Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar
Chapter 234 - 232: Look at Your Pathetic Self (12)
She suddenly found herself unable to say another word. Not until the car began to slowly pull away did she quickly say, "I’ll miss you. I’ll miss you so, so much."
He smiled as he watched her hastily shut the car door. In his heart, he was already saying the same thing in unison with her.
’Nora Ainsworth, I’ll miss you. From the day I fell in love with you, I’ve thought of you every second of every minute, so much that my heart aches.’
He had woken up at six this morning. He personally called the gynecologist from the General Hospital and found Nora Ainsworth’s medical file, as well as the records from the hospital near the film studio from yesterday afternoon.
Both showed a ninety-five percent probability that she couldn’t conceive and was unable to ovulate. In other words, there was a ninety-five percent chance she would never be able to have a child of her own.
But when Quentin Grant heard this news, the ache in his heart was only for her.
’When you love someone, what does it matter if she can’t have children? As long as I can be with her, I’ll do so wholeheartedly.’
’All I can think is that for this entire lifetime, I will never let go of her hand. For this entire lifetime, my heart will belong only to her.’
Chloe Marshall saw that her complexion had improved quite a bit and asked, "Nora, what did Young Master Grant say?"
Nora Ainsworth’s face was filled with joy. "Chloe, I told him everything honestly, without hiding a single thing. My gut feeling was right. Even after knowing, he still wants to be with me."
Hearing this, Chloe Marshall was overjoyed. "Nora, I told you! Young Master Grant’s heart belongs to you. He loves you, and only because he loves you would he treat you this way."
Nora Ainsworth looked at her. "Chloe, are you and Ethan Ellsworth officially together now?"
Chloe Marshall’s face instantly turned red. "Boss Ellsworth said he likes me. Nora, what’s the difference between love and like?"
Nora Ainsworth looked at her. "Love is a deep ’like,’ and ’like’ is a light ’love.’ There’s a difference between them. But I have high hopes for you two. Chloe, you’re a straightforward girl with no ulterior motives. I hope you can stay that way forever. That way, no matter what happens, you’ll always be optimistic. That’s the right attitude for living life to the fullest."
Chloe Marshall smiled faintly. "I get it. Actually, the way Boss Ellsworth is now is already great. I’m very content. My dream isn’t big—I just want to be with him every day."
"It will come true."
The car arrived at the film studio. At the hotel entrance, they happened to run into Ethan Ellsworth.
He cleared his throat, a bit embarrassed. "Uh, Young Master Grant just called me. Nora, my attitude yesterday was terrible. Hit me, kick me, do whatever you want. I won’t fight back!"
Nora Ainsworth beamed. "It’s fine. I understand how you felt. It’s okay, Ethan Ellsworth."
Hearing this, Ethan Ellsworth looked up at the sky and sighed dramatically. "I can’t believe it. My on-screen wife is my sister-in-law in real life. How am I supposed to deal with this?"
Chloe Marshall chimed in, "It’s okay, Boss Ellsworth. Your wife is right here. I can do anything, too."
Ethan Ellsworth shot her a look. "I bet any kid you have in the future will have a brain just like yours—dopey and dumb."
*
Chloe Marshall pouted. "Boss Ellsworth, even if they have a brain like mine, wouldn’t they still be your kid?"
Nora Ainsworth laughed. "Well said~"
Ethan Ellsworth’s face flushed. He said awkwardly, "We need to get to the set. We’re shooting at a different location today. Let’s go."
Watching him leave, Chloe Marshall said, "Nora, he’s just shy."
Nora Ainsworth smiled. "Let’s head over. We shouldn’t keep them waiting."
Chloe Marshall nodded. "Let’s go."
The TV series was a hit, and with the finale approaching, the area was swarmed by reporters and massive crowds of fans waiting to catch a glimpse of the cast.
This caused traffic to come to a standstill when the vehicles tried to leave for the next filming location.
It took a large number of security guards to clear a path.
Ethan Ellsworth had the most fans, making up nearly half the crowd. Nora Ainsworth was a newcomer, but thanks to her well-portrayed character, she had a good number of fans as well.
Cheers and screams surrounded the van. Sitting inside and looking around, Chloe Marshall suddenly said to Ethan Ellsworth, "Boss Ellsworth, do you think your fans would want to kill me if they found out I was your girlfriend?"
Ethan Ellsworth, wearing sunglasses, smiled faintly. "Kill you? That wouldn’t be enough. They’d at least tear you limb from limb."
Chloe Marshall was instantly panicked. "Then you absolutely can’t let them find out! I don’t want to die yet!"
He took off his sunglasses. "Look at you, what a coward."
Just then, Chloe Marshall noticed the laughter in his eyes and couldn’t help but laugh too. "Boss Ellsworth, you were just saying that on purpose, weren’t you?"
Ethan Ellsworth raised his hand, and Chloe Marshall immediately covered her head. "Boss Ellsworth, please don’t hit me again!"
He scoffed, "I was just going to scratch an itch. Don’t be so sensitive."
Chloe Marshall had just lowered her hands when she got a rap on the head. She turned angrily, "Boss Ellsworth!"
"Hm."
Chloe Marshall pressed her lips together, ignored him, and looked out the window.
After an hour, they arrived at the filming location, and the crew began to set up the scene.
Under a large sun umbrella, Nora Ainsworth and Ethan Ellsworth sat side-by-side in chairs while the siblings, Chloe and Zeke Marshall, watched from the side.
Sharon Ainsworth’s scenes were wrapping up today. Since she played a villain in the show, her final scene was of her character becoming a prisoner.
As soon as she got out of the car, a reporter rushed up and asked, "Miss Ainsworth, what is your relationship with Nora Ainsworth like?"
She chuckled lightly. "We used to be sisters, so of course, we’re on great terms."
"There have been rumors recently that you have a new boyfriend. Is there any truth to them?"
Sharon Ainsworth flirtatiously swept her long hair back. "News like that is obviously not true. If I had a boyfriend, I would announce it."
The reporter wanted to ask more, but Nora Ainsworth said, "Sorry, no more interviews."
Her agent and assistant followed behind her, with security guards clearing a path. She looked like a queen on a royal tour.
She walked to a spot not far from Nora Ainsworth, crossed her arms, and watched for a moment before finally approaching.
"Nora, would you like to have dinner together tonight?"
Nora Ainsworth leaned back in her chair, wearing sunglasses. Her red lips parted. "I’m busy."
Toward Sharon Ainsworth, she had always maintained a policy of keeping her distance and speaking as little as possible.
"Don’t be like that. We were sisters, after all. If word gets out that you’re acting like a diva, it won’t be good for you."
Nora Ainsworth nonchalantly uttered a single word, "Whatever."
Sharon Ainsworth didn’t know what to say next. Her expression changed, and in her heart, she cursed Nora Ainsworth up and down.
The atmosphere grew tense. Feeling awkward about staying any longer, Sharon Ainsworth turned and walked away.
Ethan Ellsworth glanced after her. "As far as I know, her agency paid for her to get this supporting role." He straightened up. "The head of her agency, the one with the beer belly, seems to have gotten divorced recently."
Nora Ainsworth replied, "Yeah, I heard about that too. Apparently, she was the one who forced his hand, which caused all the drama. It just hasn’t been exposed to the public."
