A Night of Desire-Chapter 156: Miss, How Many Would You Like?
Clara was completely baffled by the girl who had suddenly appeared. When the girl pushed the suitcase at her moments ago, she had taken it without even thinking.
Hearing the girl’s question, Clara instinctively shook her head. "No."
"Oh, good then." The girl quickly put the items away, zipped the suitcase shut, and picked it up to leave.
"Wait!" Faye Jennings, who had just snapped out of it, called out to stop her. "Who are you? Don’t you know this opening ceremony is a private event? How did you get in?"
’My plan was flawless. Where did this whole ’wrong suitcase’ bit come from?’
’Where on earth did this woman who claimed to have the wrong suitcase pop up from? Ugh, never mind where she’s from. The point is, now that she’s appeared and said she took the wrong suitcase, Clara’s name will be cleared!’
’Doesn’t that mean my plan will be ruined at the last second?’
The woman stopped in her tracks and answered Faye Jennings, "Oh, my apologies. I’m a tourist here at the film studio. I saw you were holding an opening ceremony and got curious, so I dodged security and snuck in. I’m so, so sorry."
As soon as the woman finished speaking, soft "ohs" of understanding rippled through the crowd. So it wasn’t Clara’s suitcase; it was just a mix-up.
Faye Jennings, growing anxious, pressed on with her questions.
"Then... what about the things in that suitcase? Are you sure it’s yours? Why would a young woman like you be carrying so many of... those? You nearly caused our colleague here to be completely misjudged because of all this stuff."
Perhaps Faye was worried people would grow suspicious of her aggressive questioning, so she pointed at Clara as she added the last part, making it seem as if she were simply concerned and sticking up for her colleague.
"Are you referring to the adult toys for women? I sell them. That’s all my merchandise. I figured I could do a little business while I was here touring the sights."
As she spoke, the woman suddenly leaned in close to Faye Jennings, gave her a mysterious wink, and said suggestively, "Perhaps you’d like to try a few, miss? I guarantee these things will send you to heaven and back. Satisfaction guaranteed, or you don’t pay a dime.
So how about it, miss? Want to grab a few?"
Although the woman had leaned in close, her voice was surprisingly loud—at the very least, loud enough for everyone present to hear clearly.
And so, before she could even finish, a ripple of low, stifled laughter went through the crowd.
Faye Jennings never expected to be so brazenly flirted with and humiliated by another woman. She immediately turned beet red. But she was somebody, wasn’t she? She was the top actress at Aegis, a three-time winner of the Best Actress award, an A-list celebrity.
She struggled to maintain her powerful aura, her elegant brows knitting together as she rebuked the woman. "How can a young woman like you say such explicit things without any sense of shame? Do you have any idea who I am?"
"Of course I do. You’re the famous star Faye Jennings. But celebrities are no different from ordinary women, are they? They need sex, they need to orgasm. It’s a private matter, that’s all. Nothing to be ashamed of."
As she spoke, the woman made a show of opening her suitcase again. "So, you want some? If not, I’m leaving."
"Wait!" Faye stopped her again, then turned to Clara. "Clara, aren’t you going to check your suitcase? It’d be terrible if something was stolen or swapped out."
She said as much, but she had an ulterior motive.
’My people already tossed Clara’s real suitcase God knows where. This one that just showed up obviously isn’t hers.’
’But I obviously can’t say that out loud. So, making her open the suitcase for inspection is the most direct approach.’
’What if the suitcase is empty?’
