Nine Heavens Martial Emperor
Chapter 51 - 48: One Against a Hundred
What’s more, the current situation was far more perfect than Wu Tianli had ever imagined.
If the Pavilion Master of the Treasure Hunting Pavilion were to die in the Lin family residence... The very thought of it sent a thrill of excitement through Wu Tianli.
Wu Tianli suddenly put the thumb and index finger of his right hand into his mouth and let out a piercing whistle.
Before the whistle faded, figures began to swarm in from the perimeter. It was impossible to tell how many people were entering the Lin family residence at once.
The expressions of Lin Tianxiao and Lin Hao changed simultaneously. Wu Tianli had indeed come prepared. By the looks of it, he had surrounded the Lin family.
Lin Tianhao also realized something was amiss and asked, "Brother Wu, what is the meaning of this?"
"The stakes are too high to let them escape. This is merely a precaution," Wu Tianli said coldly.
Lin Tianxiao listened intently. No fewer than a hundred men were approaching. But upon hearing the sound of their footsteps, he relaxed. Among them, besides one at the Blood Coagulation Realm Fourth Layer, the rest were all at the Third Layer of Blood Coagulation Realm—nothing to fear.
"Wu Tianli, you are a patriarch! To openly attack the Lin family like this is utterly outrageous!" Ninety-Five suddenly spoke up.
He could ignore the Lin family’s affairs, but he would absolutely not allow any harm to befall Lin Hao.
And since the bond between Lin Tianxiao and Lin Hao was so deep, he couldn’t let Lin Tianxiao come to harm either.
"Hmph! I may call you Pavilion Master on a normal day, but you’re nothing more than the Wenren family’s dog. Stop barking in front of me!" Wu Tianli showed Ninety-Five absolutely no courtesy.
As he stared at him, Wu Tianli made no attempt to hide the killing intent in his eyes.
"Good! Very good! You’re merely at the Third Layer of the Elemental Realm. Do you really think you can kill me?" Ninety-Five was so furious he laughed.
"And what if you add me to the equation?" a voice suddenly echoed from midair. A figure then descended, landing beside Wu Tianli.
Ninety-Five’s eyes narrowed. He never imagined that in a small place like War Dragon City, there was someone whose cultivation level was nearly on par with his own—and a person he didn’t even recognize.
"Who are you?" The newcomer looked just like an old country farmer, dressed in patched clothes and puffing away on a long-stemmed pipe.
The old farmer grinned, the wrinkles on his face bunching together to reveal a mouthful of yellow teeth. "Heh heh, greetings, Pavilion Master. I am Huang Tiannong, the Shopkeeper of the Hundred Treasures Hall."
"The Hundred Treasures Hall! So it’s the Hundred Treasures Hall!" Ninety-Five was stunned for a moment, then killing intent erupted from him. With a flash, he lunged toward Huang Tiannong.
Today, Wu Tianli was hell-bent on killing him. Ninety-Five’s only option was to strike first and seize the advantage.
Huang Tiannong’s pipe traced a strange arc through the air, and he clashed with Ninety-Five.
"Brother Lin, he’s all yours! I’m going to help Brother Huang eliminate the Pavilion Master of the Treasure Hunting Pavilion!" After saying this, Wu Tianli joined the fray.
The temptation of the lost medicinal pills had blinded Lin Tianhao with greed. He charged forward without a second thought, shouting, "Brother Wu, have your men capture that little bastard Lin Hao!"
Lin Tianhao had spotted numerous members of the Wu family appearing in his line of sight, watching menacingly from the perimeter. And Lin Hao was actually trying to slip away.
Lin Hao was indeed trying to slip away. He was no help in a battle between Elemental Realm experts. He was better off using the opportunity to escape to the back mountain.
Wu Tianli was so thoroughly prepared, even planning to kill the Pavilion Master of the Treasure Hunting Pavilion on Lin family grounds. His intentions were truly vicious.
The Lin family had reached a moment of life and death. Their only hope was to ask the two elders to come out of seclusion.
