A Bastard's Allure-Chapter 130: Demonpyre
In a flash of anger, Gabriel held her by her hands, flipping her over from behind him until she landed hard on the wooden table. And as if that was not enough, he grabbed her by the neck, dragging her over the sharp pawns until she landed on the other end of the table, now bleeding profusely.
Giving her little to no room for composure, he grabbed her by the collar and tossed her to the wall as if she was weightless.
He walked towards where she had landed, now trying to get up, and kicked her hard in the stomach. She lay on her back, her hair now sprawled as she sputtered blood.
He knelt beside her, grabbing her by her hair. She grinned at him with her bloody teeth. "Honestly, I never knew you had it in you," she said.
"You know nothing about me," Gabriel said before he landed a punch on her face, breaking her nose in the process.
She coughed out some more blood, Gabriel’s fist resting in the air ready to wreck havoc on her face. But for some odd reason, he hesitated.
"Let me guess. You don’t have the balls to hurt a woman," she said.
Gabriel caught his lips between his seething teeth when she burst out in laughter, nearly choking on her own blood. He stood up, surprised by her behavior. Was she some kind of psycho?
Kara supported herself to her feet, her now messy hair hiding the better part of her destructured face.
"Beating another woman for seducing you is just," she pointed.
Gabriel didn’t know how but the next thing he knew, he had moved in what could be termed as a blur, pushing her back against the wall.
"There," Kara spoke against his chokehold. "You were always meant to be like this. You think you can hide it? I’m probably the only one who will have the guts to show you who you truly are."
Gabriel’s brows furrowed at her statement. "You think you’re helping me?" He finally spoke.
"Helping you is what I’ve been doing since I came here," she replied. "I slept with you..."
Gabriel could hear none of it. He landed a fist across her cheek that sent her flying across the room and leaving a debris where she landed. His rage burned afresh when he imagined what Elena might be going through because of her.
An ambient glow enveloped his fist, and moving in the speed of light, he landed the punch in her gut sending her spiraling in the air before she landed on the table. It immediately broke in half at the impact.
Making his way through the flying stacks of battle plans, he held her by her hair forcing her into a kneeling position. Her entire outfit was now covered in blood.
The ambient glow in his fist had turned to a fury red, his intent to kill raw in his eyes.
Kara’s heart skipped a beat. She wanted to reveal his true powers but she never thought he’d be this powerful. A single strike from him and she was sure death would be certain.
Gabriel tilted her face ready to strike when she called, "Wait!"
His fist dangled in the air ready to strike a deadly blow. His eyes met hers, and for once, he saw fear in them. She was no longer the cocky Kara but a little scared girl.
"If you spare me, I’ll tell you where your mother is!" She blurted before he’d reign death upon her.
Gabriel’s eyes lit before he let go of her, taking a couple of steps back.
"My mother? I haven’t seen her for a week now," he stated. "Where is she? Did you kidnap her too?" He asked, now walking back towards where Kara knelt and holding her by her hair. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"I didn’t!" Kara replied in defense. "It was my father!" Gabriel released her.
"Your father? Why would your father kidnap her?"
Kara looked at him, a smirking escaping her lips despite the blood flowing from her mouth. "Because he’s the king of the underworld, and your mother was once his mate."
Gabriel stood up raking his fingers in his hair. This could not be true, could it?
"You didn’t think I’d jump into the life of some random vampire bastard, brother?" Kara added, making everything she said look sensible.
But why would his father marry a demonness who was once the mate of the king of demons? Wouldn’t that be declaring war on the already warring species?
"You’re not just any bastard, Gabriel Sinclair. You’re the son of the strongest vampire king of our age and the demonness who made the underworld tremble at her presence."
"Your kind lives only once in every thousand years. And when you do, the world must bow down to your power. I’m not your enemy, Gabriel. I chose to help you despite the order to kill you from my father. I can say I’ve had many chances for that."
"Why didn’t you?" Gabriel couldn’t help but ask.
"There’s a library in the underworld. There I found a book that documented the events that followed up the birth of the last demonpyre. They say not even death can stop him!"
She stood up, her wounds now healing as if they were never there in the first place. The only thing that showed she had been wounded was her bloodied clothes.
"My father is a fool to believe he can escape you. No one, not even your brother can stand in your way."
Gabriel scoffed. "If that’s the case, I could have won the war already."
"There’s so much you don’t know about yourself, Gabriel Sinclair. The power inside you, it infinite!"
"There’s nothing inside me but a beast that would wreak havoc if let loose," he retorted.
"You’ve been fighting it?" She asked. "You can never fight a part of you. That’s being in war with yourself, and you’ll never win."
"I’ve been winning since I was a child," he replied.
"I have a feeling you’ll let him out in the this war," she added.
Before Gabriel could ask further, the double doors swung open and a knight came in to report in haste.
"The bloodsuckers are matching towards the wall, Your Highness."
Gabriel turned around to look at Kara but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Let’s go!" He said, following the knight outside.
