Everybody glanced at Wang Wei, leaving a deafening silence in the room. After a few seconds, the Erudite Duchess asked, "Is he correct?"

"He...is," Source Qi Cardinal nodded. "After he appeared, Grand Dao threw everything at him, but they all failed. Only after sensing the mark of two Hongmeng Saint — I meant True Transcendent — that he stopped for negotiation. Then, Grand Dao used this opportunity to gather information, including the importance of the Chaos Universe to him, and also threatened mutual destruction."

The Tribunal Lords frowned, trying to take in all this information. Despite their calm appearance, their minds were slightly disturbed. Many have speculated that there was a world outside of the Chaos Universe. After all, just like when they were mortals and had no clue where Great Emperors disappeared to, these Tribunal Saints thought it was the same for True Transcendents. However, they had never been able to confirm the truth until now.

"Something is not clicking for me," Wang Wei suddenly asked. "Powerhouses do not like to be threatened. Even out of fear of retaliation from our Hongmeng Saint, why did this Deathbringer accept such a humiliating compromise? Couldn’t he just search for another Chaos Universe?"

The fact that Deathbringer could only do things sneakily despite having the overwhelming advantage in the confrontation with Grand Dao does not make sense. Powerhouses are arrogant. How could they accept being suppressed by someone weaker than them? Even if he feared the two true transcendents, he should have become bolder after realizing that they had never cared about their place of origin.

"We don’t know the reason, but you’re right, the Beyonder has been quite accommodating in his dealings with Grand Dao," Source Qi nodded.

"In that case, I can only deduce two reasons," Wang Wei said. Everybody glanced at him, their eyes saying: You can? With such limited information? Of course, Wang Wei would not explain to them that, unlike them, he had long theorized about the state of [Hongmeng] and was not slightly surprised by the information revealed.

"First, the Hongmeng Saints secretly warned him, and no one was the wiser." Wang Wei calmly looked around the room to see if anyone had detected his deception. In truth, he didn’t think either Observation or the Bi Clan Ancestor had warned Deathbringer. Instead, it was probably his future self. According to his calculations, Hongmeng is the place of origin, the place where time, space, matter, and everything else are the same. And [True Transcendents] — as beings who defy logic — are up to all kinds of shenanigans.

"Secondly, and most likely, Chaos Universes are not easy to discover outside — at least, not unless someone is a Hongmeng Saint. We can even further deduce that not all Chaos Universes outside have a [Transcendent Path]. Some Chaos Universes have a low limit — probably Primordial Chaos Saint — and only a few of them can allow an entity to become a Hongmeng Saint.

"Deathbringer has probably spent a lot of time searching for a Chaos Universe that can allow him to reach a higher realm before discovering us. After spending so much time, he would not do anything to jeopardize this opportunity."

This conclusion did not come out of nowhere. Ever since the Saints in the Prehistoric World asked him to send them out of the Chaos Universe, Wang Wei had theorized that Saints could survive in Hongmeng. He even deduced that these Saints have verified this information.

"If we follow your logic, Primordial Chaos Saints should be able to leave the Chaos Universe and travel outside," the Erudite Duchess commented. Such an idea was not uncommon, with the Three-Eyes Scholar being the most prominent advocate. However, his way of wording everything made everybody shun him.

"This also means Grand Dao has another weapon in her hands: exile," Karma Root Monarch added. The importance of the Grand Dao and the [Transcendent Path] has reached an even greater level. If someone such as the Deathbringer has to suffer and even bow its head to gain access to it, then the inhabitants of the Chaos Universe should be glad that they haven’t become nomads with no home.

The Tribunal Lords glanced at each other. Once this news is released, they realized people will be more tolerant in their dealings with Grand Dao. After all, no one wants to be an exile outside the universe and cut off their future.

"Now you people finally understand the benevolence of Grand Dao?" Heaven Cardinal sneered.

"Benevolence doesn’t mean we will just accept any shitty treatment," Wang Wei sneered.

"I would expect nothing less from a great rebel such as yourself," Heaven Cardinal countered.

