"You know, if anyone else had asked, I would have refused to lift a finger. So, how do you plan on making it up to me?" Shin asked Retsu Unohana.
"Weren’t you the one who willingly offered to help?" Retsu Unohana replied with a gentle smile.
"Fine, I owe you one."
Shin shrugged helplessly, then his gaze fell on Shutara Senjumaru, who was standing aside, enjoying the show.
"You can’t just stand there and watch, can you? Are you really going to do nothing but watch us work? Aren’t you going to lend a hand?"
"I don’t know Kidō," Shutara Senjumaru said, shaking her head.
"Heh, if you say you don’t know Kidō, you must be lying." Shin stared at her intently. After all, she was an ancient being; there was no way she didn’t know healing techniques.
"Alright, fine, I’ll help. Just stop staring at me like that," Shutara Senjumaru said with a sigh, clearly frustrated. She had wanted to relax and take it easy, but now that Shin had called her out, she couldn’t refuse. Besides, deep down, she didn’t want him to dislike her.
"Actually, there’s a question I have to ask," Shutara Senjumaru said as she began to help.
"What is it? Go ahead and ask. If I’m in a good mood, I might answer you," Shin said, glancing at her.
"It’s about Aizen. You sealed him away, but can he really not break the seal?"
"Ah, that question. I can answer that for you. Without external interference, Aizen will remain sealed forever."
But if there was outside interference, Aizen might actually be able to escape.
"I see. It seems we really need to be on guard then." Shutara Senjumaru’s expression grew slightly grave.
Even without the Hōgyoku, Aizen was still incredibly dangerous. At the very least, Shutara Senjumaru didn’t think she could defeat him on her own. Even Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai couldn’t defeat him. The entire Royal Guard would probably have a hard time.
"Are you worried Yhwach will break Aizen’s seal?" Shin asked her.
"You know about Yhwach?" Shutara Senjumaru looked at Shin in surprise, then her gaze shifted to Retsu Unohana. Did she tell him? After all, information about Yhwach was a closely guarded secret.
"I never told Shin," Retsu Unohana said, shaking her head. She had never mentioned Yhwach to him. She knew about Yhwach, of course, but he had been stripped of his power and consciousness, completely sealed. She didn’t think he would ever have a chance to return.
"Don’t worry about how I know. It’s pointless to dig into it," Shin said to Shutara Senjumaru.
"I am indeed worried about Yhwach. Back then, Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai stopped his heart, his consciousness, and his power, but Yhwach didn’t die."
If he wasn’t dead, he was a threat. Yhwach was a terrifying figure. Even Old Man Yamamoto had paid a heavy price to seal him.
’900 years to regain his heartbeat, 90 years to regain his mind, 9 years to regain his power, and 9 days to regain the world.’
Yhwach had already begun to reclaim his strength.
But this son of the Soul King hadn’t made a move yet, and Shin wasn’t going to go out of his way to target him. It wasn’t worth his time. No matter how strong Yhwach became, he couldn’t win against Shin. Shin could instantly copy all his abilities—that was Shin’s most broken power.
"How much do you know about Yhwach?" Shutara Senjumaru asked Shin.
"I don’t know the guy personally. How could I possibly know much about him?" Shin said with a shrug. His knowledge was based on the original story, which might not be the same as reality.
"He’s a very dangerous person. I have a feeling Yhwach has already been revived."
Shutara Senjumaru said gravely.
"He never died. How can you call it a revival?"
Shin retorted with a glance.
"Alright, enough talk. Let’s get these wounded treated."
Shin cut her off, making her continue her work, much to her frustration.
Retsu Unohana smiled faintly. Shin was the only one who could make Shutara Senjumaru so obedient.
"Retsu, let’s leave these things to her. We’re going to take a break."
Shin smiled and took Retsu Unohana’s hand, leading her towards her office.
Shutara Senjumaru’s face turned dark. If she didn’t have to consider Shin’s strength, she would have attacked him.
After a cold snort, she ignored them and focused on using her healing techniques.
"They actually went back." Shutara Senjumaru glanced at them, her mood souring even further. Looking at the crowd of injured people, her expression twitched. How long would this take? A moment ago, Shin and Retsu Unohana were helping. Now, she was all alone. It was exhausting.
She was starting to regret following Shin to the 4th Division. What was wrong with her?
Shin, at this moment, had no idea how frustrated Shutara Senjumaru was. He was enjoying a cup of tea and a chat with Retsu Unohana.
"Is it alright to leave Shutara Senjumaru to work alone? Won’t she be angry?"
Retsu Unohana said, her voice gentle. But it was just talk. If she had to choose between chatting with Shin and helping Shutara Senjumaru, she would definitely choose the former.
"Let her be angry. If she’s really that mad, I’ll just kick her out of the 2nd Division," Shin said with a smile.
"Why? Do you dislike her that much? You know, Shutara Senjumaru is a great beauty. She’s quite stunning," Retsu Unohana said with a gentle laugh.
"What does her being beautiful have to do with anything? She’s a member of the Royal Guard. Who knows what her purpose is for staying in the 2nd Division?"
Shin shrugged. Though Shutara Senjumaru claimed to be interested in him, who knew if she was telling the truth? If she left in a huff, that would be fine. If she stayed, she could be a useful tool.
Thankfully, Shutara had no idea what Shin was thinking. If she did, she’d probably hunt him down and try to kill him.
Retsu Unohana also agreed with Shin. Who knew what her purpose was for staying?