However, seeing the dense swarm of Wu family Martial Artists rushing toward him from the perimeter, Lin Hao knew he wasn’t going anywhere.
He was standing next to a weapon rack on the training grounds and snatched out a long spear.
No words were needed. With a flick of his long spear, Lin Hao attacked!
The spear thrust out like a rainbow piercing the sun, tearing through the air with unbelievable speed.
The man at the front had no time to react before the spear tip caught him. Lin Hao twisted his wrist, blood splattered, and the man was brutally ripped in two.
At this moment, time was life. Lin Hao had to reach the back mountain as fast as he possibly could, or the Lin family would be doomed!
Therefore, from his very first move, he had to use his full strength.
Infused with his powerful True Qi, the long spear in Lin Hao’s hand began to hum, as if a ferocious tiger was about to be unleashed from its cage.
An inch of length is an inch of strength. His opponents, wielding long sabers, couldn’t get anywhere near Lin Hao. In just a few moments, he had killed five of them. Not one survived his first strike, each one brutally torn apart.
Lin Hao fought and retreated, steadily moving toward the back mountain.
"Don’t let him get to the back mountain! That place is..." Lin Tianhao, forced back by a palm strike from Lin Tianxiao, saw Lin Hao’s intent and screamed.
The rest of his sentence was cut off as Lin Tianxiao attacked again, forcing Lin Tianhao to raise his own palms to defend. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
However, it was enough. The Wu family Martial Artists had cut off Lin Hao’s path.
A glint flashed in Lin Hao’s eyes, and a wave of viciousness surged within him.
’This Lin Tianhao is truly beyond saving, utterly blinded by his own greed. The Lin family’s legacy cannot be destroyed by a person like him.’
As his thoughts turned, his actions followed. The long spear in Lin Hao’s hands became even more ferocious, his momentum unstoppable.
"Today, I swear on this spear to exterminate all invaders! Kill! Kill! KILL!" Lin Hao’s eyes were blood-red. With every "Kill!" that left his lips, another Martial Artist was torn apart by his spear.
At this moment, Lin Hao’s hair flew wildly and his robes whipped in the wind. Every thrust of his spear claimed a soul. He was like a berserker demon unleashed upon the world!
Before long, the grounds of the training field were dyed red with blood. More than a dozen corpses, all ripped to shreds by the spear, lay scattered about. Not a single one was whole. The place had become a purgatory on earth.
Lin Hao had entered a killing frenzy!
Earlier, the hundred or so Wu family Martial Artists had been disdainful, seeing only Lin Hao. They thought their Patriarch was making a mountain out of a molehill. Now, however, a chill crept up their spines.
This wasn’t a man; he was a reborn Asura!
Everyone backed away, terrified of entering the range of Lin Hao’s spear, because to get close meant death. And as one, their gazes all turned in the same direction.
On the outskirts of the crowd stood a tall youth.
The youth, about eighteen or nineteen, stared at Lin Hao with ice-cold eyes, his arms crossed. He looked at Lin Hao as if he were already a dead man.
He was a member of the Wu family, yet he was completely unmoved by the carnage around him, the very picture of ruthlessness.
Cradled in his arms was a snow-white silver spear, as tall as he was, that shimmered with a silver light.
Seeing the Wu family Martial Artists looking toward him, the youth spoke coldly, "Either you fight to the death, or I’ll kill you myself. The choice is yours!"
The faces of all the Wu family Martial Artists paled. They didn’t doubt the youth’s words in the slightest.
Although the youth was only from a branch of the Wu family, he had awakened his bloodline at the age of sixteen and had already been accepted into a sect.
A Sect Disciple doesn’t need a reason to kill!
But staring at Lin Hao, who looked like a blood-soaked Asura, filled them with an equal amount of terror.
"His cultivation is only at the Third Layer of Blood Coagulation Realm, and he doesn’t know any spear techniques. Your cultivation levels are comparable to his. Right now, he’s just burning through his potential. If any of you can injure him, I will recommend you to my sect."