"Are you complimenting or cursing me?"

"Alright, this is not the time for this," Erudite Duchess butted in, stopping the argument from beginning. "We now understand Death —"

"Don’t just casually mention his name," Heaven Cardinal warned.

"Fine," the Duchess nodded. "We understand the Beyonder’s motive, but what about his actions? Why does he need envoys like Death Reverence? Are they trying to summon him into the world in another form?"

"Yes and no," Source Qi Cardinal replied. "Grand Dao has calculated that the Beyonder is looking for a vessel, and only through it can he achieve true transcendence."

"What kind of vessel?" Primordial Heaven Sword Saint asked.

"It must be a non-Saint, extremely talented, and also cultivate Death Dao in some form or another."

All eyes suddenly turned to Wang Wei.

"I cultivate Fate Dao."

"It’s indeed probably true," Source Qi nodded. "You haven’t been sanctified yet, meaning there is still a chance to change your Dao. More importantly, Death Reverence wouldn’t have acted unless he had found a vessel for his master."

Wang Wei’s lips twitched. As much as he wanted to deny it, he knew it was probably the truth. His so-called Time Nexus was most likely Death Reverence trying to sacrifice his body to his master. Wang Wei wanted to complain. First, the River of Fate wanted to possess him, and now, another higher entity was lusting after his [Existence]. Why did he feel like Tang Sangzang’s flesh?

"In that case, we need to protect him and ensure his survival," the Erudite Duchess commented.

"Yes, we cannot allow the Beyonder to succeed no matter what," Source Qi nodded. From the behaviors of all the previous Death Envoys, Grand Dao has gained knowledge that Deathbringer acted as an individual. His arrival in the universe would only bring death and chaos, and if he succeeds in achieving transcendence, the damage done to the universe will probably be even worse than that of the Bi Clan Ancestor.

"But, how do we deal with the envoys?" the Slaughter Ancestor asked. His words immediately rendered the room silent. This was an enemy even more formidable than Suiji. By now, they understood that the only reason Death Reverence hadn’t acted was that they were protected by the Death Beam, which is probably the key to their master descending into this timeline. However, once that is stabilized and no longer requires protection, nobody will be safe.

"Commander, what do you think?" Trinity Venerable suddenly asked.

"The only idea I can think of is to have a False Grand Dao powerhouse ourselves," Wang Wei revealed.

"And how do we do that?" It’s one thing to have an idea and another to execute it; everybody understands such a concept.

"Luckily, we have the perfect duo in the room," Wang Wei continued. "The Duchess’s Dao Path is all about knowledge and secrets. Meanwhile, the Heaven Cardinal knows most of the secrets of the universe. So, feed her enough information until she condenses her Dao Prototype, and we’ll have our powerhouse."

"Keep dreaming," Heaven Cardinal immediately replied.

"Do you think now is the time to be selfish?"

"The knowledge and information I have are all from the Grand Dao. Without explicit orders, I cannot reveal them."

"Bullshit," Wang Wei cussed. "Why didn’t you need permission to reveal information about the Beyonder?

"That was different."

"Calm down," the Trinity Venerable said.

"Anyway, I refuse." The last thing the Heaven Cardinal wanted to do was to make these people stronger. No matter the result of today’s events, it’s not in his best interest to do so.

"We need harmony. Since he refused to do it, let’s not force it," the Trinity Venerable suddenly said, and the others nodded with him.

"Damn these bastards. How dare they call themselves Saints? All of them scheming against each other and unable to see the bigger picture," Wang Wei thought, not hiding the disdain in his eyes for these people. How can he not see that the others did not want the Duchess to become too powerful and surpass them? Ultimately, cultivating the Dao is a competition, and the more power those who reach higher levels have, the fewer resources are available to the rest.

"Alright. How about Plan B?" Wang Wei sneered before looking at the Source Qi Cardinal. "Could you return to your previous state of power during the purification?"

"No. That was only possible because Grand Dao granted me a higher level of authority."

"What if you absorb this world’s Grand Dao?"
