
When Seth Quinn caught sight of Clara in his peripheral vision, he had gotten out of the car without a second thought and called out to her.
When Clara turned around, he clearly saw the bright smile on her face freeze before she turned her head and started to ride away. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Just as his expression soured, thinking she was running away, he saw her turn back and return.
’So she was just parking her scooter, not running away in disgust at the sight of me.’
At this realization, a warmth he himself wasn’t even aware of crept into Seth Quinn’s eyes.
He opened his mouth to speak, but before any sound could escape, Clara clamped a hand over it. "Wh-what are you doing here? H-How did you find me?"
Seth Quinn found her nervousness rather amusing. Unconsciously, his lips curled into a smile.
’So the girl who always pretends to be so calm can lose her composure after all!’
And he had to admit, this side of her was actually quite... cute.
The movement of Seth Quinn’s lips tickled Clara’s palm. She suddenly realized that in her panic, she had actually covered his mouth with her hand.
Clara’s face flushed red, and she quickly pulled her hand away. The memory of the tingling, ticklish sensation of his lips on her palm made her blush even deeper.
She forced herself to calm down and said to Seth Quinn, "L-Let’s talk in the car... Quick!"
She stammered, glancing around nervously. After speaking, she gave Seth Quinn a little shove before quickly walking to the other side of the car, pulling open the door, and getting in.
Seth Quinn raised an eyebrow. He glanced at the woman in the car who was pretending to be calm, then got in as well.
"Close the windows."
He hadn’t even settled into his seat when he heard the woman’s faint voice again.
Seth Quinn didn’t say a word and rolled up the windows as she asked.
But the faint, subtle smile never left his lips.
Feeling safe at last, Clara adjusted her posture to face Seth Quinn. The moment she saw the smile on his lips, she couldn’t help but freeze for a second.
That smile wasn’t his usual mocking, disdainful one. It actually held a hint of gentleness and affection.
But then she laughed at herself inwardly. ’Am I crazy? How could Seth Quinn possibly be gentle and affectionate toward me?’
’I should be grateful he isn’t looking at me with disgust and contempt!’
With that thought, her delicate brows furrowed, and a trace of sarcasm entered her bright, lively eyes.
"Mr. Quinn, you aren’t so desperate to sleep with me that you’d track me down all the way to my university, are you?"