The youth’s words were incredibly tempting.
The eyes of the Wu family Martial Artists lit up. Since they faced death either way, they now knew what choice to make.
Lin Hao had been keeping an eye on the youth at the perimeter. There was something familiar about him.
Hearing his words now, Lin Hao’s gaze hardened.
’The youth is right,’ Lin Hao thought. ’Every strike I’ve made has been with my full power, all to intimidate my opponents.’
’In a fight between Martial Artists, momentum is everything. My overwhelming aura was bound to strike fear into their hearts, hampering their ability to fight effectively.’
’In the past, I rarely had the chance to fight, let alone use a weapon.’
’The Lin family has a limited number of martial arts manuals. Even Sword Forms and Saber Skills are exceedingly rare, let alone techniques for the long spear.’
’Just now, I was relying completely on my mysterious True Qi to guide the spear.’
’The result is that even though every thrust was a killing blow, the consumption of True Qi is enormous.’
’I’m afraid the moment I run out of energy will be the moment that youth makes his move.’
He was tempted to abandon the spear and use his fists, but when he saw the long spear in the peripheral youth’s hands, Lin Hao decisively changed his mind.
’Since that youth uses a spear, he must know spear techniques.’
’Not long ago, I copied the Nine Nether Bone Claw from that instructor. I’ve grown fond of copying martial arts, so I have to wait for that youth to make his move!’
His eyes scanned his surroundings. The spear tucked under his arm suddenly shot backward. A Martial Artist preparing a sneak attack behind him was impaled through the chest by the shaft, his eyes wide as he began to fall.
Lin Hao saw in all directions and heard everything around him, as if he had eyes in the back of his head. The ambusher’s movements hadn’t escaped his powerful Spiritual Sense.
Just as he thrust the spear backward, the Wu family Martial Artists surged forward!
With his spear committed to the rear, it was the perfect opportunity to close the distance.
Once they were in close, his long spear would be useless.
But how could Lin Hao let them have their way? Pulling the spear back toward himself, he suddenly slammed his entire body backward.
The man who was still impaled on his spear was sent flying by the impact, and in that split second, Lin Hao had once again created distance between himself and the other Martial Artists.
With a flick of his wrist, the spear let out a WHOOSH as Lin Hao swung it like a staff, aiming for a Martial Artist’s head.
The Martial Artist at the forefront, bearing the brunt of the attack, never expected such a move from Lin Hao. He hastily raised his saber to block.
Under the full force of Lin Hao’s blow, the power behind the spear exceeded four thousand. Against this immense strength, the saber was not only snapped in two, but the spear continued on unabated, striking the Martial Artist’s head.
CRACK!
With a sickening crunch, the Martial Artist’s head was smashed to a pulp by the spear!
A gory mess of blood and bone!
The force of the impact bent the long spear, making it tremble. The web of Lin Hao’s own hand went numb from the shock.
However, when he saw the bent spear snap back perfectly straight, Lin Hao’s eyes lit up with realization.
’A straight spear can pierce the sun, but a bent spear can act as a bow. The force from it snapping back is just as astonishingly powerful.’
Having understood this principle, Lin Hao no longer relied on brute force alone. Whenever a Martial Artist got too close, he would use the snapping force of the bent spear to knock them back, then follow up with a sun-piercing thrust!
This method not only conserved his energy but was also far more effective. Before long, the ground around Lin Hao was littered with severed limbs.
No fewer than forty Wu family Martial Artists had been slain by Lin Hao’s spear, yet he himself remained completely unscathed.
Splattered with gore, Lin Hao’s entire body was dyed crimson. Even his hair was stained red, making him look like a berserker demon emerging from a blood-soaked ancient battlefield.
The once-confident Wu family Martial Artists were shaken once more. Gazing at the Asura-like Lin Hao, they didn’t dare take another step forward.
Some of them found their legs trembling uncontrollably under a single sweep of Lin Hao’s icy gaze.
"Hmph!"
The youth cradling the silver spear let out a cold snort and stepped forward!
