Chapter 1531: Extra Rewards
The loudest cheers came from the man who had bet the most just a moment ago.
With odds of one to fifty, he had bet a whole two hundred glass stones and had finally won back ten thousand.
"I won! Hahaha!"
The man’s laughter almost reached every corner of the arena.
On the stage, Hannah stood in the center.
At the age of ten, she was small and unremarkable, short and inconspicuous. Some said she resembled a soybean sprout.
Yet, it was this inconspicuous little "soybean sprout" that had defeated a half-evolved beast.
It was a more terrifying presence than the mutant beast, the Split-Tooth Dire Wolf.
Some disagreed, shouting "extra match" and "rigged."
They had reason to suspect that the beast-fighting arena had rigged the game to make money.
After all, before Hannah went on stage, the host had specifically introduced her as a new contestant from the beast-fighting arena, just a child with no competition experience.
So who could have imagined that a ten-year-old child could single-handedly hunt down a half-evolved brown bear.
Even if this was in Briley.
At the host’s podium, after confirming that the brown bear had indeed died, he spoke again, "Everyone, please stay calm. Our beast-fighting arena has been around for many years, and naturally, there’s no need to deceive everyone with such tricks. You can all rest assured, as for this child..."
Pausing, the host looked towards Hannah, standing to the side.
Her face was smeared with fresh blood, obscuring her appearance even more.
Someone outside shouted, "She’s Seventeen’s brother, she can’t speak."
Hannah’s identity had to be concealed.
Fortunately, the host didn’t suspect anything. After all, Seventeen was considered an "old employee" at the beast-fighting arena, and also one of the strongest competitors there.
"Since she can’t speak, let’s call her ’Little Mute’ from now on!" The host struck the gong and raised Hannah’s hand, "I declare, in this match Little Mute wins!"
There were still shouts of unfairness.
But the host was clever, knowing how to maximize wealth creation for the beast-fighting arena.
"If anyone still has doubts, please look forward to Little Mute’s match next week, when the truth will naturally come to light!"
After the heated excitement, it was back to "normal" beast fights.
People’s attention was quickly diverted, but after today’s match, many remembered the name "Little Mute."
One could already foresee the booming situation at the beast-fighting arena next week.
After the match ended, the owner of the beast-fighting arena specifically called Hannah over.
Since Hannah "couldn’t speak" now, Seventeen went with her.
At the door, Seventeen said to Hannah, "Once we go in, you don’t have to do anything. I’ll explain for you."
Hannah nodded.
After leaving the stage, she reverted to her slightly slow and dull demeanor.
She wasn’t stupid; she just didn’t care or show interest in anything external.
Although the owner was somewhat curious about Hannah, he didn’t ask too many questions.
After all, Hannah was now, at least temporarily, a cash cow for the beast-fighting arena.
As for why a ten-year-old child like Hannah was so formidable, Seventeen explained that Hannah was his biological sister and both had a B rating in their psychic power tests.
A B-level psychic power was common enough outside, but somewhat rare in Briley.
The owner didn’t ask any more questions and simply took out a small cloth bag from the drawer and placed it on the table, "Inside here are three glass stones. Normally, winning a match doesn’t yield anything, but today is your first time on stage, consider this an extra reward."
