Chapter 2942: 2942. The Body

"This is strange, isn’t it?" Walker felt that he was trying too hard right now. Not because he wasn’t chasing the feeling he had about enhancing the spatial mana and storages. It was because he was following through on an idea that Alice had for him.

"Just keep trying it. You might figure something out about your body that you missed. A few of the warriors have tried to do this and it worked for them." She sighed and pointed at the plain cloths and armor that had no rune formations or anything on them at all.

"You just need to get rid of your mana filled gear and try to isolate yourself from mana. It is a training that others are doing right now to understand their bodies better without enhancements." Alice had been brought in to this theory and was bringing it to Walker.

She had spent time with him for the past three days just enjoying their own time. They had focused on their own relationship and unity while also allowing those that they had trained to show their own skills to the world. Plus, Alice had a few other things that she had wished to do with Walker while they were alone without anyone calling for aid or attention.

Sometimes some time just to spend with those you care for was exactly what someone would need to relax properly.

"I know that you said a few of the healers have been brought to warriors who were training like this, I am just skeptical." It was fair to feel this way, especially for Walker who had become almost entirely focused on mana due to the changes in the world and his body’s necessity for it now.

The theory was simple, spend time without mana interfering with your body so you can better understand your base state. This will allow for physical skill to be used more fluidly. It will allow for the mana you sense later to be more acclimated to you because you will understand your body and its needs better. Allow yourself to move without the outside influence of mana for a short while so that you can better understand your own mind without external influence.

The theory was the same when someone immersed themselves in singular mana, but this was to focus just on the body and nothing more.

Was it the best way of training? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. But it was different compared to the ways that he had trained before. That within itself was the best chance for him as he was trying to enhance parts of what he could do as a whole. And by focusing on the state of his physical body rather than mana control or spatial storage, he might be able to see aspects of himself he might have neglected or could improve within the world first.

There was also the fact that a lot of mages found that they held themselves back by not diversifying enough.

They would try to gain more mana storage for fire mana as a fire mage, only to find that they had not properly trained their own innate fire mana resistance because they had just assumed it was enough because of their affinity. Eventually leading them to burning themselves when they developed a more potent and powerful fire magic skill.

It was also similar to those who would nearly poison themselves with too much of their own affinity mana. Some people neglected the physical side of what came with their skills. Therefore, Walker was going to try this form of training regardless.

The reason that Alice explained healers had been called for this sort of training was that many had skills that could isolate mana from the body temporarily.

This was often necessary when someone was attacked with dense magic that was of an opposing affinity. It was not a skill that could be used in combat, but a skill used as part of a healing process. Yet, if the person was willing to let the skill be used on them, then they could be cut off from the manas in the air around them temporarily.

This was different from the control of mana that Walker would use to isolate an individual from drawing those manas in and manipulating them with their own manas. In this case, the magic was just stopping the usage for mana by creating a small distance between the physical body and the mana, not freezing the mana from flowing in a small area.

As Alice instructed several of her healers to isolate the mana around Walker who was sitting in a meditative position, Walker also stopped letting his mana sense spread. He had not withdrawn it in quite some time so this was actually somewhat challenging.

The feeling of not seeing everything around him with mana sense actually was like the first time he stepped on a boat. It felt disorienting. So much so that he believed he had let himself adjust too much to always sensing mana.

He wondered if someone attacked him by sending massive waves of mana at him if his more sensitive state would harm him rather than help. This was the case for some monsters and races within the elemental panes, so it would most likely be the same for him since he relied so heavily on mana.

But more so, he realized that he had not been looking at things normally with his real eyes without mana adding to them. While colors appeared duller, he also felt like the world around him became quieter. Although, he felt a little lost without more information on the entire building and general area around him.

He knew he could extend his senses over nearly every aspect of Genesis in a wide next at this point. But he could most likely push even further with his senses if he had a goal or if he needed to. He had grown a lot in the usage of his own mana and his skills related to understanding and sensing manas as a whole.

When the healers used their skill, Walker felt like he entirely lost sight of mana. He hadn’t been this blind in a long time if ever, or at least that was how he felt.

Then again, he also realized that he could better feel the breath in his lungs. Better feel the flex of his muscles.

He had grown physically stronger and more resistant to manas as well as his growth in control of mana. He had always neglected his physical skills and weapon training even though they were still fairly high because he used mana to make weapons at times.

Yet, he understood that his reliance on those was another level that he should focus on in terms of how he could survive. He had to ensure that even if he was outmatched by another monster or being with strong mana control that he could back his strength up.

As he started to stretch and flex he realized that the room was also nearly silent, another skill had been used so that he could focus on just himself and his physical state. He also found that there was a curtain of white light around the healers and him so that he would not see outward and become distracted.

He was isolated and could only focus on his body without outside interruption.

The small tug of the spatial storages attached to him made him realize that his body carried a weight. That every spatial storage had some physical effect on him because of the fact that it was tied to him. That he had been adding weight on himself to a degree because he kept making more spatial storages.

It was not impossible to manage, but if he had rushed to grab elemental planes and try to use them as he wished, would he have managed well enough? Would the spatial storages have grown too much for his body to handle?

He had seen the weight that Su and Remey felt, they were not as accustomed as he was. So what would have happened if he finally pushed beyond what he could normally handle?

The question didn’t need an answer, Walker understood what would have happened. He also understood that no one else would have been able to help him since they were not as accustomed to being able to use the mana she could or understand the flow of manas that he could. He could have ended up stuck or hurt without any chance of help until he adapted properly, and that was IF he adapted properly in the first place.

With this understanding, Walker took a deep breath and started to move through a few training motions. Just enough to feel how what he had done with his body and the weight on it flowed. Just to feel what he had now and how he could make it lighter on him. Exactly what was being stressed and affected.
