Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword
Chapter 104: Coming Out of Seclusion
Felix didn’t take a rest the night before the duel. He meditated, visualized, and cultivate with Moon and Rain.
He was quite disappointed that he was only at the middle part of Commander Rank 3 with his light red energy core.
The difference between Commander Rank 3 and 6 would be apparent during the duel later.
Of course, he sincerely hoped Jayden wouldn’t hold back later.
Dawn arrived and the warm ray of morning sun touched his skin, awakening him in his reverie.
Moon meowed, conveying she was hungry, causing Felix to take out her food from the storage ring.
He watched Moon with beaming smile ate heartily as he suddenly felt a presence standing beside him.
He was quite familiar with the presence, and the latter appeared without attempting to startle him anyway—as usual, it was Master Shen.
Felix hastily stood up, beaming a smile at him, and bowed. "Greetings, Master Shen."
Master Shen nodded, humming in delight.
After a while, he said, "Goodluck on your duel later. If you’re worried if Jayden will hold back, I already told him not to do so."
"Thank you, Master Shen!" Felix exclaimed.
"Mhm. Also, in case you don’t know, Krisha will also be fighting later. After much consideration, we’ve decided she and Damian will fight first. It was also suggested by the broadcasting network specialized for this event.
There are also many sponsors from big companies. After your fight, I will send the money you earn from this duel."
Felix was shocked. He didn’t expect he’d earn money.
Master Shen chuckled. "You didn’t expect this, did you?"
Felix shook his head. "I also didn’t expect Krisha will fight, either. But I already have an idea that she just won’t let me have fun alone. She’s my rival."
"Rival, huh?" Master Shen reminisced. "Not a bad way to elevate your friendship."
Master Shen then glanced at Felix and patted his shoulder. "If both of you wins or lose, may this serve as a big lesson in your life. Remember, it’s not you against your fellow human, it will always be you and your beast pet against the beast tide that threatens the city."
Felix nodded. "I understand, Master Shen."
"Mhm. I won’t take your time now. You should take a rest. The duel will start later at 5pm. There are still ceremonies or what not prepared by the sponsors and broadcasting network, so expect that your duel against Jayden might occur at night."
Felix’s eyes widened. He subconsciously glanced at Moon and smiled.
Master Shen stared at Moon and said, "I felt the lunar energy coming from her, so I decided the duel to commence tonight. That way, you’re not holding back at all, except that you can’t use your summon."
Master Shen smiled bitterly. He felt quite guilty after allowing Felix to use his summon if he dueled against Commander Rank while he was still at the Awakener Rank, but Felix didn’t bother trying.
It was also dangerous to commence a duel using cold weapons—any accidents might occur.
Felix heard what Master Shen said and, from his tone, Felix had a slight idea of what he felt.
He assured him. "Don’t worry, Master Shen. I’ve already decided to use Rain in case I’ll be endangered or else, only specifically against beasts. I’m planning to register myself as an adventurer once I’m freed from the burden of being a student."
Master Shen shook his head. "You shouldn’t hasten your decision. You should enjoy being a student. Shouldering responsibility at such a young age will definitely make you feel better at some point in your life."
Felix nodded.
Master Shen didn’t waste anymore time and bid farewell to Felix.
Felix turned towards Moon and just in time she had finished eating.
They then returned to their personal abode.
Felix slept for five hours straight. He felt refreshed. It was the result of consistently following his sleeping schedule.
For the first time after more than a week, he messaged Krisha if he wanted to have lunch together.
Felix wouldn’t deny he missed her sincerely. There was a time that he felt a butterfly from his stomach, but he resisted the urge to see her. He knew he had to get used not seeing her around, especially when it concerned his personal growth.
He was excited when typing and instantly clicked send. Surprisingly, Krisha immediately responded.
Felix smiled and prepared himself after Krisha said she’d be ready for half an hour.
Precisely half an hour later, Felix was now waiting outside of Krisha room. He deliberately left his room after half an hour and yet Krisha was still late for ten minutes.
Krisha giggled when she noticed Felix’s face, seemingly conveying his impatience.
She said, "Been a while, huh?"
Felix shrugged. "It has only been more than a week. Though, I wasn’t used to not seeing you around."
"I feel the same. Anyway, let’s continue talking later. I’m already hungry."
Felix nodded, agreeing.
Krisha walked first to the cafeteria while being followed behind by Felix.
The outer disciples who served their dishes while the inner disciples who were eating like them gazed at Felix and Krisha with mixed reactions.
The former had their eyes sparkled in excitements, enthusiastically serving them, while the inner disciples gazed at them with a face that seemed unsure how to feel.
It only has been last month that they disdained Felix for being arrogant, but now, he had proven his words.
He had grown stronger than them, who were inside the dojo for over a year already.
It only has been a month, and yet that fleeting time made Felix, as though a year already passed by with the changes occurring around him.
Krisha’s growth was as stunning as Felix, too.
They wondered what blissful encounter they had together to certify themselves as an absolute monster.
Felix and Krisha, on the other hand, were already used to their gazes.
Becoming the center of attention were inevitable, they simply had to grown accustomed with it.
At this moment, they were having conversation about the changes around them that would usually take months or even a year for an ordinary disciple...
