100\% DROP RATE : Why is My Inventory Always so Full?-Chapter 46 - Tame
Chapter 46: Chapter 46 - Tame
Before Aldren and Roneth departed for Lootwell, their fathers gave them a simple but weighty instructions.
"See it with your own eyes," they were told. "Lootwell may hold the key to our survival. Judge fairly, be genuine and... never underestimate anyone."
So they did.
Along the way, the members of the Lootwell convoy shared tales of Lucien.
At first, they sounded absurd. Almost like folklore!
But evidence accompanied every story and slowly, disbelief gave way to awe.
Then came the wall.
Massive.
Imposing.
Impossible to ignore.
That was when it hit them.
Lucien was no ordinary young baron.
And when they finally met him... the stories did not disappoint.
He wasn’t just some noble child playing politics.
He carried himself with poise. With dignity.
He was charismatic.
His presence alone demanded attention. Without speaking a word, he overwhelmed them.
Still, as heirs of their own noble houses, Aldren and Roneth knew they had to uphold their own dignity.
Even if deep down, they already understood. Lucien was someone far beyond their expectations.
Back in the present.
Aldren and Roneth led Lucien to the carriages parked near the plaza.
One in particular stood out. It was hitched to a large reinforced cage. And inside was...
A monster.
But not just any monster.
A breathtaking one!
Its coat was pure white. It glowed under the sunlight.
Graceful.
Majestic.
Holy.
A creature that felt sacred.
"Our fathers caught this," Aldren began.
"But it’s untamable," Roneth added. "Strong. Wild. We had to keep it sedated just to transport it here safely."
The creature which was still under the effects of sedation lay motionless yet its presence radiated power.
"It’s a rare monster," Aldren said. "Too rare to kill. But keeping it around... it was becoming dangerous."
They had been close to disposing of it. Better to let it go or put it down than risk it turning violent in their stables.
But just as the decision was about to be made, the news from Lootwell arrived.
About Lucien.
And then it hit them. Maybe this impossible creature... could serve as a gift.
A powerful gesture of goodwill.
A symbol of trust.
...And a problem they couldn’t solve.
Win-win.
Even if Lucien chose to kill it, the gift would still hold value.
Unicorn materials were rare.
Its horn alone could fetch a fortune.
Its hide, bones, even its blood are all valuable ingredients for equipment, potions and other things.
Whether Lucien tamed it or harvested it, they believed it would be a worthy gift either way.
When Lucien laid eyes on the creature, his breath caught.
He fell in love again.
Its beauty was undeniable.
Radiant white fur.
Elegant form.
And the spiraled horn on its head shimmered faintly even in sleep.
It was serene and otherworldly.
Lucien instinctively activated INSPECT.
His eyes widened.
"A Unicorn!?"
The moment hit him like a spell. The unicorn was beautiful.
No, cool.
Its entire presence exuded grace and quiet strength. He felt an immediate pull, a strange yet familiar connection.
Though sedated, the unicorn stirred as Lucien stepped closer. Its eyes slowly opened.
Their gazes locked.
It didn’t snarl.
It didn’t flinch.
It watched him... calmly.
Lucien’s voice was soft but firm. "Can you release it?"
The two heirs hesitated.
"Baron, with all due respect... it was extremely aggressive," Aldren said carefully.
"Yes, Baron. We’re not exaggerating. It’s dangerous. We could get hurt," Roneth added.
Lucien didn’t answer. His gaze remained fixed on the unicorn.
And still, it watched him without hostility.
He slowly extended his hand.
Aldren and Roneth flinched, instinctively about to stop him...
...but the unicorn lowered its head gently.
It pressed its muzzle into Lucien’s hand.
Not with violence... but trust.
It didn’t lash out.
It didn’t resist.
It looked... comfortable.
The heirs were speechless.
The beast that wouldn’t let anyone near it was now calmly nuzzling the hand of a young baron they had just met.
Something about Lucien had reached it and neither of them could understand how.
Lucien raised his hand and summoned his book.
MONSTERDEX.
The pages flipped on their own, glowing softly as the creature standing before him was identified.

The two heirs blinked in surprise as the glowing book appeared before them.
A floating book?
They looked at each other.
"A skill?" Roneth asked.
Aldren muttered under his breath. "Probably. Skills are weird."
They didn’t press further.
Lucien calmly asked again, "Can you open the cage? I have a plan."
They hesitated again but the unicorn’s peaceful demeanor was undeniable. It stood beside Lucien like a loyal steed. Not a caged beast.
Reluctantly, Aldren nodded. "Alright."
Roneth moved to unfasten the locks.
As if understanding every word, the Unicorn let out a soft, melodic neigh.
With a low creak, the cage door opened.
And the unicorn stepped out.
Unhurried.
Unafraid.
It walked up to Lucien and gently nestled its head against his body like a gesture of trust.
Lucien smiled and reached into his INVENTORY.
He pulled out a handful of glittering orange shards.
Carrot Bits.
He held them out in his palm.
The unicorn sniffed curiously then munched on them happily. Its ears flicked in contentment.
Aldren and Roneth stared.
"...It’s eating?" Aldren muttered.
Roneth frowned. "It never ate before. We tried everything. Even fresh apples. It wouldn’t even look at the food."
"But now," Aldren said slowly, watching Lucien and the unicorn, "look at it..."
Then he glanced at his friend.
"Ron... they say unicorns can see through people."
Roneth raised an eyebrow.
"Hey Al. Are you saying we’re bad people?" he said with mock offense. "Maybe it just didn’t like your smell."
Aldren snorted. "No, your smell’s worse. You smell like a country bumpkin." He teased with a smirk.
