I Devoured The Primordial Chaos to Become the Strongest
Chapter 52: All complicated
"That’s all about the Hunters for now." Kael snapped them out of their thoughts. "Let’s begin today’s lesson."
Catena grunted and he looked even worse than ever, his eyes were almost completely closed and his face was as if he was keeping the pain of boredom in.
They all focused on Kael.
"After the apocalypse when essence was discovered and Awakeners started emerging, they didn’t know what to do with it before different methods were discovered," Kael said.
"The early Awakeners, we called them First Awakeners. They were the ones that paved the way for today’s Awakener world. They were now one of the most powerful Awakeners in the whole world." Kael said.
"Before they discovered how to use skills, spells, incantations, sigils, or prayers. They only use their essence as support in fighting, they were weaker then before monsters taught them." Kael said and paused, looking for their reaction.
But not all lot of them looked shocked to heard about it. It was a famous story in the history of the world that had been told many times to children and even adults continue telling the story to each other.
After the Apocalypse. Three years after the Apocalypse the world had been torn apart by monsters and the First Awakeners through war. But then they both reached a point where the mightiest of the monsters and the First Awakeners agreed to an agreement each keeping to their territory.
Even crypt busting lessen and they begin living peacefully together and the monsters taught the Awakeners how to use their essence well.
That all soon came to an end because of something they both forgot or maybe it was the monsters that forgot this simple fact— humans needed to kill monsters to advance.
Another war way soon broke out and this time it was a war that lasted for years. A war that was still going on till now though it had become a lagging war.
"....... A new treaty was put in place. The monsters should keep to their territory and the humans to theirs and now we mostly advance through crypt monsters unless during battle and you kill monsters." Kael finished the story.
Azaroth hadn’t heard about a new treaty that kept each other in their territory.
"What about crypt exploding and where monsters flood through?" Stallus asked.
"There are two types of monsters. No types per say. Let me explain. High Monsters and low monsters. Low monsters are new, dull monsters that will start gaining intelligence the more time they spend in our world. Unless they were advanced already in the crypt." Kael said.
"Advanced or High monsters are the real enemies of humans because they control the lesser ones. The more time they spend on earth the more they grow." Kael walked around them.
"Why didn’t we know this before?" Azaroth demanded.
Kael shrugged. "Because you didn’t deserve it. What, I should have wasted my time teaching students that might have died in the crypt?"
"And now?" Azaroth asked.
"Now your proper training began, just like I told you earlier. A lot of advanced monsters who understood humans kept the lesser ones in their territory but that doesn’t mean that you won’t have a monster’s raid here and there."
"If they only grow more powerful when they explode from the crypt. How do we have powerful intelligence monsters during the Apocalypse?" Catena pointed out.
Azaroth nodded, good question.
Kael signed. "Monsters, both the ones on earth and those in the crypt can both become powerful and intelligent. The only difficulty is time. It takes a lot of time and resources for monsters to grow powerful in the crypt but in our world, it’s very fast for them. To answer your question, powerful monsters came with those early crypts into our world during the apocalypse."
Azaroth hadn’t heard about any of this before. Does that mean any monsters that are powerful and intelligent in the crypt are something he shouldn’t mess with unless he is also powerful?
"How do you know a powerful monster?" Stallus asked.
"The easiest way is to watch out for its essence. Once you see they can use powerful major skills." Kael answered.
"If you’re not dead by then," Azaroth said.
"You might also know by their speech, that they understand humans and can hold conversations."
"Why didn’t the powerful once just leave the crypt? Why wait for the crypt to explode first?" Azaroth asked. Seems like the sensible thing to do.
Kael shrugged. "We don’t know. What we know is that we must kill monsters in the crypt periodically to keep the crypt from exploding. And that the powerful monsters in the crypt can’t leave their room or lair."
"All crypts have the powerful monsters relative to that crypt rank but they can’t leave the room for whatever reason. We mostly ignore them." Kael said.
"What happens when you kill the most powerful in any crypt?" Azaroth asked.
"The crypt... disappear." Kael Hound answered.
Azaroth stared at him, stunned. Disappeared? So....
"Why don’t you just clear all the crypt then?" Azaroth asked.
"It’s not that simple. First, it takes a lot of resources to clear a crypt, especially as the crypt rank advances. Secondly, the crypt is how Awakeners get stronger and advance." Kael said.
"If we clear all the crypt how will we deal with all the monsters already here on earth when our Awakeners can’t advance?" Kael asked.
Azaroth paused and nodded. It seems so simple and....complicated at the same time.
"And how did the monsters advance?" Azaroth asked.
"From what we know. The essence of our world is enough for them. Hell, they probably just need to breathe the air in our world to advance." Kael said darkly.
Must be nice, being a monster. Azaroth thought dryly.
"This is all complicated." Alex frowned.
Kael shrugged. "It it."
"Why don’t we just kill all the monsters on Earth and deal with the crypt?" Alex asked.
"It would have been done if it was that simple. The humans are not united but thankfully the monster’s own is even worse. An all-out war hasn’t happened since the last treaty and none knew how powerful the other is." Kael shrugged.
