"Here is your key, patron," she said and handed me the key.

It has a simple enchantment that has nearly lost its power. The enchantment is nearly broken. One wouldn’t be able to charge it without fixing the enchantment first.

"Thank you," I thanked.

"Hot fresh is ready, patron, you look like you need one," she said as I had just taken a step away to leave.

I nearly shook my head when I stopped and walked toward the table. It is a small dining area with only five tables. Two are occupied, three are empty.

I sat down next to the one by the window and looked outside.

It is a small city where most people are fishermen. It is on the banks of the large lake.

There is only one Primary-III here, thirteen Primary-II, and the rest are Primary I or those yet to walk on the path of the practice, like the young woman.

Most of her had already; she is late due to her veins still being in development.

It would take another half a year before it does. Its due to her mother’s race: their veins develop a little more slowly than humans’ but are slightly more resilient.

Its morning and I can see people going to their work.

Despite what it seemed like from the people I come into contact with. 99% people in the world work jobs; they are farmers, fishermen, carpenters.

Especially on an island like this, which is secluded and has much lower energy density than the continents.

I was in my thoughts when the young girl put a tray in front of me. "Enjoy your meal, patron," said the young girl. I nodded my thanks and turned to the breakfast.

It is a simple vegetable and meat porridge and bread.

I broke the bread and dipped it into the porridge before eating it. A small smile appeared on my face as I did. I took another bite and another, and before I knew it, I had cleaned up the whole bowl.

It was a simple meal; it didn’t have the intricacies of high culinary art, but it was special in its own way.

I put the money for it down and walked toward my room. The young smiled as her eyes met mine, while I nodded and kept walking.

Soon, I reached my room and opened its door before walking inside.

The first thing I did was to take out the disk and activate it. It is too much, especially on this little island. There is no one who could fine me, much less hurt.

Even if the Prime scans this city, they would not notice anything special about me, but caution is a habit, hard to let go of.

I looked at the room, it’s a small room, with a bathroom attached to it. It is not the best state, but it is clean and has everything one would wish, which is a big thing in an inn of this size and in this area.

I scanned the room one last time before I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes to sleep.

Seconds passed and turned into minutes and minutes to ten, but sleep didn’t come. I am tired, but sleep seemed to be evading me.

So, I opened my eyes and looked at the ceiling. It rarely happens, usually when I am tired, I quickly fall asleep. Even when I am not tired, I don’t face many problems, but today I have.

To make matters worse, the memories of my family kept appearing in my mind.

I tried to stop and think about something else, but it didn’t seem to work. Those memories never disappear, and they become torturous.

I wanted to go out and get away, but I don’t feel like, I have energy for it.

It brought a laugh out of me. I have the power to destroy the island, but I didn’t feel like having the energy to get out of bed.

I closed my eyes once more and started taking even breaths to fall asleep. I didn’t, but I kept doing it, and eventually, I got lulled into sleep.

When I woke, it was night.

The sleep was not smooth. I had dreams and nightmares, all about my family; it was one of the worst nights I had ever had.

I didn’t get up on the bed immediately. I didn’t want to, so I remained there for more than an hour, before finally, I got out the bed.

I wouldn’t have, if not for smelling, the food.

I freshened up and walked out of the inn and saw the young girl as the same place, I had seen her in the morning.

"Patron, it seemed like you had a good rest, you seemed better than the morning," said the young girl turning to me. "Yes," I replied.

"Dinner is a ready. Would you like me serve you one?" she asked and I nodded.

A few seconds later, I sat down on the same table as earlier and looked outside of the window at the dimly lit street. It is workers district, city’s services here are not as great as the other parts.

Still, there are people on the street. Some of them just coming out of the work, while others came out in night for work or the pleasure.

Minutes passed and girl put delicious smelling try in front of me. Which has a large roasted, roasted vegetables and two sauces.

"This is gaurus roast; it is my mothers speciality. No one cooks better than her," she said with pride clear in her voice. "It’s smells delicious," I replied.

To that smiled brightly before walking away, while I turned to food.

A moment later, the sound came out of my mouth. She is right, it is delicious, not only fish, but also the vegetables and sauces.

Her mother, is really amazing cook. It is rare talent, it is natural and couldn’t be taught. I envy it as despite my culinary accomplishment, I do not have it.
