Chapter 106: Post-Control

Natasha remained seated on the sofa with her arms crossed so tightly against her chest that it seemed she was trying to stop her own body from exploding with irritation. Her expression carried a chaotic mixture of humiliation, repressed anger, and existential confusion, while her eyes followed every little movement that happened on the other side of the room.

And that only worsened her mood.

Because Sapphire was perfectly calm.

The vampire sat beside Victor with an almost irritating naturalness, holding his arm delicately while drinking small amounts of blood in a completely controlled manner. There was no desperation. No trembling. No outbursts. She simply drank like someone sipping a particularly delicious cup of tea.

Tranquil.

Elegant.

Composed.

Natasha narrowed her eyes immediately.

"What the hell was that?" she asked suddenly, her voice heavy with accumulated indignation.

The silence in the room lasted half a second.

Victor slowly turned his face towards her.

Sapphire simply blinked calmly as she released his arm, discreetly wiping the corner of her mouth with a handkerchief. Even Rakshasa, who was practically occupying half of Victor’s personal space on the sofa, slightly raised her head at the aggressive tone.

But Serafall—

Serafall simply shrugged.

"I was having sex," she replied with absolute tranquility.

Natasha stared at her friend for a few seconds, incredulous at the naturalness of the response.

"You say that as if it explains anything!" she retorted immediately.

Serafall tilted her head slightly, as someone genuinely confused by the other’s difficulty in understanding.

"It was your fault," she continued. "You slept in my bed."

Natasha’s eyes widened.

"That was a huge bed!"

"Not that much," Serafall replied without hesitation. "Besides, you were taking up too much space. I had to improvise."

Victor immediately looked away at the ceiling.

Charlotte made a strange noise that sounded dangerously close to laughter.

Natasha blushed instantly.

And no one could tell exactly if it came from sheer rage or mortal embarrassment.

"Improvise?!" Natasha repeated, her voice rising a whole tone. "You climbed on top of me!"

"Technically," Serafall replied thoughtfully, "I partially climbed on top of you."

"THIS DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER!"

Rakshasa watched the argument with genuine attention, clearly interested in the absurd dynamic between the two. She still remained practically glued to Victor, sitting next to him far too close for someone considered merely a "training partner."

Or at least that’s what Natasha thought.

And that clearly irritated her too.

"You literally put your breasts in my face!" Natasha continued, pointing accusingly at Serafall. "I woke up choking!"

Serafall brought a finger to her lips, thoughtfully.

"You didn’t seem to be suffering that much," she commented casually. "In fact, you sucked quite diligently."

Silence fell instantly in the room.

Victor coughed.

Charlotte immediately turned her face away to hide a huge smile.

Sapphire simply closed her eyes for a second, clearly deciding not to engage in that conversation.

Natasha looked like she was about to explode.

"I DIDN’T SUCK ANYTHING!"

"You even left a mark," Serafall replied calmly.

Natasha froze.

Completely.

Victor slowly covered his face with his hand.

Rakshasa tilted her head slightly. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"A mark?" she asked curiously.

Charlotte immediately joined the conversation before anyone could stop her.

"She left an extremely defined hickey on Serafall’s breast," she explained with absurd scientific enthusiasm. "It was fascinating to observe the lip pressure pattern even after hours."

"CHARLOTTE!" Natasha practically shouted.

The scientist didn’t seem the least bit intimidated.

"What? It’s true."

Natasha jumped up from the sofa in a brusque movement, pointing directly at Serafall now.

"You psychologically drugged me! That doesn’t count!"

Serafall calmly crossed her arms.

"I didn’t drug anyone. You were just very tired after almost dying of pleasure drinking blood."

Now it was Natasha’s turn to freeze.

Victor slowly sank further into the sofa, clearly reconsidering all the decisions that had led him to this point in his life.

Sapphire watched everything in absolute silence, but her shoulders trembled slightly.

She was holding back laughter.

Natasha noticed this immediately.

"You too!" she accused, turning to Sapphire. "Why can you drink his blood normally?!"

Sapphire blinked once.

"Because I have self-control," she replied calmly.

That was clearly a mistake.

Natasha’s eyes widened as if she had been physically assaulted.

"Self-control?!"

"Yes."

"I have self-control!"

Charlotte tilted her head slightly.

"You ran thousands of miles calling him master."

Natasha pointed at her without even looking.

"Shut up."

"You also came instantly," Charlotte added mercilessly.

Victor immediately put both hands to his face this time.

Serafall let out a low laugh.

Rakshasa, however, seemed genuinely worried now.

She looked at Victor, then at Natasha, then back at Victor.

"Does this really only happen with his blood?" she asked.

Charlotte immediately assumed an analytical posture.

"So far, yes," she replied. "But Natasha seems to have developed an extremely aggressive, specific hematological addiction."

"You’re talking like I’m a lab rat!" Natasha complained.

Charlotte smiled.

"You’d kick my machines less if I didn’t have to improvise analyses."

Natasha opened her mouth. It closed.

It opened again.

No answer came out.

Serafall then decided to deliberately make things worse.

"Anyway," she commented casually, "it was a fun night."

Natasha slowly turned her face toward her with an absolutely deadly expression.

"You literally used me as a mattress."

"You were comfortable."

"SERAFALL!"

Victor finally let out a heavy sigh and raised his hand.

"Okay, that’s enough," he murmured wearily. "I really don’t want to keep hearing details of this."

"You participated," Natasha retorted immediately.

Victor pointed to himself.

"I was emotionally dragged into this situation!"

Rakshasa immediately squeezed his arm possessively.

"You seemed to enjoy it," she commented.

Victor looked at her slowly.

"You’re not helping."

"I’m learning."

Charlotte almost lost her composure trying to hold back a laugh now.

Natasha sat back down on the sofa with unnecessary violence, crossing her arms again while avoiding direct eye contact with anyone in the room.

But that didn’t last long.

Because Serafall spoke again.

"You really slept like a baby afterwards," she commented distractedly. "You even hugged my chest in your sleep."

Natasha blushed again.

Very red.

This time even her ears were colored.

And that made it even harder to tell if she wanted to die of embarrassment or murder someone.

"I hate you all," she murmured.

"Liar," Serafall replied immediately. "At least you like Victor."

Natasha froze.

Victor immediately turned his face slowly towards her.

Rakshasa too.

Charlotte too.

Sapphire too.

It turned into an instant public execution.

"I’m leaving," Natasha declared immediately, starting to get up.

"Were you jealous of Sapphire?" "Asked Serafall innocently.

Natasha sat back down.

"I’m going to kill you."

Serafall grinned widely.

"So it’s jealousy."

"I’M NOT JEALOUS!"

"You stared at her drinking his blood for fifteen minutes without blinking."

Charlotte nodded in agreement.

"The behavioral signs really do indicate competitive possessiveness."

"YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY!"

Victor let out another heavy sigh while massaging his forehead.

"I just wanted to understand how my life turned into this."

Rakshasa immediately replied without hesitation:

"Because you’re strong."

Charlotte raised a finger.

"Because your blood is biologically absurd."

Serafall smiled maliciously.

"Because you’re hot."

Sapphire calmly took another small sip of his blood before adding:

"Probably all of the above."

Victor fell into absolute silence.

Natasha covered her face with both hands.

And for the first time in several minutes, the entire room fell into an eerie calm, filled only by the faint sound of people breathing.

Until Natasha murmured softly between her fingers:

"...I still think that bed was big enough."

That finally made Serafall laugh for real.
