Chapter 1431: A Pressure

Erend immediately realized they had created a big change. His sharp Dragon eyes fixed on Nyssara’s giant cosmic body as countless fragments of her severed appendages continued falling to the ground.

The cosmic being’s relentless assault had not slowed, but something had undeniably changed.

She was weakening so much from her initial strength. This should be enough for victory, enough to prove that their attacks were working.

The realization ignited even greater determination inside him.

"You both see that, right?" Erend asked through their telepathic connection while another stream of Dragon fire burst from his jaws.

"I do," Eccar answered immediately.

Even without seeing his expression, Erend could feel the overwhelming excitement radiating from Eccar’s mind. The Earth Dragon was enjoying every second of this impossible battle.

"I see it as well," Aesa replied.

Unlike Eccar, her voice remained calm and composed. She sounded almost completely unaffected, but Erend also felt the excitement hidden beneath her steady tone. She simply expressed it differently.

"We need to press harder before she does something else," Erend said.

Agreement came immediately from all three of his companions. Without another word, the four Dragonborn surged forward once again.

Erend became the spearhead of the assault.

His wings thundered through the sky as blazing fire gathered within his body. Fireball after fireball erupted from his jaws without pause. Some exploded against Nyssara’s appendages and struck directly against her cosmic body, forcing waves of burning Fire Dragonborn Magic to spread across her body.

At the same time, Eccar transformed the battlefield itself into his weapon. The black earth answered his call. Gigantic stone spears burst one after another, mountains of rock ripped themselves free from the ground.

Then several massive boulders carrying dense Earth Magic flew through the air before crashing relentlessly into Nyssara’s enormous body.

Every collision shook the dead world with thunderous sounds.

Aesa supported them from another direction. Freezing mist immediately engulfed the battlefield as countless crystalline spears condensed within the air, tens of thousands of them formed instantly.

The ice projectiles streaked across the sky in continuous waves.

Some of it froze Nyssara’s damaged appendages solid before Erend’s fire shattered them apart and some others pierced directly into the cosmic flesh before spreading frost throughout her body.

Their attacks flowed together with seamless coordination. Fire melted Nyssara’s defenses, earth crushed and shattered her body, and ice froze damaged sections to make them even more vulnerable.

Then Sylven finally moved. Until now, the Plant Dragon had remained unusually silent. This world filled him with disgust because there was no life. No forests, rivers, only death, decay, and corrupted energy stretched that endlessly.

It was a place that opposed everything he represented.

Even so, he could no longer remain idle.

Brilliant emerald light erupted around his body and Plant Magic spread in that world.

The black earth trembled violently. Against all logic, green life, not greenish death energy, starts to erupt from the dead soil.

Gigantic vines burst upward before twisting into monstrous predatory plants covered in rows of razor-sharp teeth. Thick roots tore through the ground while tendrils covered in thorn lashed toward Nyssara from every direction.

Carnivorous flowers the size of buildings bloomed, their petals opened wide before launching clouds of poisonous spores mixed with concentrated Plant Magic.

More living plants continued appearing every second. The lifeless dead soil slowly transformed into an impossible forest born directly from Dragonborn power.

The four Dragonborn combined their attacks without giving Nyssara a single moment to recover.

The battlefield disappeared beneath endless explosions of Magic. If anyone from the mortal world had witnessed this battle, they would not have been able to remain standing.

The overwhelming waves of Magic alone would have been enough to bring ordinary people to their knees.

The air shook continuously beneath unimaginable pressure.

Space distorted from the repeated collisions of Dragonborn power and cosmic energy.

The entire world trembled, this battle existed far beyond mortal capabilities.

While the four Dragonborn continued their battle against Nyssara in another world, events inside the underground chamber had also reached their most critical stage.

The five Archmages remained gathered around the fragmented pieces of the Sky Anchor and each of them looked exhausted.

Sweat rolled down their faces, their robes clung to their bodies. Their jaws tightly clenched as they continuously poured enormous amounts of Magic into the ritual.

Dozens of ancient artifacts floated around the chamber. Some of them rotated slowly, some of them spun so rapidly that they became little more than blurred circles of light.

Magic circles continuously appeared and vanished beneath them, streams of glowing runes flowed through the air like rivers.

The entire chamber vibrated from the enormous amount of Magical energy being manipulated. The sight perfectly illustrated just how difficult this experiment truly was.

Every fragment of the Sky Anchor resisted being reunited, and a slight mistake threatened to destabilize the entire process.

But none of the five Archmages considered giving up. Each of them had spent decades mastering Magic of this world. They were veterans who had survived countless disasters, dangerous experiments, and impossible situations.

Their mental fortitude had been tempered through a lifetime of hardship.

A little exhaustion, a little pain, and a little frustration was not enough to shake their resolve. They simply continued. Again and again.

Gradually, something changed.

One by one, the fragmented pieces of the Sky Anchor began responding differently. The violent resistance weakened. The Magical currents surrounding each fragment slowly aligned with one another.

The separated energies started intertwining naturally instead of colliding.

The five Archmages sensed the change at exactly the same moment. Hope rising within their heart.

Finally, genuine progress revealed itself. The fragments were finally beginning to accept one another.

Without exchanging a single word, all five Archmages smiled. They knew they had finally reached the final stage.

"Keep going!" Archmage Velrion said, but a smile on his face was still visible. "We can’t stop now."

"Of course we can’t!" Archmage Morvain said. His face spread into a grin.

At that moment they felt a foreign pressure descended on them.
