Necromancer: I Am A Disaster
Chapter 728: A Rare Sight: Two-Star Law Art
Bone Prison had once been a skill Lin Moyu frequently relied upon.
Back when his combat power was limited, he depended on control skills to deal with his enemies.
Whether chasing down opponents, dictating the pace of battle, or interrupting enemy skills, Bone Prison proved invaluable.
But as his enemies grew stronger, its effectiveness began to fall behind.
At the same time, Lin Moyu’s own power surged, and his fighting style shifted toward direct assaults. Gradually, the skill saw less and less use.
Until, in recent battles, it had been abandoned entirely.
Even so, Lin Moyu firmly believed that there were no truly useless skills, only useless class users and unsuitable situations.
Just because Bone Prison had become redundant for now didn’t mean it would remain that way forever.
Now, it had finally evolved from an ordinary skill into a law art, and a star-grade law art at that.
Though it could not bear laws, it was still immensely powerful.
Its previous limitations were gone; no longer restricted by skill level, it now depended solely on spirit force.
And spirit force was something Lin Moyu had in abundance. With enough of it, he could suppress his enemies completely.
More importantly, the damage-reduction characteristic had disappeared. It would no longer weaken his attacks.
The idea alone was exhilarating—locking enemies in place and striking freely while they were utterly helpless.
For a fleeting moment, Lin Moyu even considered trapping the Dragon Emperor and beating him mercilessly.
But reality quickly tempered that thought. Even if he poured all his spirit force into the law art, restraining the Dragon Emperor would be extremely difficult.
The difference in their levels was simply too great. He was only level 80, while the Dragon Emperor stood at level 99, at the peak of half-step Transcendental God-level.
Just one step further, and he would truly reach Transcendent God-level.
With that mysterious greataxe in hand, the Dragon Emperor’s combat power was already approaching Transcendent God-level.
Combined with his terrifying black hole-like skill, defeating him using only this skill would still be a daunting challenge.
“It’s not an offensive skill. Even without the ability to bear laws, the impact isn’t too severe.” Lin Moyu reassured himself.
He had previously managed to win against the greater world rune through sheer luck.
This time, however, the greater world rune had given him no opportunity, sealing his law art outright and preventing it from bearing laws.
As a result, even as a perfect star-grade law art, its strength was only marginally greater than that of an ordinary skill, far inferior to law arts capable of bearing laws
Antares remained in contemplation, eyes closed.
Lin Moyu didn’t disturb him, instead turning his attention inward to observe the new addition within his soul world.
The star representing Bone Prison floated alone, with no planet-grade law arts orbiting it.
This was expected. In Lin Moyu’s vision, all of his planet-grade law arts would eventually evolve into star-grade ones, each reaching a 100% fusion rate.
Not even the greater world rune would be able to stop him.
“Wait… what’s happening?”
He suddenly noticed something unusual. The stars representing Bone Prison and Bone Fangs were drifting toward each other.
A faint connection formed between them.
Flame-like threads extended from both stars like tentacles, intertwining as they drew closer.
When they reached a certain distance, they began to orbit one another.
Their speed accelerated, forming a breathtaking sight.
“Two-star…” Antares suddenly sighed.
At some point, he had awakened and was now staring intently at the revolving stars.
Lin Moyu asked, “What’s two-star?”
Antares’s eyes gleamed, “Each star represents a law art. When two compatible stars draw close, they resonate and form a connection, coexisting with each other. This is called two-star.”
“Once two-star is formed, the law arts’ effectiveness increases dramatically.”
“Activating a law art allows you to trigger the effect of two, yet you only pay the cost of one.”
“More importantly, the two law arts can bear two sets of laws and unleash them simultaneously…”
Antares voice suddenly trailed off.
He had just remembered Lin Moyu couldn’t bear laws.
But Lin Moyu didn’t seem bothered. He had already grasped the key points.
“I want to test something.”
Lin Moyu’s curiosity about the two-star law arts burned intensely. He was eager to witness their true power firsthand.
Antares, just as intrigued, agreed without hesitation.
With a casual motion, Antares seized several monsters. Their levels ranged from level 70 to level 80, all from the lower layer.
The lower-level monsters from the upper layer would no longer even qualify as test subjects.
Before Antares, the monsters could only tremble in fear, completely unable to resist.
Like meat on a chopping block, their only fate was death.
The law of the jungle was on full display.
Lin Moyu selected one monster and cast a law art.
Law art: Bone Prison.
The struggling monster froze instantly.
A layer of white bones encased its body, locking it in place as if petrified.
At the same moment Bone Prison formed, Bone Fangs erupted.
With a loud bang, tens of thousands of Bone Fangs erupted, shredding the monster to pieces.
“Interesting.”
A faint smile touched Lin Moyu’s lips, his earlier frustration gone.
He sensed it clearly. Bone Fangs had erupted from Bone Prison itself.
Not from a single point, but from all over the monster’s body.
Bone Prison had become a vessel for Bone Fangs, restraining the enemy while simultaneously launching attacks.
Two-star law arts… this was what Antares meant.
One skill triggered two effects, yet consumed only one portion of spirit force.
Bone Prison immobilized the target while simultaneously activating Bone Fangs.
Its practicality skyrocketed.
Even better, the usual accuracy issues of Bone Fangs were gone.
“Let’s try multiple targets.”
Using the same amount of spirit force, Lin Moyu soul locked onto several monsters at once.
Bone Prisons formed simultaneously, encasing each monster in a layer of white bones and freezing them in place.
Then came a rapid series of blasts.
Bone Fangs burst forth again, shredding the monsters instantly.
Still instant kills. No suspense whatsoever.
But there was a difference.
With multiple targets sharing the same spirit force, the number of Bone Fangs per target decreased.
The total output remained the same, but it was evenly distributed among the monsters.
“What if I use Bone Fangs instead?”
Lin Moyu pointed forward.
Law art: Bone Fangs.
A cluster of white light detonated, and Bone Fangs flashed.
The monsters struck by Bone Fangs were immediately encased in Bone Prison, locked in place.
The effect was the same when used in reverse
As long as one law art landed, it triggered the other.
Truly fascinating.
“Try it on me.” Antares said, narrowing his eyes as he once again volunteered as the test subject.
