Fang Zhen looked toward the source of the voice.

As footsteps sounded, a man emerged from a corridor deep within the hall. He wore elaborate red noble attire and carried himself with exceptional grace, his expression a mask of faint, reserved arrogance.

As the man entered the hall, Fang Zhen got a clear look at his face.

Fang Zhen was taken aback.

The newcomer was very tall, nearly the same height as the Ellick who had just died. His build, posture, appearance, expression, and even his style of dress were as if cast from the same mold.

Even his blood-red hair, with its natural waves and curls, was styled identically.

The only difference was that the Ellick who had died, despite his astonishing regenerative abilities, possessed an unnatural aura of decay and decrepitude. Even though he had been agile, he still exuded the withered, deathly air of a man on the verge of his grave.

But this man before them was different.

This person was practically a carbon copy of Ellick, yet he was exceptionally young—appearing no older than twenty-two or twenty-three. Even the light in his eyes was different.

The newcomer still had blood-red eyes and the same posture and gait, but he was far more graceful and composed than the Ellick who had died.

"Are you Ellick's son? You look so much alike, you must be!" Pat blurted out the thought that everyone present considered to be fact.

"Crude. Your words lack any rhetoric or aesthetic grace," the newcomer, the towering young nobleman, said with a hint of disdain.

"Reproduction. Such an inferior, primitive, and vulgar method of propagating life. Do not apply it to me; the very thought disgusts me," the red-haired nobleman said. "Life is so mysterious and vast, its forms so diverse. Merely thinking about it is intoxicating, fascinating. And yet, reproduction is so base. To discuss them in the same breath is truly an unpleasant, even nauseating, affair."

"However, judging by your appearance, you are not far removed from your animalistic nature. Discussing such matters with you would be debasing myself. I shall forgive you for using language befitting a lower life form."

"The way you talk is pretty nauseating, too," Red Viper Laura said bluntly.

The red-haired nobleman shook his head slightly.

"Different life forms truly shouldn't converse with one another," the red-haired nobleman said, gently stroking his hair. "Though our physical forms are similar, we are no longer the same species. There is nothing for us to discuss in depth."

"Who exactly are you? What is your relationship to Ellick?" Gwendolyn asked in a low voice.

"How rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself," the red-haired nobleman said, primly adjusting his appearance and posture in front of everyone. "Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Ellick. I am the master of this castle, as well as the Lord of Ellick Territory and a Kingdom Count."

"It is your honor to witness me in person."

When the red-haired nobleman who called himself Ellick said this, the members of the Whig Society were aghast, even forgetting to complain about his unpleasant way of speaking.

Fang Zhen, however, focused his attention on the red-haired man claiming to be Ellick.

"What did you say? You're Ellick?" Pat was astonished and bewildered. "If you're Ellick, then who did we just kill?"

"Weren't you just calling that dead bastard 'Old Ellick'? So why are you calling yourself Ellick?"

"Or are you still Ellick's son? Ellick the Second?"

Pat's questions were also the questions on everyone else's mind.

'Ellick' shrugged and said, "What a shame. It seems you not only lack an understanding of the essence of life, but your brain also lacks any trace of breeding or education. You are a complete and utter barbarian."

"Then it's decided. When the fighting starts, I'll kill you first."

"I do not like crude things. People included."

This Ellick's words made the members of the Whig Society tense up.

They couldn't gauge the newcomer's true strength. He seemed incredibly mysterious, putting immense pressure on the members of the Whig Society.

"He isn't Ellick's son. He's Ellick himself."

Fang Zhen, who had been silent all this time, suddenly spoke up.

His words drew the attention of everyone present, including Ellick.

"Ellick has mastered a technique to replicate his physical body, and perhaps even his soul. I don't know the specific method, but this Ellick before us is a replica, or rather, he has performed a life or soul transfer."

Fang Zhen said.

His statement instantly stunned everyone from the Whig Society.

Even Gwendolyn, who was usually quite composed, wore an expression of shocked disbelief upon hearing this.

The others' reactions were even more exaggerated.

Ellick's gaze shifted to Fang Zhen's face, his blood-red eyes studying him silently for a long moment.

"How unexpected. The knowledge you possess seems to exceed the level appropriate for your class, status, and age. Your words have surprised me."

"Although you haven't guessed everything correctly, of all the people I have met, your answer is the closest to the truth."

"How did you figure it out?"

Ellick asked, seeming to have developed a great interest in Fang Zhen.

Fang Zhen chuckled but didn't answer.

'How did I figure it out?'

'It's because modern society has cloning technology. The idea of digitizing a human soul and transplanting it onto a chip to achieve technological immortality has always been a popular theme in science fiction. And in recent years, with technology advancing by leaps and bounds, this concept shows signs of moving from science fiction into reality.'
