Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 2385: It’s Chasing You
Hua Sisi hadn’t been to that small space before, so she hadn’t seen the Prop Fish. She was doubtful at first, "Is it that escaped dungeon prop?"
"Doesn’t seem like it." Xu Huo frowned and reminded everyone, "Be careful."
The timing of the fish’s appearance and disappearance was quite peculiar. He had seen tentacles swallowing people on the 49th floor, but he couldn’t fathom that tentacles would follow a fish, and that the fish didn’t attack him... it seemed to have shown up here by chance.
"It’s out again!" shouted the round-faced player. This time, the fish appeared from one side of the wall. As its mouth protruded, the tentacles inside stretched instantly to more than ten meters, wrapping both the round-faced player and Hua Sisi beside him. Just moments ago they could run, but upon being caught, they were instantly frozen, their bodies rigid, being swung around the room by the tentacles!
Xu Huo turned the "Time Ring," found it ineffective, and immediately harnessed the Time Force from the surrounding space. Under the impact of the Time Force, the wildly flailing tentacles paused momentarily. He seized the chance to grab a nearby sofa and hurl it towards Hua Sisi and the other player!
The moment the Time Force dissipated, the sofa hit the two of them. Even with the swift reaction of the tentacles, this brief interference granted Hua Sisi and the other player some space, allowing them to regain their senses and use their life-saving props to escape.
Their first reaction was to flee the room, with Hua Sisi trailing behind. Soon enough, she was captured again by the pursuing tentacles, but they did not persist. After slamming the door until it creaked and whipping against the wall opposite the corridor, they withdrew back into the room.
Or rather, they were forced back into the room.
Xu Huo quickly glanced outside the door. Under the attack of advanced items, the walls, which normally would only be scratched, cracked visibly when struck by the tentacles. Such power, it’s unimaginable to think what would happen if someone unprotected by props got hit, they might be snapped in half!
The tentacles were retracting into the fish’s mouth inside the room, and the Prop Fish visibly swelled. After swimming around the room, it even swallowed Hua Sisi!
Xu Huo tried several times but couldn’t pull her out. Seeing her disappear, he had no choice but to turn and run outside.
The Girl in the Painting ran even faster than him, almost like a shadow zipping past him, completely unlike the enthusiastic person eager to search for dungeon props earlier.
"Run, run!" Shi Shuai hadn’t been idle either. He had been hiding in the corner of the room. Now seeing a clear path, he dashed for the door without a word.
Xu Huo grabbed him and let him pull him along while shouting, "What is that!"
"How should I know!" Shi Shuai replied hastily, "I’m not an encyclopedia!"
The two exited the room one after the other. At the moment the door closed, Xu Huo saw the tentacles inside the fish’s mouth turning back to wrap around the Prop Fish, causing it to shake violently and then convulsively vomit, first spitting out Hua Sisi, followed by a massive bundle of tentacles.
The tentacles couldn’t be bothered with chasing the players and instead turned to wrap around the Prop Fish!
No one knew what would happen next, for after Hua Sisi escaped, she shut the door tightly!
The round-faced player and Shi Shuai, who had left first, were nowhere to be seen. The Girl in the Painting was at the end of the corridor, waving frantically at Xu Huo, who wasted no time, saying, "Split up and run!"
"Be careful!" Hua Sisi said without hesitation, heading in the opposite direction.
The tentacles might have been coming for him, but what about that fish... Xu Huo followed the Girl in the Painting, asking her which way Shi Shuai fled.
The surrounding spatial power had become extremely unstable due to the tentacles and the Prop Fish’s appearance. Many players had escaped, and with the extended distance between them, it was difficult to accurately lock-on targets.
The Girl in the Painting pointed upwards.
Without hesitation, Xu Huo also chose to move upstairs.
The Girl in the Painting was beside him, mouthing words, "Shouldn’t we find a place to hide?"
"No hiding," Xu Huo replied, "Where can we hide? The building isn’t that big."
"I feel that thing is hard to deal with," the Girl in the Painting added, "Even the fish that ate it got entangled. Keeping it inside the fish’s belly didn’t work either."
"You know those are two props?" Xu Huo raised an eyebrow.
The Girl in the Painting nodded, "I feel like the thing inside the fish’s belly restrains me."
As they climbed floor by floor, without feeling any changes in the surrounding space, Xu Huo had the time to probe, "Reasons?"
The Girl in the Painting was invulnerable to water and fire, generally unaffected by props, so what kind of prop could restrain her?
She had no clue for the moment, just an instinctive urge to hide.
Xu Huo felt no Time Force on the tentacles and even when they immobilized players. The toxin didn’t seem likely either; considering it could freely move through small spaces, it might have a unique application of Spatial Power, which enabled it to quickly immobilize players.
If it was Spatial Power, the Girl in the Painting’s fear was understandable, especially since those tentacles were different from the Water Rubik’s Cube space; they were alive, with the ability to actively pursue targets.
As if to validate his thoughts, the next moment, the space fluctuated, and a giant fish head appeared from the staircase above!
The Prop Fish was larger than before, its head almost blocking the entire staircase. The tentacles in its mouth struggled, changing length as if they wanted to pull it out of the space, but before Xu Huo and the Girl in the Painting could approach, the Prop Fish jerked its head, slamming into the wall beside it!
It didn’t truly hit the wall; the moment it touched the wall, it became a spatial entry point. The fish body hadn’t fully emerged from another space when it vanished again!
And when Xu Huo and the Girl in the Painting ascended another two floors, the fish reappeared in the staircase, then bit the tentacles and drilled into a fluctuating space!
"It’s coming for you," the Girl in the Painting had the time to tap her Communicator, putting on a surprised expression, "It really likes you!"
Xu Huo glanced at her sideways in his busy state, "You think this is liking?"
The Girl in the Painting smirked slightly.
Xu Huo knew he was likely being targeted for revenge. Just seeing how relentless it was, this prop had developed a basic sense of thought, just like a person; people hold grudges, and so did it. Coincidentally, to avoid the influence of Time Force, or perhaps right at the room’s refresh time, the surroundings broke down, allowing it to escape from the small space. And unluckily, the first person it saw upon emerging was him, probably mistaking him for a Fish Banquet Building player, chasing him relentlessly from the 49th to the 23rd floor.
The appearance of the Prop Fish was also coincidental, as if it was helping, although the Prop Fish could also freely traverse spaces. It’s hard to determine whether it was trapping the tentacles or enhancing their activity.
While pondering how to temporarily evade these two props, he suddenly saw someone crouching by the lounge, picking up a feather that had fallen to the ground.
"Shi Shuai!" he called out.
