Chapter 1557: Walk Together
Arnold noticed the lunch that had just been brought in hadn’t been touched yet.
Since there were special appliances keeping it warm, the food was still hot at this moment.
Someone came in, and Hannah also noticed.
She didn’t come down from the staircase and remained focused on the task in her hands, she asked, "Archer allowed you to come in?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
She knew it was Arnold.
She heard Archer grumbling and barking outside just before.
Arnold walked over, stood at the bottom of the staircase, and looked up at the person above, "I gave him some food, and he was temporarily bribed by me."
Hannah curved her lips, "Then you must have given quite a lot."
She, as the owner, knew very well how big Archer’s appetite was.
Hannah came down from the staircase, and when there were only a few steps left, Arnold reached out his hand and directly carried her down.
Although her feet had already reached the floor, Arnold still didn’t want to let go of his hold.
Hannah didn’t urge him to release her and simply leaned into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his waist.
The basement had several small windows, and through the windows, bright sunlight filtered in.
After a while, Arnold let go, reached out to wipe the dust from her face, "How much longer before Tree Star can be repaired?"
Today was Hannah’s fifth day in the Nine Realms, and Tree Star had gradually regained its former luster from its initial battered and outdated state.
At least from the outside, Tree Star now looked brand new.
"Probably, it will need another week." Hannah estimated the time, it shouldn’t take longer than a week.
Arnold already had an idea in his mind.
He had always known what Hannah wanted to do, and he did not intend to stop her but only wanted to be with her.
"After a week, you will leave, right?"
Arnold looked down into Hannah’s eyes.
Her eyes were always so clear, just like when they were seven, like a mirror, reflecting others but unable to see herself.
Just like at this moment, Arnold could only find his own reflection in her eyes.
Hannah did not answer immediately but looked up into Arnold’s eyes as well.
As their gazes met, after a moment, it was Arnold who compromised first.
He bent down and lightly touched her cheek with his lips, then led her to a chair nearby and sat down, "You haven’t had your lunch yet."
The basement had no spare chairs, so Arnold had to stand, then he reached out and opened the lunch that was still being kept warm.
The appearance of the meal wasn’t much different from what they had back on Blue Star.
Hannah sat beside him, quietly not speaking, just looking up at Arnold who was standing next to her.
The sunlight just happened to come through the window, softly enveloping half of his face and even adding a glint to those dark eyes.
"Arnold." Hannah suddenly called out his name.
Somehow, the atmosphere that had been warm just moments before suddenly felt a bit stifling and oppressive.
Like snowflakes falling under the warm sun; once they hit the ground, they turned into water, which then vaporized, leaving nothing behind.
"After Tree Star is fixed, I will leave."
Arnold’s hand that was holding the bowl and chopsticks paused momentarily, but his face showed no change of expression, he just continued to set the bowl and chopsticks for Hannah as usual.
"Mhm, I’ll leave with you when the time comes. For now, let’s eat."
Hannah also stopped speaking and took the chopsticks, bowing her head to eat her meal seriously.
When she finished eating, Arnold began cleaning up the bowls and chopsticks.
His silent, earnest manner of going about his tasks resembled the Archer from his days in Brie.
No, they were actually the same person.
After a simple cleanup of the basement, Hannah left with Arnold.
