Chapter 359: Back to the Cliff

"If you want one, when we return to Imperial City in a while, I’ll ask Yun Hong to get a full-length mirror for you," Yin Yang said seriously.

"That works too, having a mirror is indeed convenient," Xu Mumu nodded, acknowledging the convenience of a mirror.

The two walked along the mountain path, picking any tender wild vegetables they encountered. However, in this weather, truly tender wild vegetables were still quite scarce. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Along the way, Xu Mumu inquired about Yin Yang’s affairs in Lan City, and Yin Yang did not hide anything from her.

Xu Mumu raised her eyebrows slightly. Yun Luo was finally dealt with. She never got a good feeling from that girl, so Xu Mumu was never inclined to get close to her.

But now that it’s resolved, Xu Mumu felt happier, with one less person coveting her boyfriend, especially one less strong competitor.

"Our luck isn’t bad," Xu Mumu’s gaze fell on a wild chicken trying to fly ahead, and with a flick of her sickle, she chopped the chicken’s neck.

"Our luck is indeed not bad," Yin Yang said, his lips twitching as he observed the unfortunate fate of the wild chicken.

Yin Yang went over to pick up the chicken and put it in the basket. The chicken was still bleeding, and he held it by its feet until it stopped dripping before setting off again.

"I find that you’re becoming more down-to-earth," Xu Mumu smiled at Yin Yang, who now wore a straw hat and carried a basket. He no longer resembled the elegant young master he used to be and looked more like a country boy.

"This is called adapting to the customs," Yin Yang said earnestly. Without the usual troubles brought by the Yin Family, being here in the countryside, especially with Xu Mumu, made him feel particularly relaxed and content.

If he could, he truly wouldn’t want to deal with the Yin Family affairs.

However, with those illegitimate children, the Yin Family was his, and regardless of his reluctance, he wouldn’t let them take any part of it. They were undeserving.

"Right, adapting to the customs. If those girls who like you saw you like this, they probably wouldn’t continue to like you," Xu Mumu smiled warmly.

"Wouldn’t that be great? I don’t need their affection anyway," Yin Yang laughed brightly. Now he no longer needed to care about so many things. With his grandfather doing well in Imperial City, no one could force Xu Mumu.

But was Xu Mumu an ordinary girl? Not at all. Her abilities were exceptional, and even if others held weapons, they might not be her match.

And since Xu Mumu was often with him, and with the security they had arranged in Imperial City, it was hard to threaten them.

"Yes, you’re becoming more perceptive," Xu Mumu patted Yin Yang’s shoulder with satisfaction.

"Of course, you don’t like having other women around me," Yin Yang said with a smile.

If he hadn’t met Xu Mumu and taken a liking to her, he might have married Yun Luo to bring down the Yun Family.

But now, with Xu Mumu by his side, he naturally didn’t want to use that method to harm her; there were other ways to deal with the Yun Family.

It’s not like there was only one way to deal with the situation; that was just a shortcut.

"Indeed, I don’t like it. If you dare to get close to other girls, I’ll get a new boyfriend," Xu Mumu said with a smiling face, though her smile looked a bit sinister.

"That won’t do. No one can compare to me," Yin Yang held onto Xu Mumu’s hand, unwilling to let go. The girl he liked was the most special one. Who else remembered things from their past life or was as strong as she was?

"Where does that confidence come from?" Xu Mumu glared at him; this guy was getting more and more self-absorbed.

The temperature on the mountain was quite humid, so Xu Mumu led Yin Yang towards the shade of the trees, heading deeper into the mountain.

When they reached the cliff, Xu Mumu noticed a few people sneaking along a path leading to a cave at the bottom of the cliff.

Xu Mumu: "..." Could it be that someone from the nearby teams found this place?

"What are those people sneaking around for?" Yin Yang asked in a low voice. Both stood at a distance, so the people didn’t notice them.

Xu Mumu looked at those people, whose clothing matched those worn by the nearby teams, worn out and one carried a hoe.

Looking at Yin Yang, Xu Mumu felt a bit complicated. "There’s a cave below the cliff where a former landlord’s treasures were hidden."

"I remember some police came to your house some time ago and carried away a pile of things from the mountains. It was from here, right?" Yin Yang raised an eyebrow, instantly connecting the two events.

"Yes, the things were moved," Xu Mumu nodded with a smile, but the items kept at home, compared to the Yin Family’s assets, were nothing. It was frustrating to think about; she had secretly rejoiced for a long time back then, but looking back now, it was frustrating.

"Those people might have guessed something and probably aren’t content without trying to see if they can get lucky," Yin Yang commented, glancing at the people.

"Probably," Xu Mumu didn’t mind much, as the things below were moved and handed over, and had nothing to do with the Old Xu Family anymore.

"What’s it like below the cliff?" Yin Yang asked curiously. He hadn’t been inside and was quite curious.

"It’s just a huge cave. If you want to see it, I’ll take you there in a couple of days. Someone’s there today, so let’s skip it," Xu Mumu suggested with a smile.

"Alright, it’s quite hot now. We should head back and not make grandma and grandpa worry," Yin Yang said, checking his watch and glancing at the sun-exposed area. Standing under the sun would definitely be uncomfortable.

"Okay," Xu Mumu nodded. The cave wasn’t anything special to look at, so it was better to go back early, especially since the heat was uncomfortable and the way back was pretty far.

On the way back, Xu Mumu caught two more wild chickens. There seemed to be plenty of wild chickens in the mountains, likely due to the high temperatures and flourishing wild grass, with a large mountain for cover, resulting in an ample food supply for the wild chickens.

"There are so many wild chickens on the mountain," Yin Yang said, adding the third wild chicken to the basket. His girlfriend’s skills were impressive; even without him, she’d do perfectly fine.

"We’ll have potato and chicken stew tonight," Xu Mumu said joyfully as she loved chicken.

"Whatever you like to eat," Yin Yang said helplessly.

"I’ve never noticed you having a particular food preference," Xu Mumu said, surprised as she looked at Yin Yang. He seemed to eat everything without having favorites or dislikes.