Roneth shot back immediately. "You’re a country bumpkin too, idiot!"
The two exchanged playful jabs, lightening the mood.
But Aldren’s words weren’t a joke. Not really.
He wasn’t calling himself bad. He was simply realizing something.
The unicorn saw something in Lucien. Something different. Something... pure, perhaps. Or something powerful.
Roneth didn’t catch the full meaning of what he said.
Lucien chuckled softly as he listened to the two heirs bicker.
He wasn’t offended. In fact, he found it amusing.
But in truth, he had a different theory.
After reading the unicorn’s profile in the MONSTERDEX, it all made sense.
Unicorns preferred areas rich in mana.
Clean.
Vibrant.
Life-filled places.
Wherever the nobles had kept it, it probably wasn’t ideal.
Most likely, it had been confined to a stable and surrounded by dull stone and stagnant air.
It wasn’t just untamed.
It was unhappy.
Lucien glanced around.
Lootwell wasn’t exactly brimming with natural mana like ancient forests or sacred springs.
But it had something else.
Something more.
Lucien quietly channeled Divine Energy in his eyes.
And what he saw made him pause.
Golden light.
Gentle.
Radiant.
Divine.
It floated in the air like sunlight trapped in mist. It weaved through the land.
The atmosphere had changed.
Mana was still there but it was overlaid with something stronger. Purer.
Divine Energy.
It had started when the wall was completed. The massive construction had become more than defense. It had become a conduit.
And the Rainbow Slime Lord Statue had amplified it further. They radiated gentle divine energy across Lootwell.
That was what drew the unicorn.
It wasn’t just the land. It was the energy.
Even the Carrot Bits he fed it... they were drop items. Infused with Divine Energy themselves.
Lucien smiled.
No wonder the unicorn responded.
Suddenly, a familiar chime echoed in Lucien’s mind.
[Ting!]
[The Unicorn wants to follow you.]
[Accept / Decline]
Lucien’s eyes lit up.
His lips curled into a grin. "I’m really a freaking tamer now huh? Hell yes! I accept."
Another prompt followed.
[Please assign a name to the creature.]
He placed a hand on his chin. The majestic white creature watched him patiently. Its mane gently swayed in the breeze.
Then it came to him.
With a confident nod, he said, "Sparkles. You are now Sparkles."
[Ting!]
[Sparkles is now registered in MONSTERDEX.]
[Sparkles can now be stored and summoned via MONSTERDEX.]
Lucien laughed in delight, almost childlike in his joy.
Not only had he formed a bond with a rare creature but he’d also confirmed something far more important:
He could tame wild monsters... naturally. Without needing a Monster Card.
The MONSTERDEX was far more versatile than he’d thought.
And Sparkles... was just the beginning.
Barons Hornvale and Needlehart hadn’t just supported Lootwell with supplies.
They had given Lucien something far more valuable.
Because of this gift, Lucien had made a major discovery
And Sparkles wasn’t just a majestic companion.
It was another ally. Another pair of hooves for farming drops. Another weapon for the future.
Sure, the unicorn was only Tier 2 or Level 20 for now...
But it could grow.
Lucien turned to the two heirs and gave a nod of approval.
"I’m truly pleased by your gift," he said. "Aldren and Roneth, right? I’m seriously considering the alliance."
Both of their faces brightened instantly.
"Baron, you can just call me Al," Aldren said, a bit more casually now.
"Same here, Baron. Just Ron’s fine," Roneth added with a grin.
Lucien nodded.
"Good. In that case, I won’t be polite about it," he said. "As a gesture of thanks, I’ll build a road connecting our territories."
Aldren and Roneth blinked.
Lucien continued, "As you know, it takes nearly two days by carriage just to get here. Even without rest, we could barely shorten it to a day. The terrain is rough. The path is unforgiving."
They listened in silence. Their eyes locked on him.
"So the first step is to fix that. We’ll chart the most direct route and lay down proper roads. If all goes well, travel will become smoother. Trade will be faster and safer."
Lucien paused then added casually...
"Shouldn’t take more than a week."
That made both heirs freeze.
A week?
To build a road that long? Across that kind of terrain?
Impossible. Utterly impossible.
They almost opened their mouths to argue... but stopped.
Their thoughts returned to the walls of Lootwell.
Those towering defenses. It was said to have been built in just a week.
They hadn’t believed it at first.
But now?
Seeing Lucien.
Experiencing his presence.
Witnessing the unicorn...
Suddenly, it didn’t sound so far-fetched.
They didn’t speak. Not out of doubt but out of awe.
Hope.
Their minds drifted back to the journey that brought them here
The endless bumps.
The tiring delays.
The livestock they had to stop for again and again.
Supplies jostling in uneven carriages.
The exhausting travel that felt more like punishment than diplomacy.
But with a road?
There would be no more hassle. No more delay.
Trade with Lootwell would flourish.
An alliance wouldn’t just be beneficial. It would be revolutionary.
The two heirs looked at each other.
Their eyes gleamed with something new.
Excitement.
And vision.

Later that day...
Maxim sought Lucien out. His steps were light but his expression was curious.
Maxim crossed his arms and smirked.
"I heard what happened, Nephew. You tamed a unicorn huh?" he said, almost incredulous. "First that ridiculous slime, now this. Are you secretly a genius Tamer and just pretending to be a baron?"
Lucien chuckled. "Nah, I think the monsters just like me."
Maxim gave him a sideways glance. "Dangerous charm then."
He stepped closer. His tone shifted just slightly. More sincere now.
"Anyway. With that in mind... I didn’t forget. I came to deliver what I promised you."
Lucien tilted his head.
Maxim nodded. "The gift! A proper one. My thanks for healing me."
