A Night of Desire-Chapter 112: Visiting Our Restaurant Twice in One Day
Of all the places Seth Quinn could have brought her, it just had to be the ridiculously expensive Western restaurant Miles Quinn had taken her to that very morning.
’He was clearly in a bad mood. Was his plan to eat me into bankruptcy just to cheer himself up?’
Clara Grant’s first instinct was to flee, but Seth Quinn, getting out of the car right after her, seemed to know exactly what she was thinking. Before she could make a move, his arm was already around her waist.
"Let’s go inside."
"Uh... well, look, it’s only a little after four, not even five. It’s too late for lunch and too early for dinner. The restaurant might not even be open yet. How about we..."
Clara Grant dragged her feet, trying her best to persuade Seth Quinn to pick a different spot, all with a strained smile on her face.
But before she could finish, Seth Quinn cut her off, his voice flat. "This restaurant is open all day, so there’s nothing to worry about. Let’s go."
Clara Grant mouthed a few complaints but, with no other choice, allowed him to half-push, half-drag her inside.
’Since there was no escape, she’d just have to bite the bullet.’
They found a table by the window and sat down. A waiter immediately brought them two glasses of complimentary water and handed them menus.
Seth Quinn was the one who wanted to eat. Clara Grant had eaten a big lunch and wasn’t hungry, so she naturally left the ordering to him.
Not that Seth Quinn seemed to expect her to order. He didn’t even bother asking for her opinion, simply rattling off a long list of dishes on his own.
Feeling bored, Clara Grant suddenly remembered something and pulled out her phone to check the school forum. The post about her had vanished. Vice Principal Chandler and the others must have deleted it out of consideration for Miles Quinn.
’Power really is a useful thing,’ she mused. ’It makes getting things done so much easier.’
’If Miles Quinn weren’t the second young master of the Quinn Family—Seth Quinn’s brother—Vice Principal Chandler and Director Conway probably wouldn’t have let me off so easily.’
The thought of Miles Quinn going so far as to pretend to be her boyfriend just to help her made Clara Grant’s heart melt.
She exited the forum and put her phone away. Seth Quinn had already finished ordering, and the waiter was quickly reading the order back to them to make sure it was correct.
As Clara Grant listened to him recite the list of dishes, she felt that something was a little off, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was.
’If I can’t figure it out, I won’t waste the brain cells trying.’ Clara Grant picked up her glass and took a sip of water. Just as she did, she saw the waiter glance at her and then let out a small "Oh?"
"I was wondering why this order was identical to one a customer placed this morning, not a single item different. So it’s you again, miss, welcome back to our restaurant..."
Before he could finish, Clara Grant nearly choked on her water. She looked at the waiter—sure enough, it was the same one who had taken their order that morning.
’I’m so dead!’
Feeling flustered, Clara Grant snuck a glance at Seth Quinn. He seemed expressionless. Only then did she manage a very unnatural smile for the waiter before lowering her head and quickly gulping down her water.
The waiter, however, continued with a polite smile, sparing no effort in promoting his establishment. "So, how do you find it, miss? Our food must be to your liking, otherwise you wouldn’t grace us with your presence twice in one day."
"Here in Novaria, we are the most professional and authentic Western restaurant. We’re honored that you enjoy it so much, miss. Please, come back often."
Clara Grant muttered a string of agreements—"Yes, yes, of course, thank you"—and finally managed to send the waiter on his way. The moment she looked up, she saw Seth Quinn sitting across from her, watching her with a leisurely gaze and what looked like a hint of amusement on his face.
