Chapter 44: Chapter 38: Wen Yangzhi Killed by a Tiger
Chapter 44 -38: Wen Yangzhi Killed by a Tiger
If only big brother belonged to her and her alone.
If big brother hadn’t gone to watch fireworks with someone else, hadn’t spent that year at the fireworks festival in Tokyo with someone else, and hadn’t celebrated his birthday at a restaurant by Victoria Harbour with someone else, if only he could just be hers and hers alone.
Why would big brother turn to someone else when she clearly loved him the most?
Since he was kind to her, why couldn’t he be kind only to her?
Anything others could do, she could do too, and what others were unwilling to do, she was willing.
She was always ready to let him intrude into her territory.
Is it just because she was younger than him?
When Yun Yuwan sunk into the vigorous heart affairs of a young girl, she likewise drowned in the boundless sea of self-inflicted sorrow.
Initially, she realized she had an extreme sense of possessiveness, not when she found out Wen Yangzhi might have a girlfriend.
But rather the feeling that he couldn’t have other sisters, not even biological ones.
She felt a faint sense of repulsion and jealousy towards Wen Yangzhi’s cousin, Wen Wan.
But that year, when Wen Wan came to visit, Yun Yuwan overheard Wen Wan saying that Wen Yangzhi was never kind or cheerful to her. She even avoided him, fearing that she would bother Yangzhi.
Yun Yuwan felt a malicious pleasure in this.
She knew such happiness was not good, but she couldn’t help feeling overjoyed.
Big brother was nice only to her, his one sister.
Wen Wan truly treated her like a cousin. With Zhao Qin absent, Wen Wan would call her to pluck the leaves from the Maple that Wen Yangzhi had planted.
Yun Yuwan was astonished.
While Wen Wan furiously plucked leaves, she complained about Wen Yangzhi, “How could you think Wen Yangzhi is gentle? When I was only seven years old and I snatched his teddy bear, he just picked me up and threw me out.”
Yun Yuwan pressed, “Which teddy bear?”
Wen Wan didn’t even look at her, “Haven’t you seen his huge teddy bear?”
Seen it? Of course, she had.
Wen Wan chattered on, “All I wanted was the little bear hanging on it, to hang on my bag, but he just picked me up by my collar and threw me into the fountain. I cried loudly, and he just stood there on the edge, watching me coldly, telling me not to touch his things.”
Yun Yuwan was shocked, but remembering how her brother had given her the teddy bear after she had touched it once, she hid her phone behind her.
Wen Wan still tried to tarnish Wen Yangzhi’s image in front of Yun Yuwan, “You don’t know, but your brother is super fierce and he’s not into sharing his feelings with others. However much you try to please him, he doesn’t appreciate it. He mostly confides his secrets in a church, speaking to a priest behind a black curtain, but never to people.”
Yun Yuwan hadn’t expected that her brother had such a habit.
Wen Wan continued her tirade like a machine gun, “There was a boy from a family in the construction materials business, of the same age, who was trying to get close to him and always looked for opportunities. He hid in the church and overheard that my cousin had never had a birthday party but actually wanted one. That boy took the time to organize a surprise party for him and decorated the venue.”
Yun Yuwan asked, “What happened after that?”
Wen Wan hurriedly continued with Wen Yangzhi’s tree:
“But when Wen Yangzhi saw it, he wasn’t happy. He just glanced at it and walked away. You see how heartless he is. That boy later approached Wen Yangzhi, and Wen Yangzhi actually said that the Wen family would never do business with them again.”
Facing Wen Wan’s criticism, Yun Yuwan felt that what her brother did wasn’t wrong:
“But obviously that boy had ulterior motives for going to great lengths to get close to big brother, even going to church to eavesdrop on his privacy, purposefully exposing what he wanted. That’s very impolite; I wouldn’t like it either.”
Wen Wan paused in her leaf-plucking, clearly not having considered this perspective before. After a while, she said softly, “Anyway, Wen Yangzhi is so fierce, like a dead tiger. You should stay away from him to avoid being bullied by him.”
Yun Yuwan had never reached out to pluck leaves.
How could big brother bully her when he cared for her so much?
Wen Wan said big brother was extremely fierce, but big brother wasn’t fierce at all.

Big brother was very gentle, in fact.
Wen Wan stuffed all the leaves she had plucked into Yun Yuwan’s pocket to prevent herself from being discovered:
“Wen Yangzhi has the looks of a Ferrari but the temper of a tractor. I don’t want to hang out with him. You should stay away from him too.”
Yun Yuwan was terrified and covered her pocket to prevent Wen Wan from stuffing more leaves into it.
Meanwhile, as Wen Wan cursed Wen Yangzhi, he had just returned shortly before.
Looking down from Jing Building, he noticed the tree had been stripped bare and was told by a servant that Miss Wen Wan had come.
Wen Yangzhi’s expression darkened slightly.
The servant awkwardly said, “She was with Miss Yun.”
Upon hearing that Yun Yuwan and Wen Wan had stripped the tree together, Wen Yangzhi touched his forehead in mild exasperation.
The servant cautiously asked, “Shall I call them over?”
Wen Yangzhi’s voice was cool and indifferent, “No need.”
