"Hmm..." Yuelan rubbed her chin. "So in short, we’re a little screwed, aren’t we?"

"Yep." Xuan nodded. "I kind of doubt we’d be able to escape even if we used Void Step."

Yuelan nodded, and then glanced at her shadows.

"I’m sorry for roping you into this. I didn’t expect it to be so dangerous..."

"What are you two even talking about?" Hanbi asked, irritated. "You’ve been talking amongst yourselves since we first left. Mind cluing us in?"

Xuan and Yuelan exchanged a glance, then sighed in unison.

"You’re pretty chirpy, but sure. Xuan, mind explaining?" Yuelan harrumphed.

But Xuan simply shook his head. "Your turn to explain now. I’m going to scout out the area."

Before Yuelan could even begin to protest, Xuan Void Stepped away from all of them.

In the month he had spent before this excursion, Xuan leveled up Void Step by quite a lot.

Instead of reaching the Intermediate level, it kind of just switched to the Heaven+ rank.

He didn’t mind it, though. Using just 1/8th of his Void Qi would help him cross an entire city in just three Void Steps.

And in this case, he used it just enough to reach the forest, skipping past the marble ruins.

Truthfully, as much as he wanted to go check them out, Xuan had a little fear of those angel statues.

That piece of shit weeping angel movie... Why did I have to see it when I was just a little kid? Tsk. Whatever, I can at least check out those spires.

Void Stepping into the forest, Xuan thought he would cross easily. However, as though the forest was also an illusion, he passed clean through the tree and instead arrived right beside a massive cliff.

Glancing back, he saw Yuelan and the others in the distance, with no more trees in sight.

Looking down the cliff, Xuan spotted a few houses on the ground. It was like a regular town, just with not that many houses. Further away, there was a mountain range.

Though he also saw some movement by the houses.

Hmm... They don’t look like monsters. Could humans be living in this dungeon?

That would be even creepier.

Still, even though I was a complete newbie at games, watching Yuelan taught me something.

Never do high level dungeons solo.

After confirming that there was someone below them, Xuan went ahead and swept across this entire floating island.

Aside from a few bones and dried blood on the ground, he couldn’t find anything interesting.

So with that in mind, he came back to his group and relayed what he found once again.

As they stood there in silence, Sierra eventually spoke up.

"I feel it may be a formation. Maybe this entire island is? Or even the dungeon itself? You said it’s a tomb of that three-eyed something, so there has to be some clue, right?"

Before any of them could reply, she rolled up her sleeves and suddenly knelt on the ground.

As they all stared in confusion, she stood back up, nodding at each one of them.

"This island is not real. But it doesn’t look like we’re alone. I can feel a few hundred people around us. Are you sure there isn’t anyone else?"

"Uhh..."

"Mistress..." Hua Lian spoke up, tugging at Yuelan’s sleeve.

"What is it?" Yuelan turned to her with a raised brow.

But just then, as she glanced past the shocked Hua Lian, she saw something strange.

"Xuan?"

It was her turn to call out.

Deep down, he knew what they were talking about.

But he also hoped it wasn’t the case.

Even so, when he set his sights on the distant ruins and saw the blindfolded angel statues twitching and slightly moving, he knew that the childhood horror movie he had watched had just come to life.

But his fears were immediately grounded.

"Ice tits, wanna race to see who could destroy more statues?"

Hanbi’s brows twitched. "Ice tits?"

"Mhm. Not really sure what else to call you," Yuelan replied innocently. "So are you up for the challenge?"

She pointed at Xuan.

"What about you? Is that movie still haunting you?"

Xuan flinched, then shook his head.

"Nope. I’m joining in as well."

Like that, Xuan and Yuelan were in. Although hesitant and annoyed, Hanbi eventually joined too.

The shadows naturally followed, and in the end, only Sierra was against fighting. All she wanted to do was save her stamina and Qi. Just in case, she also said she’d keep watch so they didn’t get ambushed.

Nonetheless, with everything sorted, Yuelan cleared her throat and turned toward all of them with a giant smirk.

"Now now, get ready, okay?"

She raised three fingers and lowered them one by one.

"I’ll start counting. One, two—"

Without even finishing the count, she blasted forward and obliterated ten statues in an instant.

"!"

Hanbi’s eyes widened, then narrowed in anger.

"This bitch..." she murmured under her nose, and then dashed ahead.

The shadows were next in line, and lastly, Xuan.

He was hesitant for a moment, but after sucking it up, he Void Stepped up to a statue.

It didn’t move or attack, but he did feel some Qi coming from the statue.

Curious, Xuan took its blindfold off, and to his surprise, the statue suddenly lunged at him.

Even though he was creeped out, all it took was a single Void Qi-infused fist to shatter the statue.

And while he wasn’t expecting it, a pop-up appeared.

As he glanced back at the others, though, Xuan quickly realized something...

Yuelan and Hanbi were competitive.

So competitive, in fact, that while he had only managed to kill one of these statues, the two pretty much cleared out the island.

The WHOLE island.

No matter where he looked, there was only rubble.

"Hahaha~!" Yuelan burst out laughing. "I won!"

A vein appeared on Hanbi’s forehead. "No you didn’t—"

Her words were cut short when all of a sudden, the island under their feet vanished.

...Literally.

And so, they all began hurtling down.

Though...

"WAAAAAAAAAH!"

Yuelan seemed to be enjoying herself.
