A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 32: THE END OF THE DEAL

"Must be a conversation in my head," Zuri replied nonchalantly. She had to focus on her meal and tune out the voices in her head. They were getting louder and she had used up all her medicine. She was getting sloppy from taking it lately.

Meanwhile, Khaos studied her for a while, before turning back to his food. The next day, they went to Saber street to meet with the traders.

Khaos' beta was already there. Bryden. He was as tall as Khaos, which meant he was very tall. He had broad shoulders with dirty blonde hair. He raised his brows when he saw Zuri, but aside from that, he didn't say anything.

Today, Zuri was wearing a dress from the Wolfdale Kingdom. Every Kingdom had a different style of dress and the reason why Khaos chose the Wolfdale kingdom as his alias was that the people from that kingdom used to dress conservatively.

The Wolfdale Kingdom was a vast desert land, which made its people cover their faces to protect their eyes from the sand.

This style was well known and even when they were not in their kingdom's territory, their people were comfortable enough to cover their faces.

Their wolf form was also different in size and color, but they wouldn't talk in the wolf form in this meeting, obviously.

And because Khaos' gray eyes would give away his identity, he had to drink a potion that could change their color to black, which was more common in this continent.

"I see, you will not budge on the price," Khaos said. "In that case, I don't think the deal can go through."

Bryden had been asking them to lower the price, but they didn't agree, offering a thousand and one excuses as to why they couldn't sell the ships for less than one million gold. Zuri grabbed Khaos' hand under the table, a cue for them to leave.

"We will call you back after we think about this." Khaos then stood up as they kept yapping about why they couldn't lower the price and how the quality of the ships were top notch.

However, Khaos kept walking away, the three of them entered the carriage, where Caiden was already there.

"Go back to the inn," Khaos said to Gayle, who sat on the coachman seat.

"So, what was the point of coming here if we didn't close the deal?" Caiden tilted his head.

"We will not make a deal with them," Zuri said calmly. She took off the scarf that covered her face. She was sitting next to Khaos inside the carriage, while the beta and the gamma were sitting across from them.

"Why not? So, what is even the point of you being here?" Caiden gave Zuri a calculated look, which made the luna raise her brows.

"Even with me here, if you are robbed of ten million gold, indeed, what is the point of me being here?" Zuri raised her brows, challenging the gamma. "Since your alpha said he has the money to pay them off, I shouldn't be here in the first place. The deal should have been sealed a long time ago, no?"

Caiden shut his mouth. Khaos indeed had the money, but...

On the other hand, Zuri scoffed. This man had been rather impolite ever since they met for the first time. He reminded her of Silas, her first brother. Mildly put, he was a brat.

"Create five fake identities and give them the same offer at thirty percent of the price, but don't buy ten, you must ask for one or two ships only."

"What is that for?" Caiden tried to follow, but seriously, trading was not his forte, while Bryden observed Zuri.

Khaos had said that the mastermind behind the trading of the River Creek pack was not Alpha Roland. The alpha had his suspicions for a long time. Khaos thought it would be one of his sons, but only recently did he figure out that it was his only daughter.

Khaos wanted the River Creek pack, but not the River Creek pack under Alpha Roland, since that man was basically useless. He was someone of no value.

The person that he wanted was someone that could compensate for his shortcomings in business, someone who knew how to run a business and in just one conversation with Alpha Roland, Khaos immediately realized he was not that person.

And now, Zuri really proved it to them that she was the real force behind her father.

"No, I don't know anything," Caiden said, cutting her off before she could finish her words, but Bryden stepped on his feet to make him stop talking.

Zuri continued as if Caiden had not interrupted her. "...Ship trading is not really popular. Not everyone buys a ship every day; you'd be lucky to sell more than three in a year." She paused to gauge their expressions. It was actually rather weird for her because these three men were very focused on what she was going to say next. "Make them chase the buyer, not the other way around."

Zuri explained a little bit more about her plan and while Khaos immediately understood the gist of her explanation and Bryden was still asking a few questions here and there, Caiden was at a complete loss.

Even so, they did what she told them to do once they returned to the inn. They waited.

The five price quotes from the fake traders they created to buy the ships were rejected, because the price that they offered was way lower than what they desired. Now, they had no other choice, but to go back to Khaos and agree to his price. But then, Khaos rejected them using the pretext that he had changed his mind and no longer wanted to buy those ships.

Obviously, they were frantic and met the price that Khaos demanded, even so, Khaos denied them.

In the end, after a week in Lumicen city, they got the ten ships for only four million gold.
